1. When non-English speaking students are educated in both their native language and English, they're ability
to learn and speak English is greatly improved. Students learn English in a more effective manner and they
are able to continue learning core subjects such as math, history science and etc, as they transition to
speaking English.
2. According to a Georgetown University study , they came up with the following results
- In 8th grade, being bilingual appears to be beneficial for math and reading achievement; it is associated with
a 0.048 and 0.056 standard deviation increase in math and reading test scores respectively. In the other
grades, being bilingual seems to be good for math (except in kindergarten) and neutral for reading
3. Strengthening in the executive function, cognitive memory and pronunciation proficiency is what results in
better grades and education for students.

-According to the United States Census Bureau, the Hispanic
population of the US reached 57.5 million people in 2016. That
is nearly 18 percent of the population of the United States.
- In addition, the creation of N.A.F.T.A has proved that
language is very important for business since it it was
determined that all goods and products imported and exported
in North America must include the three principal languages
spoken by the population which is English, French and
Spanish.
-In Florida, workers who speak both Spanish and English
earn $7,000 a year more than those who only speak English.
This is because the knowledge of a second language is seen
a sign of cognitive power and perseverance.

-More than 29 million Latinos are eligible to vote nationwide in 2018, making up 12.8% of all eligible voters – both new
highs, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of Census Bureau data.
- Four years ago, a total of $23 million was spent on Spanish-language ads in the 2012 presidential race by Obama,
Romney and their backers..
- Politicians such as Rick Scott have used bilingualism to spread their message throughout America. Rick Scott released a
thirty second Spanish ad to separate himself from Donald Trump after he questioned the approximately 3,000 deaths in
Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria.
