The Global Crop Diversity Trust was established in 2004 to conserve crop diversity and fund the goals of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture. It has raised over $110 million for an endowment fund. The Trust partners with organizations like VIR to regenerate endangered crop collections, with projects regenerating over 10,000 accessions of legumes, cereals, and potatoes. The Trust also works to develop information systems to facilitate access to crop diversity data worldwide.
