This document provides information about conferences within the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. It defines a conference as a community of faith and action, usually based in a parish, that meets regularly to pray and discuss their charitable work visiting those in need. It outlines who can become a member of a conference and how conferences are structured. The duties of conferences including annual reviews, reports, and quarterly collections are also summarized. Aggregation is described as the official recognition of a conference by the Society that signifies the conference is operating according to the Society's rules.
How to act rightly - International trainingssvp-formation
Conflicts can sometimes arise within our Conferences or Councils, signs of the pride hidden in each one of us. This presentation helps us to identify our areas of darkness, and gives us safe ways to fight them: humility and friendship. Let us learn to “transform individual personalities into group strength”

Relations with international organisations and churchssvp-formation
A first part, devoted to the UN councils: ECOSOC, Human Rights Commission, UNESCO. What is the role of each of these? How does the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul work with other Christian organisations within these bodies, to protect the voice of those in need, and to contribute to the coming of a just and fair society? The second part also describes the relations between the Church and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, founded on two principles: faithfulness to the Church and its teachings, autonomy in its governance, rules and activities.
Powerpoint from the International Council General
The document provides guidance for members of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul on how to conduct home visits to those in need. It discusses preparing for visits by planning logistics with the conference and engaging in personal prayer. During visits, members are advised to actively listen, make the person feel comfortable, and avoid judgment. After visits, members should take notes, discuss solutions respectfully as a group, and respect the autonomy of those visited. The overall aim is for visits to provide spiritual support and friendship to those experiencing poverty.
The visit is the main work of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. How do we set about it? Where do we find the people to visit? Practical advice for conducting the encounter properly, for preparing for it well. Tips to keep the conversation going, the pitfalls to avoid. And always a model to contemplate: Christ himself.

“I suffer your pain!” exclaimed Saint Vincent de Paul. This means that the heart of Vincentians cannot remain indifferent to the various tragedies which strike the world every day, the echoes of which are reflected in the media. The members of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul feel responsible for all those who suffer, near or far; they express this sense of closeness with those most deprived by supporting the work of their fellow members around the world both financially and spiritually. Everything you need to know about how Vincentians help each other with special works, projects or twinnage.

The document discusses reforms to the Vatican Curia undertaken by Pope Francis. It describes how Pope Francis established a Commission (COSEA) to investigate administrative and economic matters and offer recommendations. Based on COSEA's advice, Pope Francis created three new structures: the Council for the Economy, the Secretariat for the Economy, and an Auditor General. These new structures aim to increase transparency, accountability, and efficiency in Vatican finances and administration.
A introduction to Vincentian spirituality. The main principles. Saint Vincent, his conversion and his work. It all flows from Saint Vincent’s extraordinary discovery: Christ is hidden in the poor person. Serving the poor person, I am serving Christ himself, I am touching him... The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul was born into a world in the throes of change. Attracted by the jobs created by the Industrial Revolution, an influx of people flooded into the cities. The working conditions were inhuman. Undernourished, badly housed, these new arrivals struggled to survive as best they could in the urban environment. Paris was at that time an unhealthy and unsafe place. The State’s contribution to the relief of poverty was minimal. After the French Revolution, the Church itself was weak. This was the crisis situation in which 7 young men stood up and decided “to go to the margins”. This is a dramatic, very moving and very topical story, with many parallels between that period and our own...

Assessment and Planning in Educational technology.pptxKavitha Krishnan
In an education system, it is understood that assessment is only for the students, but on the other hand, the Assessment of teachers is also an important aspect of the education system that ensures teachers are providing high-quality instruction to students. The assessment process can be used to provide feedback and support for professional development, to inform decisions about teacher retention or promotion, or to evaluate teacher effectiveness for accountability purposes.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
How to Build a Module in Odoo 17 Using the Scaffold MethodCeline George
Odoo provides an option for creating a module by using a single line command. By using this command the user can make a whole structure of a module. It is very easy for a beginner to make a module. There is no need to make each file manually. This slide will show how to create a module using the scaffold method.
Strategies for Effective Upskilling is a presentation by Chinwendu Peace in a Your Skill Boost Masterclass organisation by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan on 08th and 09th June 2024 from 1 PM to 3 PM on each day.

Our main aim was not to come
to the aid of the poor, no;
that was only a means for us.
Our aim was to keep
ourselves firm in our Catholic
faith and to spread the faith to
others through charity

THE CONFERENCE IN 4
1. The Conference is not money-based
2. Its way of working is through poverty
Its primary mission is to give time, affection, skills
3. Its heart is fruitful. So there can be at once
- A small conference with few resources
- A conference rich in works
And so a conference can be modest, with limited means, but a
wealth of good work
4. The Conference is universal
The model can be transposed to societies both rich and poor
