The grandson visits his grandfather in the forest, which he finds boring. The grandfather tells him an old legend about the forest to cheer him up. The legend describes a human child who often visited a cherry tree in the center of the forest, watched by a white wolf. One day, people came to destroy the forest. The child and wolf worked together to fight them off, but the wolf was shot and the child used special powers to save the forest, sacrificing their life in the process. The forest has been protected ever since.

1. The forest
“Knock knock”
-Hi grandpa.
-Hi there you little rascal! Come in, come in.
“Sigh” -Yeah sure, thanks.
-Hey what's with the attitude? We're going to have fun this weekend!
“Murmur” - Yeah right… I don't even get why I have to be here, I meanyou live in a forest in the
middle of nowhere, there is nothing to do here.
-Well there you're mistaking! There's always something to do here.
-Like what?! It's so boring here!
-You're really cranky today. I know, how about a story? It always cheered your father up.
-A story, seriously? I think I'm a little too old for that.
-You can never get too old for a story, besides this one is about this forest.
“Sighs” - Fine...
-There is a old legend about this forest. A legend about a child and a white wolf who
sacrificed themselves to protect this forest and its inhabitants.
According to the legend, a human child was often seen wandering aimlessly in the forest, but the
child always ended up at the cherry tree which was located at the center. The humanchild
would always look up at it and smile. All the animals knew the child was there so they kept their
distance, all except one. A white wolf. The wolf watched the humanchild with curiosity behind
some trees.
Every day was the same. The child would come and the wolf would watch. Until one fateful day
when the child didn’t come but instead a group of humans with guns, torches and axes.

2. They started to destroy the forest. Chopping down trees, killing animals and burning everything
in their path. All the animals fled in horror, but not the white wolf who could smell a familiar
scent, it was the child. The wolf saw the child running after the humans who were already at the
center of the forest. The wolf watched as the child ran past them and stood in front of the cherry
tree protecting it, pledging for them to stop, but the humans pushed the child away. The white
wolf leaped forward to the child, wanting to protect it for so bravely trying to protect
the forest from its own kind. The humans were terrified as the wolf stood in front of the child
protectively and tried to fend it away, but the wolf stood his ground and in return looked as
threatening as possible to scare the humans away. One of the humans panicked, grabbed his gun
and shot the white wolf. The child who had been watching the whole time screamed in despair
as the wolf fell and crawled towards it. The child, desperate for help, started to pray to the gods,
praying for them to bestow the power to protect the forest and it's inhabitants. The prayer didn't
go unnoticed by the gods who bestowed their power to the child. Feeling the gods’ powers the
child chased the humans away and restored the forest, but as the child looked at the white wolf
who had so bravely protected a human child, it filled the child’s heart with sorrow. The child
never wanted anything to happen to this forest again so therefore offered its life force with the
gods’ powers to the forest so that it could protect itself. Having no life force left the child fell to
the ground beside the white wolf. Feeling at peace, the child managed to take a final glance at
the cherry tree and smiled knowing that the forest and its inhabitants were safe now.
-Ever since then nothing has been able to harm this forest.
-So you mean that this happened in this forest?
-That's right!

3. -Hey grandpa, that cherry tree in the story is it the same as the one you go to every morning to
pray?
