We're all searching for God, but some people are searching for the god of their own making. In the life of Moses, the Israelites wanted a God to take away their pain while Pharaoh wanted a God to produce prosperity. Neither wanted God for himself.

The Parable of the Sower and the Seed (Luke 8) is about radical transformation from dirt to new life that happens from God's Word and the dangers that come for those seeking spiritual growth!
We've got to allow God to strip down all the years of grime and cheap paint piled on top of each other. He needs to get down to the bare original so He can begin to fill the cracks, sand the rough edges, and make our hearts beautiful again. In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.

5. This is God’s Word for my life in this Place and
at this Time. Today I am a new creation in
Christ, I am God’s very own, and I KNOW He
has a purpose for my life.
6. Now the tax collectorsand sinners were all
gathering around to hear Jesus. But the
Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered,
“This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
Then Jesus told them this parable:
7. “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and
loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-
nine in the open country and go after the lost
sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he
joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home.
Then he calls his friends and neighbors together
and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost
sheep.’
8. I tell you that in the same way there will be more
rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do
not need to repent.”
Luke 15:1-7
12. God does not cut his losses.
(We are Loved)
God does not wait to be asked.
(Love pursues)
13. God does not cut his losses.
(We are Loved)
God does not wait to be asked.
(Love pursues)
God does not condemn the lost.
(Love Restores)
14. Rejoicing in REPENTANCE
1. CONFESSION – REALIZE we are wrong!
Confession begins with your mind and your mouth.
2. CONTRITION - REMOURSE over what we’ve done.
This is your emotions and your expressions.
3. CHANGE – REARRANGE life’s priorities
Intentionally moving, acting and pursuing a new destination
15. This is the true joy of life, the being used up for a
purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; being
a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod
of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world
will not devote itself to making you happy.
Life is no “brief candle” to me. It is a sort of splendid
torch which I have got hold of for a moment, and I
want to make it burn as brightly as possible before
handing it on to future generations.
George Bernard Shaw
