- 3. What is KooBitsChallenge? www.koobits.com The KooBits Challenge is a nation-wide online learning contest originated from Singapore. 1 in 6 Singaporean children are currently taking part in the KooBits Challenge 2014.
- 4. What is KooBitsChallenge? www.koobits.com KooBits Challenge’s game dynamics make it highly engaging and motivating to children. It uses the latest technology to design personalized, daily learning activities to help your child develop effective study habits, acquire problem-solving skills and life skills to build a broad and deep foundation.

Each child will therefore succeed in different ways. • Every child can learn, whatever his starting point. • We must put values and character development at the core of our education system. Character cannot be made except by a steady, long-continued process.
- 6. Program Mission: Developing GoodStudy Habits www.koobits.com Successful students have good study habits. They plan specific time for study, set specific goals, ask right questions and get organized. It’s through these habits that successful students build deep foundation and acquire valuable knowledge and skills. However, good habits are hard to come by. Most students let habit form on its own, and often fall victim to common bad habits such as last minute cramming, procrastinating, studying without a plan and so on. To address this problem, we designed the KooBits Challenge and set its core mission as to help students develop good study habits. KooBits Challenge engages students to perform a set of daily routines, help them set targets and rewards. The length of the challenge is also carefully designed to make the new habits stick and sink in.

How is KooBitsChallenge different? www.koobits.com Traditional Competition Usually a single-day event 4 seasons in a year, each lasts 3 months Focused on assessment Focused on training and grooming It’s about how good your child is. It’s about how good you want your child to be. Individual effort Individual activities + social and collaborative learning • Recall concepts learnt in the past • Attempt 20 to 50 assessment questions • Improve skills every day • Get access to more than 65,000 questions and more than 700 skills • Provide multiple pathways in an open and inclusive system which develops different talents in each child • Learn to to work effectively with others • Learn to have the confidence to deal with problems that have no clear-cut solutions Usually stressful and pressurizing Fun, motivating and enjoyable process

- 11. The KooBits MathChallenge www.koobits.com The KooBits Math Challenge is the module focused on mathematical skills. It’s currently available for schools and parents to sign up.

The KooBits MathChallenge What is included in the program? www.koobits.com • Daily Challenge questions (10 challenge questions per day, progressively following the Singapore MOE Math curriculum) • Peer Challenge questions (max 3 peer challenges per day, 15 questions in total) • Teaching videos, adaptively pulled out at the point where the child is stuck • Collaborative and social interaction with other players to form team and compete in a group • (Optional) weekly homework and mock test, self-practice full curriculum • Prizes, badges and certificates for challenge winners For students: Participants will be assigned with personalized sets of daily activities or tasks. They earn points by completing these learning tasks independently. They can also challenge each other to improve fluency in core competencies.
