The 3x3 Business Model Storyboard for Ryanair Airlines: A Simpler and Flexibl...Rod King, Ph.D.
This presentation introduces the template of the Tic-Tac-Toe (3x3) Business Model Storyboard for visualizing, documenting, and managing business models. The 3x3 Business Model Storyboard has three distinct features:
1) Three Storypanels that describe the 3 main jobs-to-be-done of a business model: Value Creation, Value Delivery, and Value Sharing (Profit).
2) A simple-to-understand and use 3x3 grid of storycards that comprehensively describe the structure and dynamics of a business model.
Note that each column of 3 storycards belongs to a storypanel.
3) The template of the 3x3 Business Model Storyboard can be used to rapidly and iteratively discover, solve, and manage customer problems.
On June 19, 2009, we are organizing a gathering of business model innovation practitioners to share knowledge and experience.
The crowning of the day will be the "Business Model Generation" book lunch with a special limited edition for participants.

Tools for facilitating participatory events onlineMira Bangel
When developing an online event, we ask ourselves:
How can we create amazing participatory experiences that allow people to completely forget they are not in a physical environment? How can we turn the online challenge into an opportunity?
Much of what makes an event special is the time we spend together with our clients sensing into the deeper purpose, building a strong design with clear roles in the team and of course the participatory mindset and practices we apply when we facilitate.
However technology does play a key role and technology should be an enabler rather than a disabler :)
What most people fail to realise, is that any technological tool needs to be selected and used, based on the specific PURPOSE that has to be addressed.
So how can we understand the different expectations/needs that we have to address? And how can we select the right tools, based on these specific needs?
Here is a practical guide that we've pulled together on the topic with the SenseTribe team. How was this guide developed? Laura Grassi has been the key author, Marina Roa has added her wonderful illustrations, Raffaella Toticchi has added a mental model and many other amazing SenseTribers have added their ideas and thoughts, thank you. The technical and production challenges of a Hybrid Meeting are massive. How much can we afford to do for an audience that expects not to pay, or to pay little? Getting them involved is crucial, yet seems to be a bit of a nightmare. Even a separate sound technician needs to be an addition for a good on-line experience. The internet is not controllable, the speakers are nervous enough without complications for the on-line audience... What can we do, what is realistic, what can we afford?
Join this session for a set of case-based tips, stories and experience plus a behind the scenes look at the EIBTM/FRESH hybrid effort.

Adding Snap, Crackle & Pop to Chapter EventsBillhighway
One of the big mysteries these days is why chapter members aren't attending events. While it's easy to blame it on members being busy, this is usually not the reason members don’t attend events. If your chapters are having difficulty with event attendance, it might be time to put some extra effort into the event planning and programming. Join us on this webinar, where we explore what your chapters can do to boost their event attendance.
In this webinar, we cover how to…
• Tap into the desire members have (across generations) to attend live events.
• Curate the right programming for your chapters' audience that meets their need for continual learning.
• Create an event experience that leaves attendees amazed and ready to attend your next event.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

4. Community involvement
A growing number of event owners are adopting formats to reach
their communities and to create opportunities for relevant
stakeholders engagement.
The most popular formats are:
Open Space
World Café
Other “unconference” formats (Pro-action Café Learning Café,
etc.)
5. Community involvement
Community involvement is not just
improving engagement within the
organization that runs the event,
but expanding such engagement to
the community in general.
9. Community involvement
Best practices include:
A culture shift. Organizers must sincerely recognize the value of the
partnerships with other community agents, or they will never succeed.
A third party. Associations or Local & Regional Governments have a lead
partnering agency to assist in connecting with the community because a
third party helps ensure the community is comfortable sharing its true
hopes and concerns.
Meeting the community where it is. Ask the "neighborhood
grandmother" where the meeting should be held and do it there.
10. World Cafe
The World cafe is a good, simple process for bringing
people together to talk around questions that matter
• converse in small
groups
• move from table to
table
• people work together
• everyone contributes
• share/harvest
collective ideas
11. Using the support of MeetingSphere™
The use of MeetingSphere™ Electronic Meeting System can be instrumental
in making the most of a World Café meeting format.
The most important advantages are:
Table hosts can use diagrams but converge on shared text
All table inputs are reflected on the shared screen
Session records get instantly produced as a deliverable
Adds valuable content to other recording methods such a visual
graphics
Session content can be further extended to wider audiences for
crowdsourcing of further ideas or comments.

The process steps can be organised in any order an repeat to fulfil the objectives of the meeting.
