The Impact of Space Exploration Essay
The continuation of space exploration is vital to the human race because it is a clear expression of the human's desire to expand themselves, and
advance further in knowledge and experience in such a way that has improved the conditions of living. The launch of the International Space Station is
among one of its greatest achievements. "On January 25th, 1994, The International Space Station was the highlight of a moment brimming with
promise" (Logsdon, 2008 p.237). This moment not only helped to define both technology and the economy as successful beneficiaries of Space
Exploration, but also as a historically inspirational scientific development. I support continued space exploration because the discoveries and

the tools for studying the human body. Many lives that have been saved and preserved as a result of the medical advances made possible by
spaceā€“related programs, and this demonstrates the values and benefits that the space program has already achieved, and suggests what may be in
it's future if it is continued. The space program has also played its role in contributing to the economical needs of the United States, including the
preservation and locating of food and water supplies. According to researchers, "Land satellites (or "landsats") today can help measure the
condition of wheat, which helps to identify and isolate potential disease that could be spreading among the crops" (Neil, 2013, p. 134). Another
purpose of these landsats is to monitor freshwater supplies. "With an increasing need for locating water supplies, these devices help to not only
locate thousands of temporary small lakes in the Southwest U. S, but they also enable the ability to locate subsurface water supplies near cities or
areas in desperate need of irrigation" (Neil, 2013, p. 134). All of these are great examples of how the space programs have made a positive impact, by
helping to support The United States

Space Exploration Thesis Statement
Thesis Statement: Space exploration would help achieve a better future, pursuit the economy, and increase raw material.
Looking down the road, space exploration and the benefits it yields in medicine and information technology should not be overlooked.
Mars exploration is one of the most important future upcoming concepts for colonization. To pursue these goals, all of our future missions will be
driven by scientific questions that will continuously evolve as we make new discoveries. New technologies will let us explore mars in ways we have
before, concluding in higher resolution images, and even the return of Martian soil for studies in laboratories on Earth. New technologies will let us

Persuasive Speech About Space Exploration
I.Preparation before the Space Exploration:
As travelling in the space is a lifeā€“threatening task, astronauts must go through the Astronaut Training Program before they can go for their space
mission. This training educates the astronauts of various scenario of issues that they might face while being on the space and teaches them how they
should behave under those circumstances. Astronauts need to go through a medical examination as well, which determines if the astronauts are fit
physically for the space travel and would be able to carry out various research work, while they are out in the space. They must also train their body
for weightlessness 12 meters underwater or in microgravity on a zeroā€“g flight, so that they would get an idea...show more content...
No one could have predicted how important the innovation created by the space scientist to explore the space, could be used in the Earth in different
ways to improve the quality of life. In fact, numerous societal benefits have been experienced by the space exploration missions.
For example, the first satellite which was invented to research the space environment contributed to some critical findings that helped us develop global
positioning tools and advance in weather forecasting. In addition to that, space exploration has contributed various useful technologies such as solar
panels to implant heart monitors, cancer treatment, camera in our phone, to improved computing system.
One of the most important reason for us to continue space exploration is to realize that earth has its limitation. According to a 2012 UN Program for
the Environment report, earth has a carrying capacity of 8ā€“16 billion people. Since, we already have surpassed 7 billion, we really need to look for a
place to put all these people, or we might end up destroying all the animal habitats so that more skyscrapers could be built in accommodate the needs
of growing population. In addition to it, growing population is also causing the natural resources to be used up quickly. Only possible solution that
anyone can see to these major problems is to find a place in space to colonize, as in the space, there is unlimited resources. Hence, space

IS SPACE EXPLORATION WORTH THE COST?
It has been more than half a century since humans first ventured into space, and safely came back to the Earth, bringing stories, findings and
exploration success that still leave people wondering in awe hitherto. The phrase "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" has been
eternalized ever since astronaut Neil Armstrong stepped foot on the moon. Continuing Apollo 11's triumphant trace,NASA and the other remarkable
space agencies around the world never rest to keep putting efforts for more innovative missions towards the solar system. In line with the continuous
progress of space exploration, a renowned English mountaineer, George Mallory emphasizes:

This exploration is crucial not only to quench humans' curiosity, but it is also important for the future of Mother Earth and all its inhabitants.
Therefore, knowing that money itself cannot solve all the problems in the world will make banning the space exploration, which indeed has brought
greater goodness to this planet, sounds injudicious. Clearly, space missions are not a snag on the economy as it generates more than the wealth it
spends. Keith Cowing, the founder and editor of NASAwatch.com and the former NASA space biologist, stated that all the money is spent on Earthā€“
it creates jobs and provides business to companies, just as any other government program does. I believe, because there are hope and confidence that
the future world is going to be better, people still want to contribute to achieve that goal, while lack of hope and confidence will drag people to be
selfish and paranoid. As to space exploration, it has always been adhered to visions of a future being fulfilled with technological wonders,
mindā€“blowing breakthroughs and a home much better than the one we live on now. Not to be naŠ“Š‡ve that those visions must not all come true, but the
ones accomplished after all the hard endeavors will indeed help to promise a much better

Space Exploration Essay
Space exploration has always been fascinating. It gives us hope of finding something new. Humans have always been explorers. When people from
old times didn't know about unknown lands they were compelled to explore them. The idea of space exploration has a sense of mystery and
excitement about it. We have achieved some of the goals but not all. Through our space probes we were able to find new planets stars and even
galaxies. Space exploration should continue because it could help solve many problems on Earth, such as overpopulation and lack of resources. There
are many reasons that space exploration should continue. If Earth ever becomes too overpopulated or over polluted, then perhaps people can move to
Mars. But not everyone agrees on...show more content...
If we continue space exploration we could probably find a planet that has water or oxygen. The movie wallā€“e was a great example. The grownā€“ups and
children had to go into space and live in a giant space ship because the world ended. That is most likely to happen to us if the earth just becomes a
dump. Space exploration uses millions of dollars so people could go to different planets and get samples and search for life on other planets. We have
so far found no life in our solar system but based on other research we have found other planets that have water and that you can actually breathe on
them and that have their own solar system. Exploring is good but not to do it whenever they like, they should use exploration for something good,
whenever we actually have problems out there. There is yet a lot to discover what really lies beyond our solar system is there life on others planets
are we alone in this universe. We can get these questions answered if we or NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) put a little time
and money. Since population on earth have been increasing intensively NASA recently have found three planets that may have the atmosphere or the
right amount of chemicals to start a life. Well money was not totally wasted because of what we find every day. But this is also making a decline in
society while we take care of things outside our world we need to look inside

Argumentative Essay On Space Exploration
Throughout history, humans have been fascinated by the unknown, which includes outer space. We believe it is not necessary to spend valuable
taxpayer dollars to fund a doubtful cause. The government must reconsider the sources spent on space exploration. Spending tax payers' money to
explore space is a waste of time, resources, and does not benefit anyone. The country should unite as one to forbid explorers from draining precious
time trying to discover life in outer space. Though life may exist in space, that does not mean "aliens will come and attack." More advanced
technology should not exist outside of earth, which would make it impossible for creatures to come and take over the universe. If there is a possibility
of life outside the galaxy, the residents of the United States would not be able to do anything about it....show more content...
There is not an endless supply of water, therefore once water is used up, it is unattainable, no one will be able to do anything about it. Since water
is used everyday, it may not be gone, same goes for money. Money is how people are living in this world. Money is used to buy food, houses, to
survive and live your life. "The amount of money that is spent on NASA's coffers is $17 billion and $5.3 billion will be to space exploration" (Source
E). With that amount of money, there would be no poverty in United States. Poverty is a huge problem, although it may not concern everyone, there is
a point in life where you will experience poverty. The government should be capable of banning the word poverty, allowing poverty to end in this
country. Instead of space exploration, money can be put into ending hunger, preventing crimes, and have better education if $22.5 billion dollars were
saved and put to lives of human in need. Instead of wasting time and money on useless activities, spend it on something helpful to the

The Benefits of Space Exploration Essay
Mankind has always been fascinated with exploring the unknown. From sailing to distant lands to someday setting foot on other planets, the spirit of
exploration is the same. Bur now with the current economic situation and the high cost of sending people to space, NASA is being looked at as a way
to free up some much needed funds. Although, there is many problems here on planet Earth that need addressing, the benefits of space exploration far
out weight the disadvantages. Space exploration has given us more advanced technology, advances in the medical field, and a boost to the economy and
these facts cannot be disputed.

There is also a huge risk of the spread of sickness because astronauts live in such close quarters. "During space travel, exposure to microgravity,
radiation, and stress alter human immunoregulatory responses, which can in turn impact an astronaut's ability to prevent acquisition of infectious
agents or reactivation of latent infection. In addition, microgravity affects virulence, growth kinetics, and biofilm formation of potential microbial
pathogens." (Mermel, 2013) This just shows some of the possible risks astronauts may encounter during a prolonged space flight such as one to the
moon or another planet. Because of all these risks NASA has created an extensive screening process and materials to help counter the spread of
disease and infection in a space craft. These advances not only help astronauts but they also have applications for us on earth. We have already seen
many of these "spin off" technologies like the implantable pacemaker, Lasik eye surgery and the MRI and CAT scan.
Space exploration has and will continue to provide a large boost to the economy. "Missions such as the launch and operation of communications and
remote sensing satellites, scientific satellites and, of course, military surveillance satellites, have been the stockā€“inā€“trade of the commercial sector for
decades, and represent an industry worth S300ā€“billion annually." (Watson, 2013) Not only is there a lot of money in the business of sending

The space age began as a race for security and prestige between two superpowers. The opportunities were boundless, and the decades that followed
have seen a radical transformation in the way we live our daily lives, in large part due to our use of space. Space systems have taken us to other
celestial bodies and extended humankind's horizons back in time to the very first moments of the universe and out to the galaxies at its far reaches.

challenges. But this cannot be the responsibility of the United States alone. All nations have the right to use and explore space, but with this right also
come responsibility. The United States, therefore, calls on all nations to work together to adopt approaches for responsible activity in space to preserve
this right for the benefit of future generations. From the outset of humanity's ascent into space, this Nation declared its commitment to enhance the

Space Exploration Is Important
Space Exploration Is Important
Ever since I was young, it was my dream to one day explore space and travel the universe. In my mind's eye, I could imagine myself discovering
new planets, searching for distant stars and exploring all the great vastness of space. However not everybody sees space exploration the same way.
Many say that it is a waste of time and more importantly, money. They say, "Why should we spend money onspace exploration when there are so many
problems here on earth?"
I often wonder if such criticism were said to our European ancestors, who dared to explore on wooden ships to discover The New World.
Honorable judges, esteemed teachers, fellow students. It is my firm belief that space exploration is not only important, but necessary. Not just to satisfy
human curiosity of the great unknown, but it is also important for the technology gained, its benefits to the economy, and the future of earth and the
survival of all living on it.
To begin with, space exploration allows for new technologies to be made. Space exploration brings a lot of smart people from a wide array of fields
and puts them together to find solutions for difficult problems. The results can be explosive (literally), but they can also result in many useful
inventions. Inventions such as the insulin pump, which was invented by NASA in the late 80's to automatically inject insulin in astronauts. NASA also
invented much of the stuff we use in our everyday lives, such as edible toothpaste

Pros And Cons Of Space Exploration
Space exploration can lead to a giant leap for mankind. However, it is also criticized for not having achieved any major scientific breakthroughs.
While some believe that space exploration and research in the field has many advantages, there are others who criticize the field for having no real
benefit for mankind. As a people we need to decide what is the best course of action regarding space exploration, but in order to do that, we need to
become educated. What are the pros and cons of space exploration?
One reason myriad proponents argue that space travel is a good thing is because of the potential to discover life. Most exploration of the cosmos has
revolved around finding planets with the same environment as earth's. Somewhere in...show more content...
We always equate space exploration with the discovery of life or materials that could useful for mankind. however, this may not be the case,
exploring space may land us in trouble. In space, we may find something that is dangerous or even lethal to the life on Earth. We may discover
something that can be harmful to the living beings on our planet. In an article by Dave Mosher, science and technology correspondent at Business
Insider, "Space Makes Bacteria More Dangerous", Mosher states, "Bacteria express different sets of genes in different environments to ensure
their survival. Inhospitable conditions, for example, can turn on a "master switch" in some bacteria and allow the microbes to form tough spores
that can survive the extreme conditions of space" (Mosher). Space can alter forms of life and even material. Space is different than our living
conditions here on earth, and different is not always a good thing. This change can be very dangerous for life on earth and even threaten our
existence. We need to be careful with what our space exploration brings. Along with space exploration comes space research, this research can bring
many changes in our lives. It can lead to new discoveries in science and open doors too much information. In fact, space exploration has already
benefited us in many ways. For example, space satellites help locate minerals and fossil fuels. Due to our knowledge of the sun, we have been able to
harness solar energy. Currently

Persuasive Essay About Space Exploration
Should we stay home or go out to explore the endless possibilities in the space? America was the first one to send two men, Neil Armstrong and pilot
Buzz Aldrin on the moon, on July 20, 1969. In the photo it shows the full body photo of Neil Armstrong on the moon. Shows him working at the
apollo 11 Lunar module ''Eagle''. nonetheless, we have not gone back since our first landing on the moon. We've sent satellites into orbit. Not to
mention the Mars exploration rover and the Curiosity rover. Yet we have not made significant progress in space aside from low earth satellites and the
ISS.
Despite the risk factors of exploring space, there are many sensible reasons to explore the orbit such as the economic benefit, longā€“term survival and
scientific discovery.
Three of the economic benefits of exploring the space are engineering jobs, mining asteroids, and entertainment. First of all, space exploration has a big
impact on creating jobs. Space exploration does not only involve scientists and astronauts, it also involves people with professional backgrounds such
as engineering, research assistant, mechanical, technicians and other professionals. Also, there are many companies competing for space tourism
business industries and because of this business all the jobs that are available now did not exist a decade ago and if space exploration, or NASA in
general, stops today many of these people will be jobless.
Second beneficial reason for exploring space is mining asteroids.

Many people think that nothing more can be done with space exploration. The assumption that there is nothing more that we can achieve with space

These predicted advances have surpassed what we had only imagined at the onset of space exploration. Throughout our short history of space travel,
we have made many advances in medicine and had several medical breakthroughs due in part to space exploration."There have been many advances

NASA is now used to construct less expensive, better molds for artificial prosthetics, programmable pacemakers, tools for cataract surgery, automatic
insulin pumps, implantable heart defibrillators", the list of medical advances due to space exploration goes on and on. There is no reason to believe
that we have reached the end for medical advances due to space exploration, rather we have only merely scratched the surface.
Space exploration stimulates the economy and generates wealth in the form of royalties. The NASA budget is small in comparison to the total GDP
(gross domestic product). Royalties that generate wealth for the economy are in the form of patents and licenses that go directly into the National
Treasury. "Space exploration is not a drain on the economy; it generates infinitely more wealth than it spends. Royalties on NASA patents and

Space exploration has brought with it numerous advances and changes to the world. Included in these changes are the significant impacts to America's
cultural landscape. America's cultural perception has been shaped by fear, patriotism, and a division between the Country. Throughout Margaret
Lazarus Dean's memoir Leaving Orbit, she explored many of these changes as they happened throughout the almost sixty years that American's, and the
world, have been leaving Earth. Dean delves into the initial launches throughout the 50's and 60's, describing both the unease and loyalty to country
that drove space flight forward and allowed for the cultural landscape American's live in today.
One of the first cultural changes that came with the space program occurred before America's first capsule even left the Earth. The American people's
fright over what the Soviets could do with this new technology of space travel was the driving factor into pushing for space flight. Fear grew
exponentially in the late fifties and early sixties as the first Russian satellites were launched and the possibilities of what the Soviet Union could do with
those capabilities weighed heavily on American minds. "[T]he degree to which Americans were shaken by Sputnik is all but incomprehensible to
people born too late to remember the Cold War... And what was to stop it from raining weapons down upon Americans from that vantage point... It is
fair to say the Sputnik completely changed the way Americans in positions

Why Robotic Space Exploration is Better than Human Space Exploration
The space is a marvelous place where it is fated for humans to go and explore, just like how humans explored the new world back in the Medieval
age. For the past decades, people have sent up men and women, and machines to the space for the sake of space exploration. Even with this great
amount of time, the debate over Robots Vs. Humans for space exploration hasn't come to a settle yet. With that said, Robot Vs. Human Space
Exploration will be discussed, and it will be emphasized on why Robotic Space Mission is better than Human Space Mission.

To back up that point, the "TAM!" talk show, which was held in Las Vegas 2011, supported the fact that the cost of each man being sent to space
would is way more expensive than sending out probes into the space (Neil Tyson). It was described that one manned exploration would be equal
to the amount of doing hundreds to thousands of robotic space program (Neil Tyson). Using a comparison, it would have been logical to send a
few probes to investigate a planet, rather than sending a few people to the planet, which may not make much difference. Even if the robots used
were to have a shorter life expectancy, the overall cost of making another would still far less than sending two people up to the space. The
tremendous cost to pay for a human space program also would never give a 100% certainty for the safety of those astronaut in the far distance
space. In the case of emergency, help would be too far away to reach them on time. If robots were to die, money and time could be used to solve the
problem. If it were humans who were in emergency, not only money and time that has to be dealt with, but also the social fear and hate that would
arise and heavily impact the idea of space travel. The case of emergency relates to the next point that humans are rather fragile and unpredictable on
alien living condition, compared to robots which could endure harsher condition.
Assuming we have to send people out to study planets like Neptune,

Space Exploration is an interesting part of today's society. There are kids across the world with lifelong dreams of becoming an astronaut. Although
many may think space exploration is a great thing and we should keep progressing in it, space exploration is a waste of time because of the medical
effects to crew members, the countless money we spend on it, the environmental effects, and the dangers of the unknown universe.
The medical effects space exploration has on crew members in space are endless. First the crew members' prolonged exposure to reduced gravity

Pharmaceutical countermeasures are also being evaluated for their ability to mitigate the harmful effects of space radiation.
Scientific discoveries made by the CSRR will not only enable safe and productive human exploration of space, but may also have the potential to
improve life on Earth. Although this is true, Radiation exposure can lead to many health problems, including acute effects such as nausea, vomiting,
fatigue, skin injury and changes to white blood cell counts and the immune system. LongerŠ’term radiation effects include damage to the eyes,
gastrointestinal system, lungs and central nervous system. Exposure also increases cancer risk (Ann R. Kennedy).
Another reason space exploration should be concluded is the effects of the countless money we spend on space exploration. The budget for space
exploration is 17.7 Billion a year. The total cost in all of the years of space exploration is 780 billion dollars (Amadeo). One may point out that this
money in the long run can help discover amazing things. Although this is true, some possible ways this money could've been and can be used are to
lower the national debt of 60 trillion dollars, reduce poverty in underdeveloped countries, reduce world hunger, and decrease global warming. World
hunger could be ended for 30 billion a year, meaning no one would be hungry for 26 years if we had used that 780 billion dollars on

For centuries the human race has survived to venture past our planet end in to the vast and copious field of stars. Through years of research and
discovery scientists have been able to instruct rockets and take us beyond our homeland. Physics and science apply to almost every aspect of space
exploration. A few examples of this arerocket propulsion, the forces on a rocket, and the human body in space. Some people believe space
exploration is a bad idea because it costs a lot of money that could go to other governmentā€“funded programs, there are many unforeseen risks from
failures launch or radiation from the Sun, and the discovery of new civilizations could lead to a repeat of history where we take advantage of
civilization and ravage them. I believe that space exploration is a good idea because It can help us detect and divert dangerous asteroids, help us
discover new habitable planets, and it corresponds with the human nature to explore discover and learn.
To explore space you must first find a way to get there. Space programs such as NASA have used and still use various forms of rockets to get to space.
These rockets consists of solid propellant rocket, liquid bibropellantpellant chemical rockets, liquid monopropellant rockets, thermonuclear plasma
rockets, and photon rockets. Despite being vastly different they all share one characteristic... They have the ability to produce thrust (NASA). Thrust
enables the rocket or projectile to ascend upward against the force of gravity. A rocket faces many forces as it goes up to space and leaves our
atmosphere. The rocket is met with weight, thrust, lift, and drag. Considering these forces are vectors they have a direction and magnitude (Benson).
Rockets are outfitted with a group of astronauts within them and an extensive communication team on the ground. The astronauts bodies are affected
by space once they leave the atmosphere of Earth. One of the issues that astronauts face is the excess amount of harmful radiation in space. They have
to endure 10 times more radiation in space than on Earth. Radiation can cause cancer in humans and is very dangerous in large doses. Another issue
they face is the mental deterioration that face from isolation in

Since then, we have found that an infinite supply of knowledge and resources await us just outside our atmosphere. Today, however, critics are

Though space exploration has remained a symbol of the government that most look up to and think highly of, recent budget cuts have raised cause for
concern. In the 2013 article "Budget Gains For Physical Sciences Will Be Uncertain At Best", author David Kramer states "The President has proposed
a combination of tax increases and cuts to entitlement programs to pay for the increased spending. Leadership of the Republicanā€“controlled House of
Representatives has made clear its opposition of tax increases" (para. 3). With the threat of Congress cutting NASA 's budget, the United State 's
sixty year preeminence in space exploration is in serious peril. Many suggest that our space programs and some aspects of space exploration be
funded by the private sector. While this may benefit programs such as NASA shortā€“term, the complete takeover by the private sector would prove
detrimental. NASA is a large organization with an even bigger budget, though it has no way of generating revenue to sustain missions. However, if
government funding is completely lost, NASA will have to depend solely on funding from corporations, causing it to be split into multiple small,
private entities which would generate profit, causing the NASA as we know it to cease to

Conclusion On Space Exploration
ABSTRACT Space travel has become a growing event in the world and has assisted in advancing our knowledge as well as providing information
about the solar system. As the human race continues to grow, the need for resources continues to grow as well and finding new places to inhabit as
well as being able to find new resources is becoming more important. The issue that needs to be addressed currently is the air quality onboard the
space habitats, stations and vehicles. There have been advancements in that section, but new challenges arise that have negative impacts on the crew.
Despite these issues, however, there is not an immediate need to stop space exploration as long as these issues are being worked on.
INTRODUCTION Space travel has become an event of growing importance since the first venture in the late 1950s. Humans are driven to explore
the unknown, discover new worlds, and push the boundaries of scientific and technical limits [1]. Space exploration can feed the human knowledge
base as well as open the doors for new resources that can potentially be gathered from other worlds. However, this poses a challenge for the people
who man the space vehicles during an expedition. Though the technology has improved significantly towards the removal of most harmful gases, there
are still issues with air quality on board these celestial habitats such as trace contaminants from equipment and microorganisms. DISCUSSION Air
quality on earth is controlled by the earth's

The Impact Of Space Exploration Essay

  • 1. The Impact of Space Exploration Essay The continuation of space exploration is vital to the human race because it is a clear expression of the human's desire to expand themselves, and advance further in knowledge and experience in such a way that has improved the conditions of living. The launch of the International Space Station is among one of its greatest achievements. "On January 25th, 1994, The International Space Station was the highlight of a moment brimming with promise" (Logsdon, 2008 p.237). This moment not only helped to define both technology and the economy as successful beneficiaries of Space Exploration, but also as a historically inspirational scientific development. I support continued space exploration because the discoveries and innovations that...show more content... 137). In addition to that, the space programs have given the medical profession a better understanding of how a healthy human functions, as well as the tools for studying the human body. Many lives that have been saved and preserved as a result of the medical advances made possible by spaceā€“related programs, and this demonstrates the values and benefits that the space program has already achieved, and suggests what may be in it's future if it is continued. The space program has also played its role in contributing to the economical needs of the United States, including the preservation and locating of food and water supplies. According to researchers, "Land satellites (or "landsats") today can help measure the condition of wheat, which helps to identify and isolate potential disease that could be spreading among the crops" (Neil, 2013, p. 134). Another purpose of these landsats is to monitor freshwater supplies. "With an increasing need for locating water supplies, these devices help to not only locate thousands of temporary small lakes in the Southwest U. S, but they also enable the ability to locate subsurface water supplies near cities or areas in desperate need of irrigation" (Neil, 2013, p. 134). All of these are great examples of how the space programs have made a positive impact, by helping to support The United States Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Space Exploration Thesis Statement Thesis Statement: Space exploration would help achieve a better future, pursuit the economy, and increase raw material. Looking down the road, space exploration and the benefits it yields in medicine and information technology should not be overlooked. Mars exploration is one of the most important future upcoming concepts for colonization. To pursue these goals, all of our future missions will be driven by scientific questions that will continuously evolve as we make new discoveries. New technologies will let us explore mars in ways we have before, concluding in higher resolution images, and even the return of Martian soil for studies in laboratories on Earth. • 3. Persuasive Speech About Space Exploration I.Preparation before the Space Exploration: As travelling in the space is a lifeā€“threatening task, astronauts must go through the Astronaut Training Program before they can go for their space mission. This training educates the astronauts of various scenario of issues that they might face while being on the space and teaches them how they should behave under those circumstances. Astronauts need to go through a medical examination as well, which determines if the astronauts are fit physically for the space travel and would be able to carry out various research work, while they are out in the space. They must also train their body for weightlessness 12 meters underwater or in microgravity on a zeroā€“g flight, so that they would get an idea...show more content... No one could have predicted how important the innovation created by the space scientist to explore the space, could be used in the Earth in different ways to improve the quality of life. In fact, numerous societal benefits have been experienced by the space exploration missions. For example, the first satellite which was invented to research the space environment contributed to some critical findings that helped us develop global positioning tools and advance in weather forecasting. In addition to that, space exploration has contributed various useful technologies such as solar panels to implant heart monitors, cancer treatment, camera in our phone, to improved computing system. One of the most important reason for us to continue space exploration is to realize that earth has its limitation. According to a 2012 UN Program for the Environment report, earth has a carrying capacity of 8ā€“16 billion people. Since, we already have surpassed 7 billion, we really need to look for a place to put all these people, or we might end up destroying all the animal habitats so that more skyscrapers could be built in accommodate the needs of growing population. In addition to it, growing population is also causing the natural resources to be used up quickly. Only possible solution that anyone can see to these major problems is to find a place in space to colonize, as in the space, there is unlimited resources. Hence, space Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Advantages Of Space Exploration Essay IS SPACE EXPLORATION WORTH THE COST? It has been more than half a century since humans first ventured into space, and safely came back to the Earth, bringing stories, findings and exploration success that still leave people wondering in awe hitherto. The phrase "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" has been eternalized ever since astronaut Neil Armstrong stepped foot on the moon. Continuing Apollo 11's triumphant trace,NASA and the other remarkable space agencies around the world never rest to keep putting efforts for more innovative missions towards the solar system. In line with the continuous progress of space exploration, a renowned English mountaineer, George Mallory emphasizes: Exploration is intrinsic to human's nature....show more content... This exploration is crucial not only to quench humans' curiosity, but it is also important for the future of Mother Earth and all its inhabitants. Therefore, knowing that money itself cannot solve all the problems in the world will make banning the space exploration, which indeed has brought greater goodness to this planet, sounds injudicious. Clearly, space missions are not a snag on the economy as it generates more than the wealth it spends. Keith Cowing, the founder and editor of NASAwatch.com and the former NASA space biologist, stated that all the money is spent on Earthā€“ it creates jobs and provides business to companies, just as any other government program does. I believe, because there are hope and confidence that the future world is going to be better, people still want to contribute to achieve that goal, while lack of hope and confidence will drag people to be selfish and paranoid. As to space exploration, it has always been adhered to visions of a future being fulfilled with technological wonders, mindā€“blowing breakthroughs and a home much better than the one we live on now. Not to be naŠ“Š‡ve that those visions must not all come true, but the ones accomplished after all the hard endeavors will indeed help to promise a much better Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Space Exploration Essay Space exploration has always been fascinating. It gives us hope of finding something new. Humans have always been explorers. When people from old times didn't know about unknown lands they were compelled to explore them. The idea of space exploration has a sense of mystery and excitement about it. We have achieved some of the goals but not all. Through our space probes we were able to find new planets stars and even galaxies. Space exploration should continue because it could help solve many problems on Earth, such as overpopulation and lack of resources. There are many reasons that space exploration should continue. If Earth ever becomes too overpopulated or over polluted, then perhaps people can move to Mars. But not everyone agrees on...show more content... If we continue space exploration we could probably find a planet that has water or oxygen. The movie wallā€“e was a great example. The grownā€“ups and children had to go into space and live in a giant space ship because the world ended. That is most likely to happen to us if the earth just becomes a dump. Space exploration uses millions of dollars so people could go to different planets and get samples and search for life on other planets. We have so far found no life in our solar system but based on other research we have found other planets that have water and that you can actually breathe on them and that have their own solar system. Exploring is good but not to do it whenever they like, they should use exploration for something good, whenever we actually have problems out there. There is yet a lot to discover what really lies beyond our solar system is there life on others planets are we alone in this universe. We can get these questions answered if we or NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) put a little time and money. Since population on earth have been increasing intensively NASA recently have found three planets that may have the atmosphere or the right amount of chemicals to start a life. Well money was not totally wasted because of what we find every day. But this is also making a decline in society while we take care of things outside our world we need to look inside Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Argumentative Essay On Space Exploration Throughout history, humans have been fascinated by the unknown, which includes outer space. We believe it is not necessary to spend valuable taxpayer dollars to fund a doubtful cause. The government must reconsider the sources spent on space exploration. Spending tax payers' money to explore space is a waste of time, resources, and does not benefit anyone. The country should unite as one to forbid explorers from draining precious time trying to discover life in outer space. Though life may exist in space, that does not mean "aliens will come and attack." More advanced technology should not exist outside of earth, which would make it impossible for creatures to come and take over the universe. If there is a possibility of life outside the galaxy, the residents of the United States would not be able to do anything about it....show more content... There is not an endless supply of water, therefore once water is used up, it is unattainable, no one will be able to do anything about it. Since water is used everyday, it may not be gone, same goes for money. Money is how people are living in this world. Money is used to buy food, houses, to survive and live your life. "The amount of money that is spent on NASA's coffers is $17 billion and $5.3 billion will be to space exploration" (Source E). With that amount of money, there would be no poverty in United States. Poverty is a huge problem, although it may not concern everyone, there is a point in life where you will experience poverty. The government should be capable of banning the word poverty, allowing poverty to end in this country. Instead of space exploration, money can be put into ending hunger, preventing crimes, and have better education if $22.5 billion dollars were saved and put to lives of human in need. Instead of wasting time and money on useless activities, spend it on something helpful to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. The Benefits of Space Exploration Essay Mankind has always been fascinated with exploring the unknown. From sailing to distant lands to someday setting foot on other planets, the spirit of exploration is the same. Bur now with the current economic situation and the high cost of sending people to space, NASA is being looked at as a way to free up some much needed funds. Although, there is many problems here on planet Earth that need addressing, the benefits of space exploration far out weight the disadvantages. Space exploration has given us more advanced technology, advances in the medical field, and a boost to the economy and these facts cannot be disputed. Since we first sent rockets into Earths orbit, we have been pushing the technological boundaries in order to reach new...show more content... There is also a huge risk of the spread of sickness because astronauts live in such close quarters. "During space travel, exposure to microgravity, radiation, and stress alter human immunoregulatory responses, which can in turn impact an astronaut's ability to prevent acquisition of infectious agents or reactivation of latent infection. In addition, microgravity affects virulence, growth kinetics, and biofilm formation of potential microbial pathogens." (Mermel, 2013) This just shows some of the possible risks astronauts may encounter during a prolonged space flight such as one to the moon or another planet. Because of all these risks NASA has created an extensive screening process and materials to help counter the spread of disease and infection in a space craft. These advances not only help astronauts but they also have applications for us on earth. We have already seen many of these "spin off" technologies like the implantable pacemaker, Lasik eye surgery and the MRI and CAT scan. Space exploration has and will continue to provide a large boost to the economy. "Missions such as the launch and operation of communications and remote sensing satellites, scientific satellites and, of course, military surveillance satellites, have been the stockā€“inā€“trade of the commercial sector for decades, and represent an industry worth S300ā€“billion annually." (Watson, 2013) Not only is there a lot of money in the business of sending Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay about Space Exploration Aaron McNamara Mr. Kerner 04/17/13 Space Exploration The space age began as a race for security and prestige between two superpowers. The opportunities were boundless, and the decades that followed have seen a radical transformation in the way we live our daily lives, in large part due to our use of space. Space systems have taken us to other celestial bodies and extended humankind's horizons back in time to the very first moments of the universe and out to the galaxies at its far reaches. Satellites contribute to increased transparency and stability among nations and provide a vital communications path for avoiding potential conflicts. Space systems increase our knowledge in many scientific fields, and life on Earth is far...show more content... For example: Decades of space activity have littered Earth's orbit with debris; and as the world's spaceā€“faring nations continue to increase activities in space, the chance for a collision increases correspondingly. As the leading spaceā€“faring nation, the United States is committed to addressing these challenges. But this cannot be the responsibility of the United States alone. All nations have the right to use and explore space, but with this right also come responsibility. The United States, therefore, calls on all nations to work together to adopt approaches for responsible activity in space to preserve this right for the benefit of future generations. From the outset of humanity's ascent into space, this Nation declared its commitment to enhance the welfare of humankind by cooperating with others to maintain the freedom of space. The United States hereby renews its pledge of cooperation in the belief that with strengthened international collaboration and reinvigorated U.S. Leadership, all nations and peoplesā€“spaceā€“faring and spaceā€“benefitingā€“will find their horizons broadened, their knowledge enhanced, and their lives greatly improved Advocates of space exploration often get asked the question: "Why should we spend money on NASA when there is an abundance of problems here on Earth?" Universe Today has been compiling a list of responses to this question by spaceā€“bloggers from across the web. Check it out, there are some great answers. In response to

  • 10. Space Exploration Is Important Space Exploration Is Important Ever since I was young, it was my dream to one day explore space and travel the universe. In my mind's eye, I could imagine myself discovering new planets, searching for distant stars and exploring all the great vastness of space. However not everybody sees space exploration the same way. Many say that it is a waste of time and more importantly, money. They say, "Why should we spend money onspace exploration when there are so many problems here on earth?" I often wonder if such criticism were said to our European ancestors, who dared to explore on wooden ships to discover The New World. Honorable judges, esteemed teachers, fellow students. It is my firm belief that space exploration is not only important, but necessary. Not just to satisfy human curiosity of the great unknown, but it is also important for the technology gained, its benefits to the economy, and the future of earth and the survival of all living on it. To begin with, space exploration allows for new technologies to be made. Space exploration brings a lot of smart people from a wide array of fields and puts them together to find solutions for difficult problems. The results can be explosive (literally), but they can also result in many useful inventions. Inventions such as the insulin pump, which was invented by NASA in the late 80's to automatically inject insulin in astronauts. • 11. Pros And Cons Of Space Exploration Space exploration can lead to a giant leap for mankind. However, it is also criticized for not having achieved any major scientific breakthroughs. While some believe that space exploration and research in the field has many advantages, there are others who criticize the field for having no real benefit for mankind. As a people we need to decide what is the best course of action regarding space exploration, but in order to do that, we need to become educated. What are the pros and cons of space exploration? One reason myriad proponents argue that space travel is a good thing is because of the potential to discover life. Most exploration of the cosmos has revolved around finding planets with the same environment as earth's. Somewhere in...show more content... We always equate space exploration with the discovery of life or materials that could useful for mankind. however, this may not be the case, exploring space may land us in trouble. In space, we may find something that is dangerous or even lethal to the life on Earth. We may discover something that can be harmful to the living beings on our planet. In an article by Dave Mosher, science and technology correspondent at Business Insider, "Space Makes Bacteria More Dangerous", Mosher states, "Bacteria express different sets of genes in different environments to ensure their survival. Inhospitable conditions, for example, can turn on a "master switch" in some bacteria and allow the microbes to form tough spores that can survive the extreme conditions of space" (Mosher). Space can alter forms of life and even material. Space is different than our living conditions here on earth, and different is not always a good thing. This change can be very dangerous for life on earth and even threaten our existence. We need to be careful with what our space exploration brings. Along with space exploration comes space research, this research can bring many changes in our lives. It can lead to new discoveries in science and open doors too much information. In fact, space exploration has already benefited us in many ways. For example, space satellites help locate minerals and fossil fuels. Due to our knowledge of the sun, we have been able to harness solar energy. Currently Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Essay About Space Exploration Should we stay home or go out to explore the endless possibilities in the space? America was the first one to send two men, Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin on the moon, on July 20, 1969. In the photo it shows the full body photo of Neil Armstrong on the moon. Shows him working at the apollo 11 Lunar module ''Eagle''. nonetheless, we have not gone back since our first landing on the moon. We've sent satellites into orbit. Not to mention the Mars exploration rover and the Curiosity rover. Yet we have not made significant progress in space aside from low earth satellites and the ISS. Despite the risk factors of exploring space, there are many sensible reasons to explore the orbit such as the economic benefit, longā€“term survival and scientific discovery. Three of the economic benefits of exploring the space are engineering jobs, mining asteroids, and entertainment. First of all, space exploration has a big impact on creating jobs. Space exploration does not only involve scientists and astronauts, it also involves people with professional backgrounds such as engineering, research assistant, mechanical, technicians and other professionals. Also, there are many companies competing for space tourism business industries and because of this business all the jobs that are available now did not exist a decade ago and if space exploration, or NASA in general, stops today many of these people will be jobless. Second beneficial reason for exploring space is mining asteroids. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Essay On Space Exploration Many people think that nothing more can be done with space exploration. The assumption that there is nothing more that we can achieve with space exploration is a farce. Space exploration has brought us many technological advances. Examples of this technology, such as GPS are now so commonplace that we rarely stop to think why this technology came about and where it was first used. Another technological example would be satellite communication. Medical advances that have been discovered because of man's need to explore space and the unknown. These predicted advances have surpassed what we had only imagined at the onset of space exploration. Throughout our short history of space travel, we have made many advances in medicine and had several medical breakthroughs due in part to space exploration."There have been many advances in the medical field due at least in part to space exploration. Some of these advances include: digital imaging breast biopsy system, laser angioplasty using fiberā€“optic catheters, voice controlled wheelchairs, light emitting diodes (LED) for help in brain cancer surgery, foam developed for use by NASA is now used to construct less expensive, better molds for artificial prosthetics, programmable pacemakers, tools for cataract surgery, automatic insulin pumps, implantable heart defibrillators", the list of medical advances due to space exploration goes on and on. There is no reason to believe that we have reached the end for medical advances due to space exploration, rather we have only merely scratched the surface. Space exploration stimulates the economy and generates wealth in the form of royalties. The NASA budget is small in comparison to the total GDP (gross domestic product). Royalties that generate wealth for the economy are in the form of patents and licenses that go directly into the National Treasury. • 14. Space Exploration Of Space Space exploration has brought with it numerous advances and changes to the world. Included in these changes are the significant impacts to America's cultural landscape. America's cultural perception has been shaped by fear, patriotism, and a division between the Country. Throughout Margaret Lazarus Dean's memoir Leaving Orbit, she explored many of these changes as they happened throughout the almost sixty years that American's, and the world, have been leaving Earth. Dean delves into the initial launches throughout the 50's and 60's, describing both the unease and loyalty to country that drove space flight forward and allowed for the cultural landscape American's live in today. One of the first cultural changes that came with the space program occurred before America's first capsule even left the Earth. The American people's fright over what the Soviets could do with this new technology of space travel was the driving factor into pushing for space flight. Fear grew exponentially in the late fifties and early sixties as the first Russian satellites were launched and the possibilities of what the Soviet Union could do with those capabilities weighed heavily on American minds. "[T]he degree to which Americans were shaken by Sputnik is all but incomprehensible to people born too late to remember the Cold War... And what was to stop it from raining weapons down upon Americans from that vantage point... It is fair to say the Sputnik completely changed the way Americans in positions Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Human Space Exploration Essay Why Robotic Space Exploration is Better than Human Space Exploration The space is a marvelous place where it is fated for humans to go and explore, just like how humans explored the new world back in the Medieval age. For the past decades, people have sent up men and women, and machines to the space for the sake of space exploration. Even with this great amount of time, the debate over Robots Vs. Humans for space exploration hasn't come to a settle yet. With that said, Robot Vs. Human Space Exploration will be discussed, and it will be emphasized on why Robotic Space Mission is better than Human Space Mission. The very first problem is the issue on budget to send people out to the space and maintain their life. With the current...show more content... To back up that point, the "TAM!" talk show, which was held in Las Vegas 2011, supported the fact that the cost of each man being sent to space would is way more expensive than sending out probes into the space (Neil Tyson). It was described that one manned exploration would be equal to the amount of doing hundreds to thousands of robotic space program (Neil Tyson). Using a comparison, it would have been logical to send a few probes to investigate a planet, rather than sending a few people to the planet, which may not make much difference. Even if the robots used were to have a shorter life expectancy, the overall cost of making another would still far less than sending two people up to the space. The tremendous cost to pay for a human space program also would never give a 100% certainty for the safety of those astronaut in the far distance space. In the case of emergency, help would be too far away to reach them on time. If robots were to die, money and time could be used to solve the problem. If it were humans who were in emergency, not only money and time that has to be dealt with, but also the social fear and hate that would arise and heavily impact the idea of space travel. The case of emergency relates to the next point that humans are rather fragile and unpredictable on alien living condition, compared to robots which could endure harsher condition. • 16. Space Exploration Essay Vaughn 1 Caleb Vaughn Joiner 2nd Pd English 2/20/14 Space Exploration Space Exploration is an interesting part of today's society. There are kids across the world with lifelong dreams of becoming an astronaut. Although many may think space exploration is a great thing and we should keep progressing in it, space exploration is a waste of time because of the medical effects to crew members, the countless money we spend on it, the environmental effects, and the dangers of the unknown universe. The medical effects space exploration has on crew members in space are endless. First the crew members' prolonged exposure to reduced gravity environments can cause bone loss, increased loss of bone materials, increased chances...show more content... Pharmaceutical countermeasures are also being evaluated for their ability to mitigate the harmful effects of space radiation. Scientific discoveries made by the CSRR will not only enable safe and productive human exploration of space, but may also have the potential to improve life on Earth. Although this is true, Radiation exposure can lead to many health problems, including acute effects such as nausea, vomiting, fatigue, skin injury and changes to white blood cell counts and the immune system. LongerŠ’term radiation effects include damage to the eyes, gastrointestinal system, lungs and central nervous system. Exposure also increases cancer risk (Ann R. Kennedy). Another reason space exploration should be concluded is the effects of the countless money we spend on space exploration. The budget for space exploration is 17.7 Billion a year. The total cost in all of the years of space exploration is 780 billion dollars (Amadeo). One may point out that this money in the long run can help discover amazing things. Although this is true, some possible ways this money could've been and can be used are to lower the national debt of 60 trillion dollars, reduce poverty in underdeveloped countries, reduce world hunger, and decrease global warming. World hunger could be ended for 30 billion a year, meaning no one would be hungry for 26 years if we had used that 780 billion dollars on

  • 18. Persuasive Essay About Space Exploration Space Exploration For centuries the human race has survived to venture past our planet end in to the vast and copious field of stars. Through years of research and discovery scientists have been able to instruct rockets and take us beyond our homeland. Physics and science apply to almost every aspect of space exploration. A few examples of this arerocket propulsion, the forces on a rocket, and the human body in space. Some people believe space exploration is a bad idea because it costs a lot of money that could go to other governmentā€“funded programs, there are many unforeseen risks from failures launch or radiation from the Sun, and the discovery of new civilizations could lead to a repeat of history where we take advantage of civilization and ravage them. I believe that space exploration is a good idea because It can help us detect and divert dangerous asteroids, help us discover new habitable planets, and it corresponds with the human nature to explore discover and learn. To explore space you must first find a way to get there. Space programs such as NASA have used and still use various forms of rockets to get to space. These rockets consists of solid propellant rocket, liquid bibropellantpellant chemical rockets, liquid monopropellant rockets, thermonuclear plasma rockets, and photon rockets. Despite being vastly different they all share one characteristic... They have the ability to produce thrust (NASA). Thrust enables the rocket or projectile to ascend upward against the force of gravity. A rocket faces many forces as it goes up to space and leaves our atmosphere. The rocket is met with weight, thrust, lift, and drag. Considering these forces are vectors they have a direction and magnitude (Benson). Rockets are outfitted with a group of astronauts within them and an extensive communication team on the ground. The astronauts bodies are affected by space once they leave the atmosphere of Earth. One of the issues that astronauts face is the excess amount of harmful radiation in space. They have to endure 10 times more radiation in space than on Earth. Radiation can cause cancer in humans and is very dangerous in large doses. Another issue they face is the mental deterioration that face from isolation in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Since then, we have found that an infinite supply of knowledge and resources await us just outside our atmosphere. Today, however, critics are beginning to argue more and more that the cost of space exploration is too high, and therefore new technological developments should be left to the private sector rather than the taxpayers pockets. Some feel that the funding of NASA and space exploration is no longer necessary or important, but whether funded privately or b the government, funding of space exploration is imperative because NASA is essentially the only agency with the technological...show more content... Though space exploration has remained a symbol of the government that most look up to and think highly of, recent budget cuts have raised cause for concern. In the 2013 article "Budget Gains For Physical Sciences Will Be Uncertain At Best", author David Kramer states "The President has proposed a combination of tax increases and cuts to entitlement programs to pay for the increased spending. Leadership of the Republicanā€“controlled House of Representatives has made clear its opposition of tax increases" (para. 3). With the threat of Congress cutting NASA 's budget, the United State 's sixty year preeminence in space exploration is in serious peril. Many suggest that our space programs and some aspects of space exploration be funded by the private sector. While this may benefit programs such as NASA shortā€“term, the complete takeover by the private sector would prove detrimental. NASA is a large organization with an even bigger budget, though it has no way of generating revenue to sustain missions. However, if government funding is completely lost, NASA will have to depend solely on funding from corporations, causing it to be split into multiple small, private entities which would generate profit, causing the NASA as we know it to cease to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 21. Conclusion On Space Exploration ABSTRACT Space travel has become a growing event in the world and has assisted in advancing our knowledge as well as providing information about the solar system. As the human race continues to grow, the need for resources continues to grow as well and finding new places to inhabit as well as being able to find new resources is becoming more important. The issue that needs to be addressed currently is the air quality onboard the space habitats, stations and vehicles. Humans are driven to explore the unknown, discover new worlds, and push the boundaries of scientific and technical limits [1]. Space exploration can feed the human knowledge base as well as open the doors for new resources that can potentially be gathered from other worlds. However, this poses a challenge for the people who man the space vehicles during an expedition. Though the technology has improved significantly towards the removal of most harmful gases, there are still issues with air quality on board these celestial habitats such as trace contaminants from equipment and microorganisms. DISCUSSION Air quality on earth is controlled by the earth's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
