The document discusses strategies for adapting to working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. It notes that external motivators like social pressure and corporate norms are no longer present, making work more difficult. However, discovering and leveraging internal motivators can help increase productivity. The document provides examples of internal motivators like productive peaks and passions. It suggests identifying internal motivators, using external motivators like accountability partners to fill gaps, and establishing routines to transition between work and personal time.

This is a talk I gave pre-Mother's Day to a group of mothers and women working at the Fundline Philippines central office. :) The topic was on Women and Family Life - Finding Your Balance as a Wife and Mother.
It was only Tuesday afternoon and already things were piling up for next week. You just came back from a long lunch with your boss and peer team, walked into your office, and plopped into the chair. Looking at the afternoon schedule, you feel overwhelmed. If only you could walk outside for a few minutes, recharge, come back full swing and raring to go. Then reality hits and you know that if you did that, you would be just delaying the inevitable and would come back to more work and less time. Panic sets in when you realized how much work you have to do: your team had six people, and your boss keeps asking you to do more. You have no one to delegate to. You agonize over not having enough time and letting your family down. Stress is your constant companion.
You need to devote more time at work, but then home life suffers. You devote time to home life, and work suffers: this is the Time Seesaw. How can you effectively balance home and work, and still have time for yourself? Impossible, you think, but…. perhaps not.

In this 30 Minute Masterclass, Marianne reveals why so many small business owners are frustrated by the lack of progress and growth in their business, and shares a 3 point strategy for achieving significantly better results and a clear pathway to your ideal future.
“Life was not to be sitting in hot amorphic leisure in my backyard idly writing or not-writing, as the spirit moved me. It was, instead, running madly, in a crowded schedule, in a squirrel cage of busy people. Working, living, dancing, dreaming, talking, kissing — singing, laughing, learning. The responsibility, the awful responsibility of managing (profitably) 12 hours a day for 10 weeks is rather overwhelming when there is nothing, noone, to insert an exact routine into the large unfenced acres of time — which it is so easy to let drift by in soporific idling and luxurious relaxing. It is like lifting a bell jar off a securely clockwork-like functioning community, and seeing all the little busy people stop, gasp, blow up and float in the inrush, (or rather outrush,) of the rarified scheduled atmosphere — poor little frightened people, flailing impotent arms in the aimless air. That's what it feels like: getting shed of a routine. Even though one had rebelled terribly against it, even then, one feels uncomfortable when jounced out of the repetitive rut. And so with me. What to do? Where to turn? What ties, what roots? as I hang suspended in the strange thin air of back-home?”

Since the coronavirus pandemic has struck the world, the traditional norms have changed. The schools are shut, businesses are closed and employees are working from home.
Want to know how to care for your wellbeing during remote working? Here's a handy guide to put your health first and get some great tips to take care of yourself while working from home.
Today’s busy life constantly comes with packages of stress, anxiety,
and apprehension; all of which are not invited to a healthy happy
life. To cope, people search for therapies and guidance on how to
limit or eradicate these things from daily schedules. However, the
answer may be much simpler than that. If anything, it is to calm
down and take everything slowly; the definition of Zen.
Here’s a good starter for understanding the principles of acquiring a Zen life you can apply to your everyday routine. With practice and punctuality, you’ll soon find that adapting Zen habits can fill your life with peace and prosperity and is much easier to maintain than you may have thought previously.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.

In this deck, you will learn the significance of workplace discipline for organisational success. You’ll also learn
• Four (4) workplace discipline methods you should consider

02
WHAT PART OFYOUR ROLE DOYOU LOVE/NOT LOVE?
The parts of your work that you are most passionate about can be drivers. Deciding how to plan your day and
use your time mindfully and strategically, can help you feel less drained at the end of the day. Work you love is
probably easier to get done when you’re nearing the end of the day and your energy levels are waning. Scheduling
this for end of day gives you something to look forward to.
01
WHEN ISYOUR PRODUCTIVE PEAK?
When are you most productive? When can you hit the ground running? When are you naturally most focused?
Block out time for your most thought-provoking, focus-required work.
03
WHEN DOYOU GET HUNGRY?TIRED? UNFOCUSED?
When do you naturally get hungry? Block those times out on your calendar. When are you naturally tired or
unfocused? These are times you want to consciously bring in external motivators (1:1 meetings, accountability
partners, scheduled breaks for coffee or tea).
04
WHENYOU FINISH WORK,WHAT DOYOU GETTO DO?
What is the one thing that you can look forward to? If your social life has some gaps now, how do you fill them?
Now’s the time to get through that watchlist, call your grandma or your old college roommate (it’s been awhile!)
and take care of that project around the house. You can also start a new hobby or try a new recipe. Give
yourself something to look forward to at the end of the day. 20

Creating external boundaries:
• Suggest a new corporate standard, meetings are
50 minutes and 25 minutes long, to allow for
breaks, and mental recovery.
• Update your own calendar, block out time for
lunch, and at least 2, 25 min breaks per day
• Add some additional time blocks into your
calendar for you to catch up on personal texts
and family time. Set a timer for your kids so they
know when they can expect to spend time with
you.
29. CAN’T FOCUS
SHIFTING MOTIVATIONS SCENARIO 2
29
When you work from home, you have a
hard time focusing in the afternoons.
You’ve been at this project for an hour
and made very little progress.
Leverage external motivators
• Set up 1:1 meetings instead of thought provoking
project work for the afternoons.
• Schedule a daily walking break or “virtual coffee”
with a colleague, and give your brain a chance to
recover from all the hard work you’ve been
doing.
• Ask a colleague for help, set a smaller goal and
agree that you’ll both focus for 25 min on your
projects, and then check in.

Thanks so much to all who joined the Career Happy Hour and for all of your suggestions! I am 100% certain I’ve missed some. Feel free to

• Minimize stay at home anxiety: for an afternoon pickup, try tea instead of coffee (read more about the impact of L-Theanine on
anxiety)
• Change scenery: when you’re getting bored and restless, try moving to a new room or different chair. Just because you’re working
from home doesn’t mean you have to be at your desk all day.
• Schedule a team meeting first thing in the morning and set goals with your teammates for the day.
• VIRTUAL HAPPY HOUR! Use Zoom or your video conferencing platform and get your team and friends together.
• FITNESS: lots of options to get your fitness game on

• Virtual happy hour and virtual lunches
• Marco Polo
• Ask your friends for help in staying focused during the day if their texts are disruptive to you meeting your goals
• ACCOUNTABILITY (thanks to Sylvia for sharing her daily practice in detail!)
• GAMs from JJVirgin. Having an Accountability Partner / Buddy helps to solidify this as a habit.
• We text each other every night between 9-10pm to confirm that we’ve done them and that we’ve walked / exercised at
least 10 min that day. We don’t share the details of the GAMs, just to encourage each other to do them. The nice
thing about this habit is that, throughout the day, I look for Miracles.
• G = Gratitude; 3 things you’re grateful for - ideally done in the morning
• A = Appreciation; someone you appreciate and tell them why.
• M = Miracle; 3 unexpected nice things that happened that day – ideally done in the evening. Ie: Someone told me that I
had a nice smile – or – a friend texted me saying that I was “industrious”.
