Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.
"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

2. Welcome! … To the Lightning Legacy! My first, very short-lived attempt at a Legacy was destroyed by my incompetent computer. *shakes fist* Ah, well. No use crying over spilt milk! I’m very excited for this ABC Legacy. It has the same naming theme as my first one: names from things I like. That encompasses many things, such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, Greek Mythology and the TV show The Mentalist, to name a few. Plus I also discovered how to make my very own townies! Yay! Another note: I’m staring this legacy eXtreme style. If I’m doing a legacy, I might as well. Anyways, enough blabbering. On with chapter one! *Anna* Aka clarinetplayer15
3. “Remind me again why I’m doing this?” This is Liberty Lightning (cool name, no?), our founder. She’s a Knowledge Sim. And she’s not too happy with me right now. “Oh yeah, it wasn’t my choice. You’re making me.” Oh, lighten up. You get to be the founder of a legacy! How exciting! “I would rather have a house.” You’ll have a house eventually. You need to earn moneys and find a spouse first. “But that will take too long.” My, you’re whiny, aren’t you. “You would whine too if you were living on an empty lot.” Nonsense. It’s not COMPLETELY empty. You have a bed and a counter and a fridge and a toilet. “No shower?” We couldn’t afford one.
4. Was Intelligence in the paper? (It’s her LTW to be in the top of that career.) “No.” Well, take Medical, it’s the highest paying at the moment. “I’m more concerned about that lady who’s staring at me right now.” I don’t blame you. Well, it’s just the welcome wagon. They’ll leave soon. “Good.” But in the meantime, let’s go downtown and fill that comfort bar of yours. Why is it so low? “I don’t have a chair.” Oh yeah, we couldn’t afford one.
5. That’s right, Crumplebottom. You leave my founder alone!
6. Did you not hear what I said? Leave Liberty alone! Is anyone else finding it weird that I have a whole slide dedicated to arguing with a sim? You know what, you can lecture her all you want, she’s not changing out of that swimsuit. I will not give you that satisfaction. You know, it really is a pity that you can’t death-of-flies her. She certainly deserves it.
7. Anyways…. Comfort bar revived, Liberty heads back home– I mean heads back to her lot. And, the boring Knowledge sim that she is, studies til nightfall. Moving on….
8. After a day of studying, Liberty finds her Social bar rather low, and snags a man walking by off the street. “Hello, I’m Liberty.” “Oh, you must be the new founder that just moved in!” the man replied. “I’m Hayden, it’s nice to meet you.” “Nice to meet you, too. What are you doing here?” “Oh, I’m just a townie. I don’t really have much purpose. Do you mind if I ask what it’s like being a founder?” “Not at all,” Liberty replied. “It kind of sucks, actually. As you an see, I have no house.” “But that should change, shouldn’t it?” “I sure hope so. I’ve only been here a day, and I’m having trouble standing living on a lawn. It sucks!” Hayden laughed. “I can imagine.”
9. Hayden and Liberty became fast friends, but they soon had to say good-bye, for Liberty had work in the morning. “I’ll see you around, I guess,” Liberty said, waving to Hayden. “Feel free to come by anytime.” “I will,” Hayden replied. “See you later!” He grinned at her and left.
10. Liberty! Guess what I bought you! I bought you a phone and a mirror and a chair and a chess table, and best of all…. A shower! (You can’t see it here, but it’s just the cheap University shower.) “Cool. I’m calling Hayden. I want to talk to someone who isn’t intent on cutting people up someday.” Hayden, however, had dropped a red sharpie in the blender to see what would happen and was still trying to get the marker off his face, so couldn’t come over. (Gen-J, anyone?)
11. Liberty than instead invited a random girl off the street to break in her new chess set with. “Your name’s Sunny, right?” “Yup,” the girl replied happily. “I heard that someone new had moved to town and I’m so excited to have got to meet you!” “I’m glad you feel I’m good company.” “You are,” Sunny bubbled. “Your move, Liberty.” Liberty made friends easily with Sunny as well. If only I could find someone that would be more than friends, Liberty thought dully. Then I could get off this wretched lawn.
12. Uh-oh. Got fired, did you? “Yes… I guess I shouldn’t have driven the ambulance on the sidewalk. I should’ve just ushered the other cars out of the way.” I would’ve done the sidewalk thing, too, Liberty. Having been in a situation where ambulances were needed, I was glad they came fast. It was frickin’ cold outside, I didn’t want to wait forever because some jerk in a car wasn’t moving. “That was rather random.” Just trying to make you feel better. However, all is well because Intelligence is in the paper the next day! “Says you. I’m still in a bad mood from being fired.” Invite Hayden over. He’ll probably cheer you up.
13. So she invited him. They played a game of chess, and were starting another one when Liberty started to feel rather cold. She got up to grab her coat and when she was heading back to the table, she saw someone walking up the sidewalk to her lawn-home. “Hayden,” Liberty asked, “do you know who that is?” She gestured with her head toward the approaching figure. “Huh? Oh yeah, that’s my brother. I told you he was coming earlier over the phone,” Hayden answered vaguely, focused on the chess board. “Oh,” Liberty answered faintly. She could see from her stand point that the figure was blonde, and if there was one thing that turned her on, it was blonde hair. She felt herself start to sweat as she walked up to greet him and invite him over, and began to wish she hadn’t put her coat on. When the figure saw her moving toward him, he stopped and waited expectantly. She took a deep breath and went the last few feet towards him.
14. “Hi,” he said as she approached. “I’m Caleb. I assume Hayden told you I was coming over?” “Yes, he did,” Liberty replied, sighing inwardly. He was very easy to talk to and it wasn’t awkward at all. “I’m Liberty, by the way.” “I know. I’ve heard a lot about you.” Liberty raised an eyebrow. “You have?” “Hayden,” Caleb said as an explanation and shrugged. “Now I feel kind of embarrassed,” Liberty admitted. “Oh, don’t worry, he’s not like, in love with you!” Caleb laughed. “Hayden just talks a lot about everyone he meets. It’s just the way he is.”
15. They continued conversing and eventually sat down in favor of sore tushes over sore feet. “Sorry I don’t have proper seating,” Liberty apologized. “As a Legacy founder, I don’t have much money.” “Oh, I don’t mind the ground,” Caleb assured her. It was easy to lose track of time when she was talking to him and before they knew it, it was dinnertime. “Oh, wow,” Liberty said. “It’s 5:00! You must be hungry, I’m sorry.” “Don’t worry about it,” Caleb said, standing up and brushing the dirt off his pants. “I’m pretty easygoing. Eat when hungry, sleep when tired, that sort of thing.” He helped Liberty to her feet and she felt a rush of pleasure when his hand touched hers. She mentally shook herself. Get a grip. “I’ll go make some dinner and we can finish talking over it, okay?”
16. Liberty felt his eyes on her as she prepared a salad dish, but refused to look back at him to see if her suspicions were correct. After all, she thought while chopping lettuce, it would be just like me to cut off my finger while I looked back to smile at him. That would sure win him over. She rolled her eyes and tossed the salad with ranch. That was when she decided to make a move on him. There was no denying she liked him. As Liberty was saying something winning to Caleb, Hayden smiled to himself and said under his breath, “I knew they’d get along just fine.” The flirt was successful and a very happy Creator noticed that they had 3 bolts. So it wasn’t long before….
17. Butterflies filled her stomach in excitement and anxiety as she put a hand under his chin and pulled his face toward hers.
18. “I told you you two would get along just fine, didn’t I bro, huh?” said Hayden triumphantly. Caleb smiled rather coldly at his brother. “It’s getting late, isn’t it? Shouldn’t you be getting home?” Hayden took the hint and left, but not before winking at Liberty. Liberty grimaced. “Well, that wasn’t awkward at all.” “Hey,” Caleb said to her sternly.
19. He pulled her into his arms. “That doesn’t change a thing.” As they slowly moved around on the lawn, Liberty thought that maybe lawn living wouldn’t be so bad if Caleb was there with her.
20. “Pllllleeeeeaaaasssseeeee?” I already told you, you have to be married first. That’s what the handicap says. You should get married first anyway. “Then I’ll propose right now.”
21. And she did! “Wow, Lib, that wasn’t obvious at all, since you just said you were going to do it! But whatever, I’ll marry you anyway.” Caleb smiled and put the ring on his finger. “I have a ring for you, too,” he told her and Liberty got to place a ring on her left had as well. They had to wait another day, however, to get married, as, staring eXtreme, Liberty wasn’t allowed to move in any sims for the first week of her existence. So the happy couple waited another day to be lawfully wed.
22. Okay, so maybe not lawfully wed. “And, by the power vested in myself, I, Caleb Natachy, take you, Liberty Lightning to be my wife, in sickness and health and all that stuff.” “Very romantic,” Liberty teased him playfully. He shrugged. “It works.”
23. Look, Liberty! You have a house now, thanks to Caleb! “Thank you, Caleb!” What, no thanks to me for building it? “Thank you, Anna.” You’re welcome. Now, off to the bedroom with you. I need kiddies. “Wow, how nice and blunt.” Just keeping it real, Caleb dear. And it’s not like you’re complaining about it.
24. But, like I said, they weren’t complaining and soon there was a little’un on the way.
25. It also wasn’t long before Liberty’s pregnancy started to show. Caleb ambled into the kitchen one morning to find his wife already up and painting. “How’s the baby?” he asked. “He keeps kicking,” Liberty said conversationally. “What?” Caleb answered excitedly. He came over and rubbed Liberty’s stomach. “Oh, I’m so excited to be a dad!” In case you hadn’t figured it out yet, Caleb’s a Family sim.
26. “Caleb, Caleb, get up!” “Liberty,” he yawned, “why are you getting me up at three in the morning?” “Because I’m going into labor!” she responded urgently. “Ow, ow!”
27. Annabeth Welcome Annabeth Lightning! Named after Annabeth Chase from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, she’s a demigod daughter of Athena. Very wise and protective of her friends.
28. Caleb proved to be a great daddy, true to his Family aspiration. Annabeth loved to be held by him, and if she was upset, Caleb cuddling her always calmed her down. He also changed all the diapers, as Liberty seemed to always have a fear of it. Silly Knowledge sim. Birthday time rolled around and a nervous Creator watched as the candles were blown out. Be cute, Annie!
29. Annie did turn out beautiful! The Creator is pleased! She seems to have inherited her daddy’s nose. She’d be just like him, except she’s actually a natural redhead. I dyed her hair blonde to fit her character. The book also describes her hair being long and curled like a princess’s. I think I did fairly well. Caleb continued to spend colossal amounts of time with his daughter and was pleased as all when her first word was “daddy.”
30. Annabeth has been my favorite toddler so far to ever play, and I really do love her, so here’s a spam slide for you pleasure.
31. It was soon time for Annabeth to grow into a child, and Caleb got the honor this time of bringing her to the cake.
32. But wait! Before you can see her, there’s an intermission in the form of Liberty giving birth. I totally forgot to mention that she was expecting again. “And you wonder why I’m moody! Arrgh!”
33. Anakin And baby Anakin was born! Named after Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars, he starts training to become a Jedi at an unusually late age. He’s the Chosen One, and a very gifted Jedi, with an even higher mid-chlorine count than Yoda. He eventually turns to the dark side, and if you don’t know what that means, just take a look at the picture to the right.
34. Here’s Annabeth, all grown up. She does seem to take after her dad more than her mum, though. I think she’s beautiful and I love her oh-so-much.
35. Caleb once again proved to be a Family sim through and through. Just look at how contented Ani is in his arms. Awwww. <3 Annabeth also proved to be a great big sister and spent a lot of time talking to Ani and telling him all about herself.
36. Birthday time came and went, and Annabeth was very excited to have a brother that would now talk back to her. Aww, isn’t he cute? And he got his mum’s bright lightning blue eyes. Get it? Hehheh. I should probably just shut up now.
37. You know what that means, Liberty! “Ugh, again??” Last time, I promise
38. Yes, another spam slide. You can pretty much expect this to become typical with all the toddlers that come into the family.
39. You seem to be making a habit of giving birth in your thinking cap. “Shaddup and get the camera away from me. I’m in labor and it’s no picnic.” I’d gathered that much on my own, funnily enough.
40. So A’Tuin was born in the cold out by the family chess set. A’Tuin Named after the giant space turtle that has 4 elephants standing on its back and on top of them is the Discworld. He doesn’t have much character, as he’s a turtle, so I pretty much have free reign with him. :)
41. And I’ll leave you here with this funny picture of the face Liberty pulled while calling Caleb over. It was a short chapter, I know, only 40 slides, but I prefer them short. The next chapter will be up in a week or so. Have a good day, and thanks for reading!
