This document outlines Steve Coast's vision for OpenStreetMap, a free and open source map of the world. Here are my personal highlights from WPP Stream unconference, which took place October 24-27th 2013, Antalya.
Stream is the annual WPP unconference, hosted by Sir Martin Sorrell & Yossi Vardi. 350 guests met up at a scenic, but basic, hotel for three days of discussions and debate.
There were over one hundred Discussion sessions, Ignite talks (15 slides in 15 seconds), a Dragon’s Den for social good, a gadget show, a tech lab, digital art, cooking, sport, film screenings and lots of conversation.

The WPP Stream (Un)Conference was a mash-up of discussions on the industry's biggest challenges, demos of new potentially-disruptive technology, a pitch to solve a major world crises - and so much more!
With no agenda, no PowerPoints and no pre-determined content planned, Y&R worked with an on-site illustrator to capture the loose structure of the conversations, the honesty of the questions, and the openness of the participants.

OpenStreetMap as a Successful Model for User-Generated Geospatial Content
OpenStreetMap is a growing, and successful project that utilizes a loose collaboration of global participants to build a geospatial database.
This presentation discusses the merits of the project that have enabled it to begin, grow, and achieve various levels of success. These traits can then be evaluated and applied to other crowd-source, or democratic and open projects.

Abstract: The arrival of web-based mapping from Google and others has revolutionised, in the space of only five years, the way many people interact with maps and map data. And the success of projects such as Wikipedia highlight how collation of small amounts of information from large numbers of people - an approach called 'crowdsourcing' - can challenge traditional models of data collection and ownership. Bringing these concepts together is OpenStreetMap, a collaborative project to create a free editable map of the world. Well-established enterprises such as the Ordnance Survey are coming under increased pressure from this new model, and large companies such as MapQuest and Microsoft are starting to use and invest in it. Martin Lucas-Smith, Webmaster in the Department, and one of two main developers of the leading UK-wide cycle journey planner website, CycleStreets, will discuss OpenStreetMap, its use within a wide range of systems (from cartography, routing, and even its central role helping deal with the Haiti disaster) and discuss the challenges it poses to traditional forms of cartography and data collection.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
