For 1500, Genovese bankers, the brothers Plumbino came from Italy to live
in the centre of the town.
The successful management of the Genovese surprised the own Alonso
Fernandez of Lugo (Conqueror of the island). It was a dry field that became
a productive land. The mansion house began to have a socioeconomic and
strategic importance.
There is such the importance that acquired the agricultural exploitation in
the 16th century in this place, which generated a lawsuit between the Italian
brothers and the licentiate Mr Francisco de Vargas and Vargas Mexía, the
nephew of the conqueror of the island of Tenerife. As far back as the 17th

co, banana plantations, all kinds of tubers, vegetables, wood, the West Indi-
an avocados, brought of many parts of the south of America and The Antil-
les, to acclimate them in the own estate and export them later to the rest of
Europa.
The Big house has had many owners since the 19th century.
ITS GHOST
La Raya hotel was in the neighborhood of La Hoya, Güímar. It is worth vis-
iting as a refuge to find peace, but it is also an interesting place for Ghost
hunters.
The house was known for years as the "The House of Fear". The guests of
the hotel, who has visited the big house, has heard strange noises. They
hve also seen furniture, windows and doors, moving for no apparent rea-
son.
Some workers spoke of those same sounds and movements, a ghost,
shadows and strange sensations, while the house was being restored.
3. The owners, Francisco Toledo and Carmelina, suffered a setback over,
small accidents that seemed to want away from the place. And as hotel
customers described the same situations. Most of them didn’t know the his-
tory of the house and they didn’t meet each other. Some guests were ca-
naries, other Spaniards and others from Germany, Switzerland ... – they
saw a woman in white nightdress, sitting on the corner of ta room at the end
of a window corridor . An English woman was said to fell in love with the
one of the previous owners, but luckily he didn’t love her. So she committed
a suicide, falling through the window balcony. Her head touched the stack
of a pond and died. The current owner told us he heard steps upstairs
while he was working.
María Toledo and her mother, the current owners, visited the house while
the workers were repairing it. They were sitting at the end of the stairs with
their dog. They were scared when they heard a lot of stones and debris
falling down over them. The dog barked with nervous, but there weren’t an-
ything.
4. The cooker was cooking in the kitchen when she heard the door of the
kitchen slamming, she thought it was the wind through the open window of
the bathroom, after having checked it was closed, she went back to the
kitchen and saw the salt and the sugar spilling onto the floor.
The paranormal teams CLAVE 7 and CUARTO MILENIUM investigated the
hotel with infrared cameras, movement sensors, digital temperature laser
detectors, ions and magnetic fields, cameras and recorders. A team that
managed to capture complex "invisible" spheres of light and invisible traces
left to see in infrared, with movements that appeared to intelligence, electro-
magnetic field was highly changed. They recorded a luminous sphere mov-
ing from one place to another. It was as if the ghost was laughing at them.
The neighbors are afraid of visiting the house, because they listened to the
ancient music of a piano when they were passing by the big house.
