A Guide to Farming Miracles (for UX teams in tough environments)Austin Govella
Designers don't really design anything. Organizations design everything. So, what if your organization sucks? Seriously. What do you do then? And then -- while you're at it -- do it "agile". Do it "lean".
Organizations face seven barriers when trying to design create better products and services: value, focus, time, memory, quality, understanding, and improvement.
We'll look at seven approaches you'll be able to use on Monday to help your company overcome these seven barriers. Instead of changing what you do, you'll learn to change how you do it. It's changing the how that enables better design. You'll be able to build better, more balanced teams, better interfaces, and better experiences.
Presented at the Big Design conference in Dallas, TX on Friday, July 15th, 2011 at 1:00pm.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. THE GAYATRI MANTRA :
THE GAYATRI MANTRA IN ENGLISH:
Om Bhoor Bhuvah Swah Tat Savitur Vareniyam Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi
Dhiyo Yonah Prachodayat .
MEANING OF THE GAYATRI MANTRA:
"May the Almighty God illuminate our Intellect and lead us on to the
Righteous Path”.
4. VEDMATA – Gayatri Shakti is called Vedmata as the Vedas
originated from the Gayatri Mantra.
DEVMATA – She is known as Devmata because she helps in the
manifestation of divine virtues (gun), actions (karma) and nature
(swabhav) in her devotees .
VISHWAMATA – She is known as Vishwamata as she gives
inspiration for the establishment of a universal family
“Vasudhaiva kutumbakam” . That is regarding every human
being in the world as being part of one’s own family.
5. GAYATRI MANTRA IS A “GURU MANTRA”……….
GAYATRI is known as The Guru-mantra which means that, of
all the Mantras, it is the best and most supreme.
Gayatri Mantra was the first lesson taught in schools in
ancient times, as the purpose of education is to attain
WISDOM , or the highest form of RIGHTEOUS INTELLIGENCE
or GAYATRI.
6. THE UNIQUE & SCIENTIFIC DESIGN OF THE GAYATRI MANTRA
The 24 letters of the Gayatri Mantra have been designed in
such a way that the mere chanting of this Mantra activates
subtle energies in the subtle nerves (Naadis) of the
tongue, throat, brain centre and the palate.
7. Gayatri Mantra is the only Mantra which when chanted OPENS
and LINKS ALL the SUBTLE ENERGY CHAKRAS present in our body.
NO OTHER MANTRA does the same.
The Naadis (subtle nerves) of the mouth transport the impulses
of Gayatri Mantra chanting, to the various Chakras of the body
thereby creating an uninterrupted flow of divine cosmic energy.
8. Just as when one hits the keys of the keyboard of a
computer, a corresponding alphabet gets typed on the
computer screen,
….. so also when the MOUTH CHANTS the Gayatri
Mantra, various Naadis (subtle nerves) of the mouth transport
the energy impulses originating in the mouth to the
various Chakras of the body .
The CHAKRAS in turn get activated, resulting in the increased
manifestation of the subtle energies present in our body.
Apart from the Chakras various Bhramars, Kamals (lotus
centres), Granthis (energy knots), Sansthans (other energy
centers) also get awakened during the chanting of Mantras.
9. In this manner the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra subtly
commences and awakens the subtle energy centers of our
body, thereby benefiting the devotee extraordinarily both
materially and spiritually.
As righteous intellect, and discriminating faculties develop it is
only natural that physical, material and spiritual benefits follow.
The Gayatri Mantra Sadhana results in a well organized
scientific process of spiritual growth. Gayatri Sadhana is not
based on blind faith but has a solid scientific basis to the same.
10. EMINENT ANCIENT RISHIS and MUNIS
EXTOLLING THE VIRTUES OF THE
GAYATRI MANTRA………….
Atharva Ved incorporates a prayer (19-1-71) in praise of Gayatri stating
that it grants longevity, energy, power, fame, wealth and divine brilliance
(Brahma-tej).
According to Rishi Vishwamitra, there is no other mantra like Gayatri
mantra in all the four Vedas
According to Maharishi Vyas “just as honey is the essence of a flower,
ghrit the essence of milk, in the same way Gayatri is the essence of all the
Vedas. Just as the Ganga purifies sins committed by the physical body ,
the Gayatri, is the the Brahma Ganga, that purifies the soul.
11. Jagat Guru Shankaracharya says -“it is beyond human competence to
describe the glory of Gayatri. Nothing is more important in the world
than to attain spiritual wisdom, which is inspired by Gayatri Sadhana.
Gayatri is the primordial mantra. Its Sadhana destroys sins and
promotes virtues.”
Swami Vivekananda said, “only that thing should be begged from a
KING which befits his dignity. Therefore Spiritual wisdom alone is the
most suitable gift which should be asked from God.
Gayatri mantra is imbued with spiritual wisdom and, therefore, it has
been acclaimed the greatest of all the mantras.”
12. Shri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa stated:
“ I tell people that it is not necessary to get engaged in
complicated Sadhanas. Perform simple Gayatri Sadhana and
see the results. Great Siddhis are attained by Gayatri Sadhana.
This Mantra is short, no doubt, but it is extremely powerful.”
13. “The Sadhana of Gayatri is the worship of Supreme
Knowledge. It is my personal experience and firm belief that
those who worship Gayatri will never be lacking in spiritual
enlightenment and worldly happiness.’’
