Most it's pieces are a decade old and one of the pieces that brought my attention the most was, The
Panorama of the City of New York. The Panorama of the City of New York it's called the jewel in
the crown of the the collection in Queens Museum. The Panorama was built by a team of more than
100 people working for the great architectural model makers Raymond Lester and Associates over
the course of three years. Lester referred to aerial photographs, Sanborn fire insurance maps, and a
range of the other City material as the Panorama had to be accurate because of the fact that this was
between reality and the "world's largest scale model." This was one of the must successful
attractions in 1964 when it was introduced. The Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass was so
beautiful by the way it lighted up the whole room. It was just amazing how lamps were built and

Personal Statement After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, I started working at the
National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. For about a year, I worked with

On one hand, some visitors arrive with previous knowledge or a background in the subject, and they
will fully utilize the text panels and labels. On the other hand, the casual museum guest is more
likely to be looking only for the overall theme or a few interesting facts to take home and share with
friends and family. A creatively constructed mobile app consisting of short games and simple
challenges can engage the guest with the objects and concisely transmit knowledge while remaining
entertaining. During my senior year, I conducted my Honor's Research in Museum Anthropology.
First, I researched the advantages and disadvantages of existing technologies and the potential of
digital devices in the galleries. Second, I observed the visitors in the Hall of Ancient Life at the Sam
Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History to see how they used the pre–existing participatory
elements, such as touchscreen displays, discovery drawers, and touch carts. Last, I used the
information to design a mobile app based on the conclusion that active participation, such as asking
the guest to create or make decisions, is more effective and memorable than passive participation,
like audio guides or QR codes on labels. I discovered that Bluetooth Beacons are the solution to
digital devices distracting from exhibits. Instead of having to constantly check their screens, the
guests are sent a notification when within range of the beacon. This method allows the visitors to put
their phones away in their pockets until standing in front of a specific display; therefore, they are
able to connect the information they learn within the app to the objects they are viewing. I would
like to study digital trends, design, and implementation with Dr. Gomez, the Curator of Digital
Technology. I believe that his guidance will give me the needed education and experience to fully

Museums are information organizations, that is, they are about giving the most up–to–date
information to their patrons. No matter how well their organization, commercially, is wrap it up that
part of them remains the same. From the two museums that I visited, the Henry Ford Museum and
the Museum of Natural History, are clearly about passing information to the patron. There are
differences between them, however, it is the equivalences that I want to focus on as they are what
bind them. The three areas of focus are community, academic outreach, and the stories they share.

I have never been into a museum before but for the first time in United States I visited a museum
named Fairfield museum and history center along with my friends which is at 370 beach road,
Fairfield, Connecticut. At the Fairfield museum we observe exhibition galleries, research libraries,
education center and a theatre with a seating of 80 members.
In the exhibition galleries we can look at images of our ancient paintings, and the items of emperors
and the culture at their time which allows us to see, feel, touch and realize about our historical things

This week's reading focused on anthropologists working across different disciplines. The readings
focused on anthropologists working in fisheries and museums and the contributions of
anthropologists in these different areas. Anthropologists employed in fisheries is fairly uncommon,
whereas anthropologist in museums have historically contributed in this area and have had a major
influence in museum exhibits. These articles demonstrate how anthropologists are branching out
into fields and disciplines that were uncommon for anthropologists to set foot in and contribute,
specifically anthropologist in fisheries. At the same time, talking about a field that have had
anthropologists collaborate like museums, these articles display the evolution of the discipline and
the relevancy anthropology is having in every discipline and area of research.

When I was younger, I thought museums were boring and dull, filled with pointless, nonsensical art
work that people just pretended to understand what the artists were thinking. I thought people
interpreted imaginary meanings from the art that other people just followed and accepted because it

I think that is true very often because people are not willing to compromise and listen to the things
others have to say. This piece maybe in a subconscious way reminded me of a current relationship I
have and I am kind of going through the same idea of two people not understanding each other and
their spikes being unable to interlock because of the lack of communication. Along with the

Speed Art Museum
The Speed Art Museum, originally known as the J.B. Speed Memorial Museum, now commonly
referred to as the Speed by locals in the Louisville area, is the oldest, largest, and the primary
museum of art in Kentucky.

Including artwork from the fourth millennium BC to today's world, the museum truly holds a
collection to see. From incredibly large painting created in the thirteen–hundreds to marvelous
detailed sculptures built in the early seventeen–hundreds the museum's eight collections holds a
variety of items to see.
Each of the exhibits are done very well, including a variety of items for each collection. Each
exhibit includes art pieces that fit in their category. For example, my favorite art piece of the
museum, the fifteen foot painting of ancient dutch philosophers would fit in the category, "Dutch
and Flemish".
My overall view of the museum is very positive. I truly enjoyed visiting the museum and observing
all of the various art pieces the museum holds. It was very interesting to see the large paintings in
the "Dutch and Flemish" collection because I personally have always been a painting type of person

Museums are boring. Stuffy. Musty. Much too "cultured" and "bourgeois". Who cares about those

The curator has a lot to deal with so there is a structure of positional power so that one person is not
completely overwhelmed. The structure of the museum field follows the positions form the top
being the main director, directors in specific fields then curators. After the curators, there is no

An art museum is a place to view the world as separate from ones self. One can view and

Maintaining and increasing visitors to museums is essential to the existence of the institutions. Art
Galleries, Children's Museums, Anthropology Museums, Zoos, History Museums and other types of
museums all depend on a steady stream of people coming to their institutions. Without a robust
attendance, gallery halls are just empty, full of objects collecting dust. Objects and artifacts that the
public and researchers are not viewing are wasted opportunities to be an inspiration or to help gain

The Stockyard Museum
Learning to get out of your confronts zone and do many things you have never done before can be
challenging, fun and learning opportunity like mines was. In my family, we do not really try new
things like we should because everyone seems to be busy doing other things. Therefore, visting the
museum was a huge eye opener for me and very interesting in many ways. These museums are ones
you wouldn't usually catch me at which is called "The Stockyard Museum" and "Texas Cowboy

The Meadows Museum is a public art museum on the Southern Methodist University campus, and it
collects a lot of Spanish works. When I was around the museum, I saw many beautiful stone
sculptures. When I entered the museum, I felt quiet, serious and professional because of visitors who

Beraud style of painting has become more Impressionist over the course of his life. In the painting it
features a woman who seems to be getting ready to go to a party. Unlike the last painting, this one
seems to consists of more darker colors and colors that contrast each other, such as black and white.

Back in my school years I used to visit many historical museums, where I learned a lot about the

I have read some information about the museum on its site, and decided that I should definitely go
there. When I came to the museum, the first thing that impressed me was the astonishing building: it
was a masterpiece itself. The exterior of the Tampa Museum of Art has a light installation, and all I
wanted at that moment is night to come so I could see thousands of colored lights reflected in the
surface of the river that flows near the museum. What's more, I liked the design of the museum
inside as well. There were white walls and perfect lighting, and nothing would bother
contemplation. In many museums I have visited before there was a lot of distractions, but in this
museum everything was done on the principle of simplicity, and that was very pleasing to me.

The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum located in the Florida International University (FIU)
campus is a major cultural institution and has been opened since 1977. The building has three floors

portrait 24"x36" which consisted of a modern 25 story building that covered the portrait from top to

In front of this massive modern building was a three story white building in ruins. Here you can see

A piece of art work that can be considered as a piece to include in any home would have to be the
work done by John Sanchez, (United States, b. 1973). In his oil on canvas called A Wanted
Melancholy, 2007 depicts a night life intersection after a rain fall. As you look up close, all you see

watercolor, link, and wax on hardboard 49 1/8 x 54 3/8 inches (124.8 x 138.1 cm).
I chose this artwork because it was one of the work that remained in my memory throughout the

The real issue was not that the new director opened the doors to the public, but the management
organization at the University Art Museum. There are three main points as listed by "the elderly
statesmen of the faculty" that need to be addressed and clearly defined for the museum: its mission,

My first impression of the museum was that I thought the design of the building was nice and before
I knew anything more about the museum I knew that it was a contemporary art museum from the
architecture. Once inside we weren't sure where we should go first, some people went into the gift

I decided to visit the Longmont Museum and Cultural Center (Image 1). The URL for this museum

from the other museums that I have visited more recently. It provided a great deal of interesting
insight and topics for discussion for me to consider. My overall experience consists of the museum's
setting, any personal interactions that occurred, my analysis of my favorite work of art that I
encountered, and my opinions on viewing art in person rather than through other material. This
museum's setting was not at all what I had expected and was rather disappointing. Most museums
have a very solemn and academic mood that encourages silence and thoughtfulness. The Longmont

be balance between children's' activities and adult academic learning. Children and adults should
