Chapter 10: The Merchant Guild

2. Welcome back to Celestia. Maybe I should have chosen a
different title for this chapter…eh whatever. Isabella
Shahan here welcomes you back with her dancing. She’s
happy she’s got her hair back.

3. Catherine was doing well and was in the
habit of playing Mahjong with the women
of the kingdom one night a week.

4. The heir to the Sims household Darcy was paired up with
Esther Coldwell by the well. Should be an interesting
pairing. She’s rebellious enough that she just won’t mention
how much her betrothed is dating around the kingdom.

5. But really Esther is okay with it all. She’s a
pleasure seeker herself after all. Just don’t
tell her grandmother Ruby…

6. Elinor and Anne spend some time honing their cooking
skill. Neither young woman is in any rush and their parents
haven’t seemed too fussed about them taking their time
with things.

7. Both ladies have ambitious desires, though
Anne knows hers is out of the question. A
woman knight? From her class?

8. Catherine had decided that her starting
home was getting much too crowded for
her family. They needed more space.

9. Fortunately, Peter’s own holdings were
much larger and a new house had been in
the works for the family for some time.

10. Isabella would of course inherit the cabin from Catherine as
well as the Library itself. She hoped somehow Isabella
could find a way to keep the Shahan name, it would be nice
to see her father’s name continue here in Celestia.

11. Catherine now led regular tai chi classes for the women of
the kingdom once a week in the newest extension to the
library. She was happy she would be leaving the library in
such capable hands as Isabella’s.

12. Her daughters all took tea together on
Friday’s in the tea room. Catherine was
glad all 4 of her girls were close.

13. It was a little sad they alienated their
brother Darcy, but Catherine understood
they needed their girl time.

14. The new house was finally finished
enough to allow the family to move in.
Hopefully, it would serve their family well.

15. It didn’t take Isabella long to throw a grand
feast to christen the new house. All the
teens she knew were invited.

16. A strange woman named Michelle was invited all the way
from the neighboring province. How Isabella had managed
to make her acquaintance or why she was dressed so
oddly was a mystery.

17. Michelle decided to declare to someone that she and
Isabella were the best of friends didn’t you know?
Strange woman indeed.

18. Archie Gordon had been shocked he’d actually convinced
Isabella to let him come to her feast. He’d fallen for her
sister Anne almost as soon as he’d grown up. Could he
ever hope to woo a girl of her standing?

19. Esther and Darcy of course found time to
be alone and to make definitive plans that
they would marry would the time came.

20. Yasutora Chen had even made it over to
visit. Though, truthfully he was quite
confused as to why he’d been invited.

21. Fanny couldn’t believe her sister had invited her
crush to come to the feast! She was so
nervous..what if she couldn’t figure out what to say?

22. She did her best to make herself as
interesting as possible. Social situations
really were not her thing.

23. Prince Ryker eventually pulled Fanny aside for a bit of
alone time. He needed to find a proper match to be queen,
and he was of the mind his father had the right idea
keeping his options open.

24. Besides, Fanny was proving to be a lot of
fun to hang around with. He was quite
pleased he’d decided to crash this party.

25. Sadly, someone must have had a bug at the
feast because soon half the house needed
to meditate to get rid of the evil spirits.

26. This left Peter alone with the
cat a lot of the time.

27. At least Darcy hadn’t gotten sick. It meant he could work on
his goal to date around a bit before he had to settle down
and run the show. He loved Esther, but he was young and
wanted to have some fun!

28. How the girls felt about being dropped on
the Sims family doorstep for a quick date
was anyone’s guess.

29. By the end of the season, Isabella was a
young woman. It was time to move back
into the cabin and get her life started!

30. Over at the Coldwell family home, Noah noted his parents
were still madly in love. How Leo had managed to live with
the ever difficult Ruby for so many years escaped him.

31. Or how his wife Elizabeth fared being locked in a house
with her all day for years. He was glad he’d finally saved up
enough to give her something she’d always dreamed of.

32. Elizabeth had always been into caring for
others in the community, and had always
thought Celestia could use a spa/bath house.

33. And now, she could finally run the spa of
her dreams. He couldn’t wait to see what
she would do with the place!

34. Elizabeth had been overjoyed with her surprise.
Noah was so thoughtful! It didn’t take her long at
all to make the spa the talk of the town.

35. Back at home, the youngest Ruth spent as much time as
she could with her grandfather Leo. He’d not been feeling
well of late, and the family was worried about him.

36. Still, Ruth made time to play with her twin
Paul too. He was actually quite fun to play
with, not at all too rough like some boys were.

37. Noah continued to paint on the side as a hobby
when he wasn’t working at the graveyard and
overseeing burials around the kingdom.

38. The twins saw to their studies often
helping each other. Noah loved seeing
how caring and gentle his son was.

39. But Leo had passed down that caring and nurturing
nature to his own son Noah. He was proud to see his
grandson Paul carried a servant’s hear too.

40. Ruby had taken to sleeping outside Leo’s room
each night now. He kept her up now, but she still
couldn’t tear herself away from being close to him.

41. Her old friend Lady Hashmi actually stopped by
for a surprise visit one afternoon. It was so nice
to catch up! It had been such a long time.

42. Ruby, for all her faults could be a good friend,
and she did care for her family. Ashleigh had
always been glad they were friends.

43. Ashleigh couldn’t believe how quickly Paul
had shot up into a teenager! Where had
the time gone?

44. Of course, Ruth had grown up
into a fine young woman as well.

45. She seemed to love to tease her older sister Esther about
the fact she had a far better dress, and hairstyle. Good
sportily of course, mother and father both would have been
cross otherwise.

46. Sadly, Leo passed away at the end of
Spring leaving a gaping hole in the
Coldwell family.

47. Over at the Peters house Davos was elated that he’d
managed to keep his mother’s property out of the hands
of his sister Lyanna and in the hands of his wife Tanishi.

48. He’d also been on several successful adventures
and obtained a rare golden statue which now
decorated his newly renovated home.

49. His sons Gendry and Sam
were coming along nicely.

50. His wife Tanishi hadn’t been so fond of him keeping his
mother’s lands away from his sister after all, and he didn’t
want it getting back to her father she was too unhappy so
he’d made sure to give his mother a proper funeral at least.

51. His father Jacob was of the opinion that
Vanessa had no right to promise the Tailor to
Lyanna anyway without consulting her son first.

52. Gendry thought his mother’s cooking was really
quite deplorable, but he knew better than to say
anything. His father would skin him alive.

53. Tanishi was still very good friend’s with her
brother’s wife Nicole and often had the other
woman over for tea when all the boys were away.

54. Her father Yidi was also still a regular
visitor to the Peters residence.

55. Gendry was matched with baby Ruth Coldwell. She
was very pretty and she came from a very proper
upbringing. He already knew she was a fine cook.

56. Gendry knew Ruth would make an excellent
choice for the family’s next spouse. No doubt they
could easily take his family to the next level.

57. She was not only a fine cook, but she was a
fine dancer too. She really had received the
finest tutelage in edict in all the kingdom.

58. Ruth very much liked Gendry and his
mother was very kind. She had a feeling
she would fit in quite nicely here.

59. Soon Sam aged up and joined his brother in a shared room
upstairs. For his part, Sam just wanted to get out there on his
own and make a name for himself. Perhaps, he should move
to the Moon Islands? It was still relatively undeveloped

60. Tanishi spent most of her time at the Tea House making
sure it kept running smoothly for her brother. She still
wasn’t sure Lyanna was really okay with her keeping the
Tailor like she said.

61. The Dutchess of the Moon Islands even
stopped by. She was in some rather
strange attire though.

62. Her son Sam took up flower arranging. It was quite a
surprising hobby choice, but he swore he thought the
Duchess seemed like she would like flowers and the Moon
Islands ought to have some Gardens.

63. Tanishi had been happily surprised to see
Davos had invited his sister and her family
over for a visit.

64. Luke and Gendry seemed to
be getting along very well.

65. He even politely gave his cousin Leia
dances around the upstairs hall.

66. Overall, Davos was pleased with how life
was going for the Peters family within the
kingdom.

67. Leia worked on her cooking skill in the
newly renovated front room of her family
home.

68. She was also working hard on her
painting skill. Her papa had managed to
find her a private tutor.

69. Lyanna had been disappointed she hadn’t inherited her
mother’s tailor shop. She knew her mother had really wanted
her to have the clothing store, but she knew her father and
brother well enough to know it was never going to happen.

70. Her son Luke surprised her by dedicating his first store to
using her weaved furniture. He swore that before she knew
it everyone in the kingdom would want her nice furnishings.

71. He seemed to have a very good head for business just like
George. Lynanna had no doubt her son would easily add 5
more successful ventures to the kingdom. He was off to a
booming start with the Weaver.

72. Back at home Leia was falling absolutely
in love with her father’s birthday present. A
beautiful cat she’d named Sour.

73. She’d been asking for a pet for ages and she was
determined to prove to her papa she could take very good
care of Sour. She’d have this kitty trained in no time!

74. Sour went everywhere with Leia. James
Glenham couldn’t quite figure out why this nice
merchant’s daughter was being so nice to him.

75. Luke was well liked around the kingdom. He was quite
personable and even Story who a lot of the other boys in
the kingdom snickered at, found a friend in George’s son.

76. Lyanna noted that Sour even slept on her daughter’s bed
while the girl was away for tutoring. She had to admit
George really had picked out quite a lovely cat for their
daughter.

77. All too quickly the season came to a close
and their little girl was not going to be so
little anymore.

78. Leia grew up into a fine
young lady.

79. So that wraps things up for the merchants this round. Honestly, I
have no idea what happened with the Tailor. I tried giving the
deed to Lyanna as a gift, but for some reason the game still says
the Peters still own the place.
Oh well at least they have the furniture store now, and with Luke
wanting to run 5 businesses it’s not like the McCarthy’s will be
hurting pretty soon anyway.
