Eloweigh and Phay, gods who ruled the empty heavens, created the world of Ba'het by dancing and stirring up dust and ice from chaos. To cure their loneliness, they created a daughter, Astrid the she-phant, from a boulder. Astrid made dolls and filled Ba'het with natural wonders. Eloweigh breathed life into the dolls, creating all creatures. Phay sang culture into the likeness of the gods, creating the Mamai, who ruled Ba'het as their population grew.
