The Fossily thingy By Gonzalez Angel Period: 7
What is fossil fuel? Natural resources, such as coal, oil and natural gas, containing hydrocarbons. These fuels are formed in the Earth. Over millions of years and produce carbon dioxide when burnt. This will affect the earth a lot as the time passes.
Different types of fossil fuels are: There are three types of fossil fuels: coal, oil and natural gas. All thee of these fossil fuels were formed many, many years ago( or I think). Carboniferous Period is the name of when it was formed.
How is coal formed? Coal made up of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and other stuff. Coal is formed from the remains of vegetation that grew a long time. It is often referred to as buried sunshine, because the plants which formed coal captured energy from the sun through photosynthesis to create the compounds that make up plant tissues etc. in other words coal is formed by carbon. This is the process of coal. Your never see it form because it takes forever to form.
Different stages of coal anthracite The hardest one with a lot of carbon which gives more higher energy content. Lignite- softest and low in carbon. Also, it is high in hydrogen and oxygen.
Coal today! Well um coal is used to use a lot of electricity. That is why it helps If you turn your lights of to conserve energy as in coal.
How oil is formed? Oil was formed from the remains of animals and plantst hat lived a long long time ago in water environment before the dinosaurs. Over millions of years, the remains of these animals and plants were covered by layers of sand and things happened to it. Heat and pressure from these layers helped the remains turn into what we today call crude oil.
Using oil as fossil fuels.. Well as humans we use oil for our car which when the motor starts the external part of all this goes up to the sky. This increases global warming also.
Natural gas formation Natural gas forms from the remains of plants that are really really old. As such organic matter is buried by the increasing amounts of mud and sediment over time, the resulting pressure forces it further underground, subjecting it to the high temperatures that exist deep within the earth.
Using natural gasses as the fossil fuel Natural gasses are used everyday like the things that your houses are made of “bricks”. Clothing some how is involved but yes clothing is part of natural gasses.
Refineries Building, or a mass of machinery, used to produce refined products such as sugar, oil, or metals. It is important because it helps to make things like oil more useful to us. So im guessing this is a good thing.( I don’t really know)
Exxon Valdez oil spill On March 24, 1989, the ship that was going to the Long Beach, California, hit Prince William, Alaska. All of this cased the oil spill. All of this, also, caused the death of hundreds of birds, animals, and fishes that lived there.
Run down On may 3 their was a leak and it is now affecting the water that we drink. This will affect us mostly because we are the parasite of the water and hopefully everything turns out okay.
