2. The Ford Company Founded in 1903 by Henry Ford Sr. Ford Motor Company, headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan. Manufactures Aston Martin, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercury and Volvo. The only automotive company that didn’t take the bailout money in 2008. The world’s second largest automaker.

3. The First Mustang Debuted on April 17, 1964 at the New York World Fair. Priced at $2,368 22,000 orders placed on the first day. The name was in reference to a Mustang Fighter Pilot from World War II.

7. Crossing the Finish Line Started as a pace car leading the 1964 Indianapolis 500 Finished first and second in the 1964 Tour de France. American competition debut, also in 1964, was in drag racing. Since, have consistently dominated the racetrack, remaining in the winners circle.
