The document discusses the importance of ecosystems and collaborative communications in accelerating change. It provides two examples of how Tieto has used ecosystems to spur innovation: (1) Tieto Perspectives, a digital site where partners, customers, and experts discuss and explore ideas at the intersection of business and technology; and (2) Ultrahack, a hackathon event co-created with partners to develop innovative ideas for retail. Ecosystems open up new creative potential, enable co-creation, and establish trust between stakeholders, which is essential for companies.

Circular Economy is here to stay. From an environmental aspect its the right thing to do, but more important there is an enormous economic value to capture. Reducing risks of price volatility, creating better customer relationships, capturing value over the lifespan of a product are a couple of advantages that Circular Economy can deliver.
The key technologies and capability shifts that are supporting a transformation from a linear to a circular business model are based on an extensive research by Accenture among 125 circular pioneers. European COVID-19 Special - Slack Platform Community EventМартин Велковски
A joint event from the Slack Platform Community chapters in Berlin and Hamburg. Hosting two panels on the challenges in organizing initiatives and hackathons to tackle the pandemic and how communication platforms like Slack facilitate them. A full description of the event below.
-=================================
We have an exciting virtual event planned with a bunch of exceptional people. The highlight of the event will be two panel discussions.
During the first panel discussion, we'll host organizers and founders from various European initiatives tackling COVID19. We have panelists from EUvsVirus, The Global Hack, and Hacking COVID-19. We will discuss the general motivation behind getting involved and what were initial organizational challenges. Additionally, we'll touch upon the dilemma of choosing the tools, managing an ever-increasing Slack workspace with setting up onboarding processes, dealing with workflows, and similar. We are eager to hear where was Slack most useful, and what are the expected outcomes of the hackathons and the path forward.
The second-panel discussion will involve people from the Slack Platform team discussing the transition to remote work within Slack, what role do communication platforms play in times like these in pandemics. We will also touch upon the challenge of managing increased interest in Slack during the outbreaks and how Slack handled it.

Avoiding the Digital Death Spiral: Surviving & Thriving through understanding...Simon Tanner
Simon will consider how we can use a deeper understanding of value and impact to survive in an ever more competitive and confusing digital landscape. How do the cultural, heritage or creative sectors cope with the twin challenges of meeting the public desire for digital content whilst maintaining their curatorial responsibilities within what could be considered an unfunded mandate? Simon will investigate the values and benefits of digital with a consideration of the risks we face in what he refers to as the Digital Death Spiral. Simon will propose one solution in particular, The Balanced Value Impact Model (BVI Model) that he has recently developed. The BVI Model draws evidence from a wide range of sources to provide a compelling account of the means of measuring the impact of digital resources and using evidence to advocate how change benefits people. Simon will argue that putting people at the centre of our strategic thinking is both the most challenging and satisfying action we can take in securing our digital futures.

What is Digital transformation?
Far too often digital transformation is confused with Digitalization or with Digitization with a key focus on technologies or platform. But Digital transformation is not about technologies: it's about transforming the whole prganisation through a system thinking approach and it's about rethinking operational models, business models, processes, and policies, taking people, both employees and customers at the core of the process.
Because the goal of any digital transformation is to increase value creation for the business through digitally enhanced processes that increase internal efficiency and overall customer and employee satisfaction.
Digital transformation is en emergent need in today's post-industrial society: we moved fast from an industrial to a post-industrial era, however operational models and management practices haven't evolved fast enough.
For this reason, many organisations prefer to think of Digital transformation as the adoption of digital technologies on the top of mainly inefficient and obsolete operational models, rather than facing a true in depth transformation that begins with understanding the current culture, the customers, and the overall business.
These slides, were presented to students from IIM (india) at ESPC London on July 27th 2017 with the goal to provide tomorrow's digital leaders a broad vision of what is digital transformation by looking at what and the reasons why change is happening in the business world, define Digital transformation and its dimensions through the lenses of an Experience economy and a post-industrial era. The presentation also presents the Competing Value Framework as a key tool to start understanding organsation's culture and define a digital transformation roadmap and strategy.

Digital Commerce Lecture for Advanced Digital & Social Media Strategy at UCLA...Valters Lauzums
E-commerce in 2024 is characterized by a dynamic blend of opportunities and significant challenges. Supply chain disruptions and inventory shortages are critical issues, leading to increased shipping delays and rising costs, which impact timely delivery and squeeze profit margins. Efficient logistics management is essential, yet it is often hampered by these external factors. Payment processing, while needing to ensure security and user convenience, grapples with preventing fraud and integrating diverse payment methods, adding another layer of complexity. Furthermore, fulfillment operations require a streamlined approach to handle volume spikes and maintain accuracy in order picking, packing, and shipping, all while meeting customers' heightened expectations for faster delivery times.
Amid these operational challenges, customer data has emerged as an important strategy. By focusing on personalization and enhancing customer experience from historical behavior, businesses can deliver improved website and brand experienced, better product recommendations, optimal promotions, and content to meet individual preferences. Better data analytics can also help in effectively creating marketing campaigns, improving customer retention, and driving product development and inventory management.
Innovative formats such as social commerce and live shopping are beginning to impact the digital commerce landscape, offering new ways to engage with customers and drive sales, and may provide opportunity for brands that have been priced out or seen a downturn with post-pandemic shopping behavior. Social commerce integrates shopping experiences directly into social media platforms, tapping into the massive user bases of these networks to increase reach and engagement. Live shopping, on the other hand, combines entertainment and real-time interaction, providing a dynamic platform for showcasing products and encouraging immediate purchases. These innovations not only enhance customer engagement but also provide valuable data for businesses to refine their strategies and deliver superior shopping experiences.
The e-commerce sector is evolving rapidly, and businesses that effectively manage operational challenges and implement innovative strategies are best positioned for long-term success.
