Proper preaching involves proclaiming God's message as commanded, calling people to repentance and alignment with God, and providing hope through the gospel. Effective preaching teaches God's word through scripture and magnifies Christ, with the goal of establishing people in the faith and conquering the flesh through repeated proclamation, despite the risks or perception of foolishness. God uses preaching as the primary means of saving believers and manifesting his word throughout history.
The document discusses the biblical basis for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. It provides several passages from the books of John, Mark, Acts, and 1 Corinthians that describe believers receiving the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. The key points made are that Jesus and the apostles taught that receiving the Holy Spirit would be accompanied by speaking in tongues, the biblical accounts of Pentecost and others describe this occurring, and Paul viewed speaking in tongues as a gift from God although he emphasized other gifts like prophecy. The document encourages believers to ask God for and expect to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
1. Ananias and Sapphira lied about how much money they received from selling property and keeping some for themselves, and both fell dead after being confronted by Peter for lying to the Holy Spirit.
2. Many signs, wonders, and healings were occurring through the apostles and the number of believers in the church continued to greatly increase.
3. The sick and afflicted were even being carried into the streets in hopes that Peter's shadow might heal them as he passed by.
The document discusses lying and truth. It summarizes that God commanded Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge, but the serpent lied to Eve, telling her she would not die from eating it. Eve believed the lie and ate the fruit. The document argues that all lies are dangerous and come from the devil, who is the father of lies. It emphasizes that Jesus is the truth and that we must preach the gospel to destroy the works of the devil and not be deceived by lies.
Paul expresses his desire for Israel to be saved. However, Israel did not understand God's righteousness and instead tried to establish their own righteousness. True righteousness comes through faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying Mosaic law. One must believe in their heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord to be saved. Faith comes from hearing the word of God.
The document discusses God's unfolding plan through history as revealed in the Bible. It notes that the Old Testament contained prophecies that anticipated future fulfillment. However, certain mysteries about God's plan were not known even to the prophets, including the incarnation of Christ, the inclusion of Gentiles in God's plan, and the formation of the Church. These mysteries have now been revealed. The document argues that the prophecies and mysteries can be reconciled by interpreting the Old Testament prophecies literally while recognizing God has complementary purposes for Israel and the Church.
This document discusses visible Christianity and having a holy conversation. It emphasizes that believers should sanctify themselves and be holy as God is holy. This involves regulating one's words, actions, and expressions. Christians must be careful to avoid corrupt communication and instead allow good, edifying words to minister grace. Both thoughts and deeds should be above reproach. Maintaining a heavenly mindset and focusing on virtues helps ensure a holy conversation before God and man.

The document discusses how God reveals himself through creation, Christ, and believers. It notes that God's invisible attributes are seen through creation, but people did not acknowledge him. It then discusses how God fully revealed himself through Christ, who is the image of God and one with the Father. Finally, it encourages believers to imitate God so that others may see their good works and glorify the Father. The overall message is that to truly know God, one must understand his self-revelation through nature, Jesus, and his people.
As we have been learning these past few weeks about Receiving God’s Guidance we have been emphasizing the instruction that we need to test all things and hold fast what is good as we see in 1 Thess 5:21.

1. The document discusses the spiritual gifts of speaking in tongues and prophesying. It emphasizes that while speaking in tongues privately builds up the individual, prophesying publicly builds up the church.
2. It encourages pursuing both gifts, with a greater focus on prophesying so that the church is edified. The body of Christ is built up through individual believers being strengthened and coming together in worship and encouragement.
3. Building each other up in love from the inside out through spiritual gifts is described as the most excellent way for the church to grow.
This document discusses the importance of having a holy conversation through our words, actions, and thoughts as Christians. It emphasizes that we should sanctify ourselves and be holy like God is holy. Our entire manner of life should reflect holiness. This includes speaking in a way that edifies others and avoids corrupt communication, acting with wisdom and good works, and thinking on things that are true, honest and praiseworthy. How we talk, behave and think will be judged by God, so we must guard our hearts, minds and mouths to reflect Christ in all we say and do.
The Holy Spirit empowers us to be witnesses for Jesus. Therefore His power is most available when you witness for Jesus. The gifts of the Spirit are channels through which His power is made manifest. Every believer can learn to manifest the gifts of the Spirit.
Peter, James, and John witnessed Jesus transfigured before them, speaking with Moses and Elijah. They were afraid but then a voice from a cloud said "This is my beloved Son, listen to him." This event gave Peter authority as an eyewitness when he later taught and wrote about Jesus.
Revelation 14 july 15 2012 sermon slidesJohn Smith
The document provides an overview and analysis of key passages in Revelation 14. It discusses:
1) The 144,000 standing with the Lamb and singing a new song (vv. 1-5).
2) Three angelic announcements - the first proclaiming the eternal gospel, the second announcing Babylon's fall, and the third warning about worshipping the beast (vv. 6-11).
3) A call for endurance from those who keep God's commandments (vv. 12-13).
4) Two final harvests - the harvest of grain and harvest of grapes, both involving divine judgment and wrath (vv. 14-20).
This document discusses several passages from the book of Revelation chapters 8-9 and provides commentary and analysis. It addresses three main points:
1. Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles for 42 months, equal to 3.5 years, during the Great Tribulation. There will also be two witnesses who will preach for 1290 days.
2. The two witnesses are speculated to represent Moses and Elijah based on biblical clues, though some scholars suggest Enoch and Elijah.
3. When the seventh trumpet sounds, it signals that God's kingdom has come and He will reign forever, bringing great joy in heaven but sorrow to those who abused God's people. Suffering can bring one closer to God
This document provides a summary of Bible study material covering Acts chapters 2, 4, and 5. It discusses key events including the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, Peter addressing the crowd in Jerusalem, the apostles teaching and healing in Jesus' name, and being brought before the Sanhedrin. The apostles are commanded not to speak in Jesus' name but reply that they must obey God rather than men.
The document provides instructions for inductive Bible study, beginning with prayer for guidance by the Holy Spirit. It instructs the reader to focus on the details in Romans chapter 1, marking target words like Jesus, Christ, Lord, God, Paul, faith, Father, grace, gospel and believe. The homework is to read Romans 1, mark the target words, and practice the memory verse.
Vishaal behl believes that there are many people who are completely broken in life and depressed, looking for the ray of hope. This young evangelist and his team prays for these people. Their prayers' are to reach the lost at any cost and bring them to Jesus.
“It has been such an awesome journey to see people give their lives to Jesus. Jesus is the Answer.“ - Brother Vishaal Behl
The document provides a summary and interpretation of Revelation chapter 6, which describes the opening of the seven seals of a book by Jesus. Each seal reveals a horse and rider representing a major period in the history of the church. The first four seals depict the early, pure church followed by periods of persecution, corruption through worldliness, and the establishment of the papacy leading to the slaughter of believers. The fifth seal shows martyrs crying out under God's altar. The sixth seal portrays signs in nature and the wicked recognizing Jesus' imminent return. The seventh seal signals silence in heaven as beings depart to gather the redeemed from Earth.
The document discusses how if Adventists had remained united after 1844 and proclaimed the third angel's message in the power of the Holy Spirit, the world would have been warned sooner and Christ would have returned. It compares this to how Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years due to lack of faith. Now, through God's mercy, Christ delays His coming so more can hear the message and find shelter in Him before the wrath of God. Ministers are called to work in unentered fields to finish the gospel work so Christ can return.
The document discusses religious leaders called "lemmings" who want to silence those spreading the word of Jesus despite undeniable signs and miracles. It references Acts 4:16-17 where religious leaders want to warn people from speaking about Jesus to prevent the news from spreading further. However, the document also references Acts 4:19-20 where Peter and John refuse to stop preaching about Jesus, saying they must obey God rather than men.
This document discusses the Holy Spirit from several Bible passages. It describes how Ananias and Sapphira lied to the Holy Spirit and were punished with death. It defines terms used to describe the Holy Spirit like "ruach" meaning wind or breath, and "pneuma" meaning spirit. It discusses how the Holy Spirit acts as a Counselor and Comforter, guiding believers into truth and convicting the world. Some reasons given for why people may live spirit-less lives are lack of awareness of the Holy Spirit or resisting the Holy Spirit.
The document discusses several Bible passages related to the work of the Holy Spirit. It describes how the Holy Spirit came upon believers in Acts, empowering them to speak in other tongues. It also discusses how grieving the Holy Spirit can occur through corrupt speech or hardness of heart rather than through ministering to sinners. The document emphasizes allowing the word of Christ to dwell richly and ministering to one another with grace.
What motivated Ananias and Sapphira to lie? Have you ever been tempted to lie? Have you ever been tempted to lie for the same reason? What stopped you? Do you think Ananias and Sapphira were truly Christians? Why? What difference does it make how we answer this question?
May 15 2016-Sunday Service Message- PENTECOST SUNDAY IS THE OUTPOURING OF THE...Catherine Lirio
The document discusses how to be filled with the Holy Spirit based on biblical passages. It describes how on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit filled the disciples in the form of violent wind and tongues of fire. There are three types of speaking in tongues: with direct translation, with interpretation, and for intercession. Grieving the Holy Spirit can occur through sin, turning away from his instructions, and rebellion. Being filled with the Spirit leads to power, growth, and victory for both individuals and churches.
Paul was a Jewish apostle who was hand-chosen by Jesus Christ after seeing him on the road to Damascus. He received direct revelation from Jesus about the gospel of grace for the church age. As an apostle, Paul had authority and a pattern for church-age Christians, preaching the gospel that Christ died for sins and rose again. Though there are no modern apostles, missionaries sent by churches are closest to apostles in their role of preaching the gospel in new areas.

This document discusses the importance and role of prophecy according to the Bible. It provides several reasons why studying prophecy is important:
1) Prophecy acts as a light that exposes darkness and false teachings, allowing believers to distinguish truth from lies.
2) Prophecy gives believers understanding of the times and what they ought to do, helping them navigate an increasingly deceptive world.
3) There is safety in obeying prophecy, as it warns believers of coming dangers and judgments, preparing them for what is to come.

The document discusses healing in the Bible. It provides several Bible passages that describe Jesus healing people during his time on Earth. However, some passages indicate that healing was promised only to Israel if they followed God's law, not to Gentiles. The document argues that healing in the Bible refers to spiritual healing from sins, not physical healing, and that signs and wonders like healing were meant as signs to Jews rather than as a requirement for all.
The document discusses the meaning of the word "anon" as it is used in the Bible. It provides several Bible verses from Matthew and Mark that use the word "anon" and defines it to mean "immediately" based on a parallel verse in Mark. It also discusses Jesus ordaining the twelve disciples and lists the names of the disciples from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Finally, it compares Jesus giving the Beatitudes from Matthew 5:1-12 with the parallel account in Luke 6:17-22.
The document discusses the three angels' messages of Revelation 14:6-12. It provides context on the book of Revelation and explains that an angel delivers God's messages to humanity. The three angels' messages concern worshipping God as creator, leaving Babylon, and warnings about worshipping the beast. The document urges believers to proclaim these universal messages as part of God's final appeal to humanity.
The document discusses the three angels' messages of Revelation 14:6-12. It provides context on the book of Revelation and explains that an angel delivers God's messages to humans. The three angels' messages warn of impending judgment for worshipping the beast and call people to worship God as creator. The messages are a final appeal from God for people to come out of Babylon before facing his wrath.
The document discusses the history and theological basis of speaking in tongues within Pentecostal Christianity. It provides biblical evidence from both the Old and New Testaments to support the practice. Key figures that promoted speaking in tongues like Charles Parham and William Seymour are mentioned. The document also discusses the origins of the Assemblies of God and the Church of God in Christ denominations from the early Pentecostal movement.
This document discusses the biblical concept of being "born again" through three key aspects:
1) Believing in Jesus Christ and repenting of sins is necessary for salvation.
2) Baptism by immersion in water is described as the "birth of water" and is part of being born again.
3) Receiving the Holy Spirit is the "birth of the Spirit" and is evidenced by speaking in other tongues, as occurred at Pentecost. The document uses passages from John, Acts and other books to support these points.
This document discusses the biblical concept of being "born again" through the lens of Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus in John 3. The key points made are:
- Being born again is necessary to enter God's kingdom but is not fully understood by most Christians.
- It involves being born of water (baptism) and of the Spirit, receiving the Holy Spirit after believing, repenting, and being baptized.
- Speaking in tongues is the biblical evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus emphasized to Nicodemus that one must be born again by the Spirit to see and enter God's kingdom.
Other tongues mentioned in the book of Acts referred to known foreign languages spoken by believers that were unknown to the speakers but known to and understood by the listeners. Unknown tongues mentioned in 1 Corinthians refer to a spiritual language known to the speaker but unknown to listeners, and the document outlines rules for their proper use according to scripture, including interpretation and limiting the number of speakers. The purpose of both was to serve as a sign to unbelievers rather than for personal edification alone.
The document discusses whether miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as tongues, prophecy, and healing, continue today. It considers four things: 1) Gifts were given through baptism in the Holy Spirit or the laying on of apostles' hands. 2) Gifts served to confirm the message and establish the early church before the Bible was complete. 3) 1 Corinthians 13 indicates gifts were temporary and would cease once revelation was complete. 4) What is observed today is different than the explicit miraculous gifts seen in the early church, suggesting they served their purpose and are no longer active gifts today. The document concludes the gifts ended once the gospel revelation was fully given through Scripture.

This document discusses the roles of different leaders in the church according to Ephesians 4:11-13 and other biblical passages. It identifies apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastors/teachers as leaders given by God to equip saints for ministry. Apostles were ambassadors who witnessed Christ directly, prophets received and delivered direct revelations from God, evangelists preached the gospel, and pastors/teachers served as shepherds. The goal of these leaders equipping saints is to build up the body of Christ and bring unity in faith and knowledge of God, resulting in spiritual growth and maturity of believers.

This document announces an 8-week seminar to teach people how to prophesy or improve their prophetic gifts. It will cover discovering one's prophetic gift, understanding that one has already been using it, learning new things about prophecy, and why prophecy is easy. Participants will receive impartation, training, and practice through prophetic activation drills. The goal is to help people become more like God and Christ-like as prophecy originates from God's heart. The free seminar will be held every Thursday at the Catch the Fire Airport Campus in Toronto starting in February.
This document provides summaries of several Bible passages about the five-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. It discusses their purpose of perfecting saints, doing the work of ministry, and building up the body of Christ. It also defines the roles of each position, with apostles being missionaries who set things in order, and prophets being people who receive the word of God and foresee future events. The overall message is about the importance of these ministries in preaching the gospel and bringing people to unity in faith.
The document discusses the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the transformation it brought to the disciples. It describes two types of baptism: water baptism and baptism by the Holy Spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit empowers believers and enables them to speak in other tongues, as evidenced on the day of Pentecost and several other biblical events. The document encourages readers to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit by asking, accepting through faith, and acting through speaking in tongues.
The document contains excerpts from Ellen G. White discussing prophetic gifts and health issues. It warns that tobacco is poisonous and can cause diseases like tuberculosis and cancer. It also recounts visions she had of buildings being consumed by fire despite being deemed fireproof, foretelling the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fires. The excerpts aim to demonstrate Ellen G. White's prophetic ministry and gift of prophecy.
The document summarizes key events and themes in the book of Acts. It describes how Acts shows the early Christian church transitioning from fearful disciples to bold apostles who spread the gospel from Jerusalem to Europe despite facing extreme opposition. The summary highlights how the apostles' teaching spread widely due to their extreme power, unity, discipline, boldness, focus, and willingness to take risks, even in the face of opposition.
The conclusion of mark 04 27-2014 - mark 16-9-20John Smith
The document discusses textual variations in some late manuscripts of Mark 16:9-20 and whether these verses were part of the original text of Mark. Scholars note that some ancient manuscripts do not contain these verses, while others do. The meaning of the verses is considered reliable even if they were not originally part of Mark's gospel. The overall message of the verses is consistent with what is taught elsewhere in the New Testament. The document encourages readers to share the good news of Jesus with others, trusting that God will work through them despite their weaknesses.

Jesus took all of our sins, guilt and shame on the cross, and gave us His life as a loving gift. Jesus took the punishment for our sins which He didn’t deserve, so we could enjoy a life we could never earn. Romans 1:16-17 tells us this simple gospel releases the power of God which leads to salvation. This means much more than getting to heaven. It means we can enjoy the love, peace, favor and blessings of God while we are on earth.
We have small groups, which we call House Fellowships, all around the country. The House Fellowships typically meet on Wednesdays to review and study the notes of the weekly service. This is a way for people to build relationships as well as grow in the wisdom and revelation of Jesus.

http://freedomministries.tv/media-library/2014-messages/6-22-14/howtopray-3/
The document discusses how to pray powerful prayers in the name of Jesus. It teaches that God is eager to give us what we ask for through prayer. When we pray, we should focus on God rather than on ourselves. The Bible promises that God will answer our prayers and give us good gifts if we ask in Jesus' name. Elijah is given as an example of someone who prayed earnestly and saw God answer his prayers by sending and ending a drought. We are encouraged not to worry when we pray but to remember that God freely and generously gives us all things if we ask.
This document discusses how to pray powerful prayers in the name of Jesus. It begins by debunking common myths about prayer, explaining that as children of God we can directly ask the Father for our needs. It emphasizes that we do not need a certain amount of faith, but can ask anything in Jesus' name and it will be given. Several bible verses are cited that promise God will answer our prayers and give us all things. The document encourages believers to use the authority and power of Jesus' name when praying, as his name is above all other names and at its mention every knee must bow.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1
The pervasiveness of Lying in today's World.pptxniwres
In our interconnected world, lies weave through the fabric of society like hidden threads. We encounter them in politics, media, personal relationships, and even within ourselves. The prevalence of deception raises profound questions about truth, trust, and the human condition.
Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.
Tales of This and Another Life - Chapters.pdfMashaL38
This book is one of the best of the translated ones, for it has a warning character for all those who find themselves in the experience of material life. Irmão X provides a shrewd way of describing the subtleties and weaknesses that can jeopardize our intentions, making us more attentive and vigilant by providing us with his wise pages, reminding us between the lines of the Master's words: "Pray and watch."
2. Are The Gifts of The Holy Spirit Important Today?
Or Did They Go Away With the Apostles?
3. Mark 2:1 And again He entered Capernaum
after some days, and it was heard that He was in
the house. 2 Immediately many gathered together,
so that there was no longer room to receive
them, not even near the door. And He preached
the word to them. 3 Then they came to Him,
bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.
4. Mark 2:4 And when they could not come near
Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the
roof where He was. So when they had broken
through, they let down the bed on which the
paralytic was lying.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the
paralytic,“Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
5. Mark 2:6 And some of the scribes were sitting
there and reasoning in their hearts, 7 “Why does
this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can
forgive sins but God alone?”
8 But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His
spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves,
He said to them,“Why do you reason about these
things in your hearts?
6. 9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic,‘Your sins
are forgiven you,’ or to say,‘Arise, take up your
bed and walk’? 10 But that you may know that
the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive
sins”—He said to the paralytic,
7. 11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go
to your house.” 12 Immediately he arose, took up
the bed, and went out in the presence of them all,
so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying,
“We never saw anything like this!”
Jesus said if you don’t believe Me, believe the
miracles that I do.
Jesus used miracles to validate His ministry.
8. Mark 16:15 And He said to them,“Go into all
the world and preach the gospel to every
creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will
be saved; but he who does not believe will be
condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those
who believe: In My name they will cast out
demons; they will speak with new tongues;
9. 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink
anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them;
they will lay hands on the sick, and they will
recover.”
19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them,
He was received up into heaven, and sat down at
the right hand of God.
10. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere,
the Lord working with them and confirming the
word through the accompanying signs.
When the True Gospel of Jesus Christ is
preached, It is confirmed with signs and wonders.
11. What did Peter and John pray after being released
from prison?
Acts 4:29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and
grant toYour servants that with all boldness they
may speakYour word, 30 by stretching outYour
hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be
done through the name ofYour holy Servant
Jesus.”
31 And when they had prayed, the place where
they were assembled together was shaken; and
they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they
spoke the word of God with boldness.
12. Acts 5:12 And through the hands of the
apostles many signs and wonders were done
among the people...14 And believers were
increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both
men and women, 15 so that they brought the sick
out into the streets and laid them on beds and
couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing
by might fall on some of them.
13. Hebrews 2:3 how shall we escape if we neglect
so great a salvation, which at the first began to be
spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by
those who heard Him, 4 God also bearing witness
both with signs and wonders, with various
miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to
His own will?
14. Did the gifts of the Holy Spirit pass
away with the Apostles?
The main argument is usually in 1
Corinthians 12,13
15. 1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails. But
whether there are prophecies, they will fail;
whether there are tongues, they will cease;
whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect has come, then
that which is in part will be done away.
16. Jesus used signs and wonders to validate His
ministry.
The Apostles ministry was confirmed by signs and
wonders.
Jesus said go preach the gospel, and signs and
wonders shall follow you.
If we want our ministry to be effective, we need
to flow in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
17. I Corinthians 11:24
“Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for
you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the
same manner He also took the cup after supper,
saying,“This cup is the new covenant in My blood.
This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance
of Me.”
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink
this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He
comes.
