Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Christian faith. The four Gospels present Jesus as king, servant, man, and God. Jesus came to save people from their sins, with names meaning "God saves" and "God with us." His conception was miraculous, and he lived a sinless life to be the perfect sacrifice. Jesus was baptized and tempted, then preached about repentance and the kingdom of God with authority to forgive sins and perform healings. He willingly laid down his life and rose from the dead three days later, as he had foretold.
