This qualifies the company or individuals to be able to produce or sell prohibited cannabis for medical services. Being part of the United Nations, German had to implement the Berlin treaty, which required licensure of all companies that deal with cannabis importation to German, especially Canadian companies which consists the major European medical cannabis market (Warf, 2014).
In addition, cannabis trading is considered a pharmaceutical market product in Europe. By this fact, therefore, all products must fully meet the GMP or ISO certification and European Union certification in both countries, which means that certificates have to be acquired from the country of origin. Countries that are outside the European Union and are already doing the product, they have to get GMP compliant certification which is needed for importation. Even when the company dealing with the product has acquired this certification, they yet again have to get a license from the country which is being traded. This requirement is a huge setback to companies from the United States due to federal policy restrictions (Duvall, 2016).
Moreover, dealers in the hump import to Germany face the challenge of the multi-billion dollar cap. This is another form of regulation in German in which the product has to be sold to the pharmaceutical wholesalers, instead of being sold directly to the dispensaries, as it is in other countries. This aspect is made to increase the competition index among the distributors the only a few of them that will comply with the requirements will be better placed in carrying out the business. Another implication of the regulation is that huge capital input is required so that the required quantity for meeting the wholesaler demand is necessary. Therefore, this regulation automatically puts a baseline for the small scale cannabis dealers and gives large companies an early advantage (Warf, 2014).
Again, in Germany, there are high import taxes for certain products. The level of the tax that is set for the hump imports is enshrined by the 2016 cap that provided the tariffs at 4.2% for imports that are from the European Union block. However, this rate is quite high for non-EU imports which put it at 19%. The high tariffs are a challenge to the importation of hub (Duvall, 2016).

I have chosen the Patriot Academy to discuss today. Patriot Academy was founded by an attorney by the name of Rick Green. The first Patriot Academy was held in Texas in 2003 and has since grown exponentially. The purpose of this organization is to equip the new and upcoming generation of leaders to champion the cause of freedom and truth in government, media, entertainment and education (Patriot Academy, 2020). It is helping our future leaders be equipped to bring our nation back to the principles it was founded on through specific strategies such as training, demonstrating, teaching and inspiring. This has a huge impact on our culture, in a positive way. In a previous assignment I stated how important it is for the coming generations to preserve what our constitution stands for. And this organization is doing just that. President Ronald Reagan famously said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” (Patriot Academy, 2020). The website says, “Unless we motivate and equip the rising generation to take up the torch of freedom and carry it forward, it will become extinguished forever.” (Patriot Academy, 2020). I’m not sure there is anything for scary than that happening. The more I am reading in this class and learning, I think it is important (now more than ever) for everyone, especially those in politics and government, to be well versed in the political process and culture, so we can protect our freedom. We are in desperate need of a generation who will stand up for that freedom and to lead America. I’m grateful for the leadership of Rick Green and him seeing this foundation as necessary. He saw that we had weaknesses, but that we have a standard to uphold and what a privilege that really is. Reading through the testimonials, one stuck out from David Barton. He stated that principled leaders are not born, they are trained. And that’s exactly what the Patriot Academy does. Trains future leaders to stand up for what is right and protect what is ours. The day we have self-sacrificing leaders in politics instead of self-righteous ones, will be a good day. I had no idea foundations like this existed, but I am thankful they do.

They exposed a long-term pattern of abuse of the system. From underage abuse to sex trafficking victims having the evidence of the abuse covered up. They have shared video evidence of the illegal sharing of human fetal tissue. As well as helped get justice for trafficked victims. They have brought to the forefront of our media pages the truth on the risks of abortion as a procedure as well as the inhumanity of taking human life. Organizations such as planned parenthood often make claims to deny the life of the fetus or say its just a clump of cells, but live action has shown to a wide audience the reality of that innocent life.

In the first half of the 20th century, due to an awakening of interest in health, advances were made in this field and the ministries of public health emerged. In relation to the latter there is a historical fact of great importance when the first in the world was created in Cuba, as the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and later they emerged in Germany, England, France and others (Bush, 2018).
At this time authors such as Sigerist, Rosen, Lee and Jones stand out and one of the first definitions of public health emerges, at least one of the best known, made by the North American Winslow in 1920, which due to its importance is reproduced below:
"Public Health is the art of preventing diseases, prolonging life, promoting health and efficiency through the organized effort of the community for: environmental sanitation; Control of Communicable Diseases; education in personal Hygiene; organization of medical services and nursing for the early diagnosis and preventive treatment of diseases and the development of the social mechanism that ensures each one an adequate standard of living for the preservation of health; organizing these benefits so that each citizen is in conditions of their right natural to health and longevity” (Coovadia et al., 2009).

With more than 46,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States (and more
than 392,000 cases worldwide), it's clear that the novel coronavirus (aka COVID-19), along with
the anxiety surrounding it, isn't going anywhere soon.
Because the virus is so new (it's technically called SARS-CoV-2, FYI), lots of the fear
surrounding COVID-19 stems from how little we know about it. Luckily, experts do know some
pretty important things about the virus' transmission, or how the coronavirus does—and
doesn't—spread.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, COVID-19 is mainly
spread from person-to-person, usually via close contact (within six feet). It can spread through
physical contact like handshaking if someone's hands are contaminated with the virus. And it can
also spread through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes
(again, that's why the six-feet rule is handy: those droplets can travel that far, and land on another
person's mouth or nose, and can even be inhaled).
The virus may also spread from person-to-person through surfaces that have been
touched by those infected. "A sneezing or coughing person will cover their mouth, get it all over
their hand, and then touch something that you then touch," Robert Murphy, MD, an infectious
disease expert at Northwestern University, tells health.com. “The virus can then gain entry into
your body when you touch your own face,” he adds. That’s precisely why experts can only
preach basic disease-prevention measures, like washing hands correctly (20 seconds with soap
and water) and regularly, wiping down common surfaces, and staying away from sick people.
Lastly, another possible way coronavirus can spread between people is via fecal
transmission. According to recent research from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and
Prevention (CCDC), those with confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (aka, COVID-19) have
live virus in stool specimens, meaning there's a possible fecal-oral route for the virus, as well.

It was a time of quiet and of waiting. The air was cold and tender. A light wind blew up from the southwest so that the farmers were mildly hopeful of a good rain before long; but fog and rain do not go together.
Across the river, on Henry Allen's foothill ranch there was little work to be done, for the hay was cut and stored and the orchards were plowed up to receive the rain deeply when it should come. The cattle on the higher slopes were becoming shaggy and rough-coated.
Elisa Allen, working in her flower garden, looked down across the yard and saw Henry, her husband, talking to two men in business suits. The three of them stood by the tractor shed, each man with one foot on the side of the little Fordson. They smoked cigarettes and studied the machine as they talked.

She brushed a cloud of hair out of her eyes with the back of her glove, and left a smudge of earth on her cheek in doing it. A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. Together with the above and the appearance of social medicine, in the second half of this century, the development of public health is encouraged, expanding health measures by the States and beginning the development of health services, as happened in Russia in 1865 and in Germany in 1883 (Coovadia et al., 2009). In the first half of the 20th century, due to an awakening of interest in health, advances were made in this field and the ministries of public health emerged. In relation to the latter there is a historical fact of great importance when the first in the world was created in Cuba, as the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and later they emerged in Germany, England, France and others (Bush, 2018).
At this time authors such as Sigerist, Rosen, Lee and Jones stand out and one of the first definitions of public health emerges, at least one of the best known, made by the North American Winslow in 1920, which due to its importance is reproduced below:
"Public Health is the art of preventing diseases, prolonging life, promoting health and efficiency through the organized effort of the community for: environmental sanitation; Control of Communicable Diseases; education in personal Hygiene; organization of medical services and nursing for the early diagnosis and preventive treatment of diseases and the development of the social mechanism that ensures each one an adequate standard of living for the preservation of health; organizing these benefits so that each citizen is in conditions of their right natural to health and longevity” (Coovadia et al., 2009).

With more than 46,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States (and more
than 392,000 cases worldwide), it's clear that the novel coronavirus (aka COVID-19), along with
the anxiety surrounding it, isn't going anywhere soon.
Because the virus is so new (it's technically called SARS-CoV-2, FYI), lots of the fear
surrounding COVID-19 stems from how little we know about it. Luckily, experts do know some
pretty important things about the virus' transmission, or how the coronavirus does—and
doesn't—spread.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, COVID-19 is mainly
spread from person-to-person, usually via close contact (within six feet). It can spread through
physical contact like handshaking if someone's hands are contaminated with the virus. And it can
also spread through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes
(again, that's why the six-feet rule is handy: those droplets can travel that far, and land on another
person's mouth or nose, and can even be inhaled).
The virus may also spread from person-to-person through surfaces that have been
touched by those infected. "A sneezing or coughing person will cover their mouth, get it all over
their hand, and then touch something that you then touch," Robert Murphy, MD, an infectious
disease expert at Northwestern University, tells health.com. “The virus can then gain entry into
your body when you touch your own face,” he adds. That’s precisely why experts can only
preach basic disease-prevention measures, like washing hands correctly (20 seconds with soap
and water) and regularly, wiping down common surfaces, and staying away from sick people.
Lastly, another possible way coronavirus can spread between people is via fecal
transmission. According to recent research from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and
Prevention (CCDC), those with confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (aka, COVID-19) have
live virus in stool specimens, meaning there's a possible fecal-oral route for the virus, as well.

Brook wanted to rob the First National Bank located in Newport Beach, Orange County, California. When Hurst found out about Brook’s plan, Hurst asked to join in too as long as no weapons were going to be used. Brook assured Hurst that no weapons would be used. During the robbery, Brook pulled out a gun and pointed it at a teller who was not cooperating in handing over the cash in the teller’s drawer. Hurst did not see Brook pull the gun on the teller. After they had left the bank and were driving away, Brook remarked to Hurst that bringing the gun was a great idea as it made the difference with the teller handing over the cash. Hurst said to Brook, “You said no guns, let me out of the car now.” Brook told Hurst that they were not going to stop anywhere until they were safely in Arizona. Brook and Hurst proceeded non-stop to Nogales, Arizona.
Upon arrival in Nogales, Arizona, Brook and Hurst divided the money from the bank and went their separate ways. Hurst left and met a friend, Solana, but told Solana nothing about the bank robbery. The next day, Brook went across the border into Mexico. Based on a tip, the officers from the Nogales Police Department arrested Hurst and Solana booking both on suspicion of bank robbery. During the interrogation, Hurst told the Nogales police that Brook had fled to Mexico. Solana advised the Nogales police that he had nothing to do with the crime, but the Nogales police have refused to release Solana. The Nogales police advised Mexican authorities who promptly located Brook and arrested him.

On the foothill ranches across the Salinas River, the yellow stubble fields seemed to be bathed in pale cold sunshine, but there was no sunshine in the valley now in December. The thick willow scrub along the river flamed with sharp and positive yellow leaves.
It was a time of quiet and of waiting. The air was cold and tender. A light wind blew up from the southwest so that the farmers were mildly hopeful of a good rain before long; but fog and rain do not go together.
Across the river, on Henry Allen's foothill ranch there was little work to be done, for the hay was cut and stored and the orchards were plowed up to receive the rain deeply when it should come. The cattle on the higher slopes were becoming shaggy and rough-coated.
Elisa Allen, working in her flower garden, looked down across the yard and saw Henry, her husband, talking to two men in business suits. The three of them stood by the tractor shed, each man with one foot on the side of the little Fordson. They smoked cigarettes and studied the machine as they talked.
5Elisa watched them for a moment and then went back to her work. She was thirty-five. Her face was lean and strong and her eyes were as clear as water. Her figure looked blocked and heavy in her gardening costume, a man's black hat pulled low down over her eyes, clodhopper shoes, a figured print dress almost completely covered by a big corduroy apron with four big pockets to hold the snips, the trowel and scratcher, the seeds and the knife she worked with. She wore heavy leather gloves to protect her hands while she worked.
She was cutting down the old year's chrysanthemum stalks with a pair of short and powerful scissors. She looked down toward the men by the tractor shed now and then. Her face was eager and mature and handsome; even her work with the scissors was over-eager, over-powerful. The chrysanthemum stems seemed too small and easy for her energy.
She brushed a cloud of hair out of her eyes with the back of her glove, and left a smudge of earth on her cheek in doing it. Behind her stood the neat white farm house with red geraniums close-banked around it as high as the windows. It was a hard-swept looking little house with hard-polished windows, and a clean mud-mat on the front steps.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
