consisit of provinces of Abra, Benguet, Ifugao,
Kalinga, Mountain Province and Apayao
o Baguio City is the regional center (capital city).
o Known for numerous indigenous tribes
collectively called IGOROTS.
o Known for wood products: wood carvings
o Clothing accessories with distinct Cordillera
patterns can also be bought.
3. BENGUET

PANAGBENGA FESTIVAL
a month-long annual flower festival occurring in
Baguio (the summer capital of the Philippines).
Term from Malayo-Polynesian origin, meaning
“season of blooming”.
Held during the month of February.
Includes:
Floats that are decorated with flowers
Street dancing presented by dancers clad in flower-
inspired costumes.
4. IBALOY AND KANKANA-EY
Occupies the southeast of Benguet.
Speaks Nabaloy, with a linguistic sound nearer the
Pangasinense.
Peaceful, hardworking and hospitable tribesmen.

6. KALINGA AND APAYAO
Used to be single province named Kalinga-
Apayao, until they were split into two to better
service the needs of the individual native tribe
in the province.
Kalingas people – are one of the extensive
terrace builders in the country. They are also
skilled in basketry, loom weaving, metal works,
and skilled potters.

8. IFUGAO
Reside in the mountainous northern portion of
the island of Luzon.
They are good basket weavers.
Cultivation of rice is very important to them.

10. BUL-UL OR BULOL
An Ifugao, anthromorphic carving that symbolizes
an Ifugao rice god or guardian spirits.
Also signifies fertility and is sometimes believed
to house spirits of ancestors.

11. MOUNTAIN PROVINCE
Bounded on the north by Kalinga, on the south
of Ifugao, southwest by Benguet and on the
west by Abra and Ilocus Sur.
Blessed with many natural sceneries, terraces
and other tourists attraction.
Local folk are also known for their artistic
weaving skills.
LANG-AY FESTIVAL
Is a wine and cultural festival to celebrate the Mt.
Province Foundation Day.
It is a week-long activity culminating on the 7th of
April, the Mt. Province Day.
