2.
Introduction of Starch
Starchis a carbohydrate that is the chief form of
stored energy in plants, especially wheat, corn,
rice, and potatoes.
3.
The Future ofSustainable
Packaging
Starch is the future of sustainable
packaging.Starch-based bioplastics are a type
of biodegradable plastic that are made from
starch, a natural polymer that is abundant,
cheap, and renewable.
4.
Environmental Benefits ofStarch
Starch has several environmental benefits, They
are
● Renewable resources
● Degradability
● Carbon sequestration
● Bioadhesive alternative
5.
DEGRADABILITY
● Starch ishighly biodegradable and can break down into
natural elements much faster than traditional plastics. In
industrial composting facilities, starch-based plastics can
decompose in months.
6.
Health:
Diets high inrefined starches can increase the risk
of diabetes, heart disease, and weight gain. They
can also cause blood sugar to spike and then fall
sharply.
7.
CONCLUSION:
● Starch ismade up of long chains of sugar molecules that
are connected together.
● Starch based bio plastics are
renewable,biodegradable,easier to
manufacture,compostable.
