The Pearl is a novella by John Steinbeck about a poor family in Mexico. 

the hospital, but the doctor says, he wont
treat Coyotito because they are poor.


Juana prays for a large pearl. Which she
sees when Kino surfaces.

The pearl brings evil to Kino and his
family.

Kino and his family ends up leaving town.
And Coyotito ends up getting shot and
killed.
