While we may face challenges and hard times, God promises to give us strength and help us endure tests, and that all things will work together for good for those who love Him.

King Nebuchadnezzar erected a golden statue and commanded that all people must worship it. However, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to worship the idol. In response, the king had them thrown into a fiery furnace for disobeying his command. Miraculously, the three men survived unharmed in the furnace with a fourth figure appearing with them. Upon seeing this, the king praised the God of the Hebrews and declared that anyone speaking against their God would be killed. The three men were then promoted by the king for their faithfulness.

1) Jesus tells a parable about a fig tree that was planted in a vineyard but produced no fruit for three years, despite being in a protected location and receiving care.
2) The owner decides to cut it down since it is not fulfilling its purpose of producing fruit, but the vinedresser pleads for one more year to dig around it and fertilize it in hopes it will then bear fruit.
3) The parable teaches that God expects believers to bear fruit and be useful for his kingdom, but he also shows patience and gives people more chances to change through the intercession of Jesus.

God appoints Jeremiah to uproot and tear down nations, as well as to build and plant, assigning Jeremiah a significant task despite Jeremiah's perceived inadequacies.

Saul was persecuting Christians and breathing murderous threats against them. He obtained letters from the high priest to arrest Christians in Damascus and bring them back to Jerusalem. On the road to Damascus, Saul saw a bright light and heard Jesus say "Why do you persecute me?" Saul was blinded and Jesus told him to go to Damascus where he would be told what to do. Saul's persecution of Christians was his turning point, as Jesus chose him to be an instrument to carry his name to Gentiles, kings and Israel, though he would suffer greatly for this.

3. Do not focus on basic provisions but instead seek God's kingdom and righteousness and allow him to provide your daily needs as you live one day at a time. Do not worry about tomorrow.
Matthew 21.18 22 (january 29, 2017)
This passage from Matthew describes Jesus cursing a fig tree for not bearing fruit when he was hungry. When the disciples saw the fig tree wither immediately, they were amazed. Jesus told them that with faith, believers can do miraculous things like curse a fig tree or move a mountain. He said that anything asked for in prayer will be received if one has faith.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work.
