The
Humiliation
The Humiliation
• Judah was humiliated
Genesis 38:24-26
24 And it came to pass, about
three months after, that Judah
was told, saying, “Tamar your
daughter-in-law has played the
harlot; furthermore she is with
child by harlotry.” So Judah
said, “Bring her out and let her
be burned!”
Genesis 38:24-26
25 When she was brought out,
she sent to her father-in-law,
saying, “By the man to whom
these belong, I am with child.”
And she said, “Please
determine whose these are—
the signet and cord, and staff.”
Genesis 38:24-26
26 So Judah acknowledged them
and said, “She has been more
righteous than I, because I did
not give her to Shelah my son.”
And he never knew her again.
The Humiliation
• Judah was humiliated
• David was humiliated
2Samuel 12:7-9
7 Then Nathan said to David,
“You are the man! Thus says
the LORD God of Israel: ‘I
anointed you king over Israel,
and I delivered you from the
hand of Saul.
2Samuel 12:7-9
8 I gave you your master’s
house and your master’s wives
into your keeping, and gave you
the house of Israel and Judah.
And if that had been too little, I
also would have given you
much more!
2Samuel 12:7-9
9 Why have you despised the
commandment of the LORD, to
do evil in His sight? You have
killed Uriah the Hittite with the
sword; you have taken his wife
to be your wife, and have killed
him with the sword of the
people of Ammon.
2Samuel 12:13
So David said to Nathan, “I
have sinned against the LORD.”
And Nathan said to David,
“The LORD also has put away
your sin; you shall not die.
The Humiliation
• Judah was humiliated
• David was humiliated
• Nebuchadnezzar was
humiliated
Daniel 4:28-30
28 All this came upon King
Nebuchadnezzar. 29 At the end
of the twelve months he was
walking about the royal palace
of Babylon.
Daniel 4:28-30
30 The king spoke, saying, “Is
not this great Babylon, that I
have built for a royal dwelling
by my mighty power and for
the honor of my majesty?”
Daniel 4:37
Now I, Nebuchadnezzar,
praise and extol and honor
the King of heaven, all of
whose works are truth, and
His ways justice. And those
who walk in pride He is able
to put down.
