2. Overview
This presentation is a section from a teaching called, “The Purpose of Your
Fight!”
The point we will be covering in this presentation will focus on the “Fight for
Order”!
I pray that you enjoy. Be on the look out for the podcast of “The Purpose of
You Fight”!
3. The Fight for Order
The church has many cancers, which are simply pieces that are not functioning
properly because they are out of order.
With regard to the fight for order, I want to focus on what is commonly known as
the “5 fold ministry” and it’s proper functioning.
To cover this properly, we must first understand where they came from.
Ephesians 4 speaks of Jesus descending into the lower regions, to give us gifts. Of
these gifts, he provides 5 offices for the “edification of the saints”…Ephesians 4:11-
12:
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of
the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
4. The Fight For Order (cont’d)
What I am about to share will offend some in the body because of pride, but
if they accept this teaching and revelation, the body will see tremendous
growth.
Be warned that failure to understand this teaching and apply it will have an
impact on your ministry.
As I always tell my children, you can do what you want to do, but you can’t
change the consequences.
5. Apostles
Apostles establish where there was nothing established and raises up others
to tend it. They go into world dominated environments and establish.
Apostles are not pastors. If you find an apostle pastoring they are out of
order. They have an anointing to establish and raise up, but not to pastors.
They raise up pastors, they train pastors and establish sound doctrine based
on the Word of God.
Apostles follow up and resolve the weightier issues of congregational
conflicts and provide clarity to God’s word, but they are not pastors.
6. Prophets
Prophets are the mouth piece of God providing people with insights to the
Spirit of God, warnings of God and blessings of God.
Prophets are not pastors. They operate in and out of the spiritual house, but
they instruct nations, not single congregations. They are responsible for
warning leaders and people alike, both the church and the world.
They often walk a lonely or isolated life, which is not conducive to leading the
daily affairs of a flock that comes with pastoring.
7. Evangelist
Evangelist are responsible for guiding sheep into pastures for safe keeping,
grooming and instruction…they are spreaders and compellers…seed movers.
Evangelist are not pastors. They operate in and out of the house, but are not
responsible for shepherding. They lead people to green pastures.
Evangelist take the story of the sower, and go and search for the seeds that
have fallen on the way side, stony ground and amongst the thorns and work
to relocate them to good ground.
They work primarily in established areas or areas that have been tilled by
Apostles and identified by Prophets.
8. Pastors
Pastors are responsible for the daily tending to, instruction and keeping of the
sheep.
Pastors are not apostles, prophets or evangelist, but must be equipped to
teach.
Pastors may be raised up by apostles, identified by prophets as being
ordained to lead the sheep and maintain order according to God’s word.
To nurture and increase what God has planted.
9. Teachers
Teachers are responsible for assisting in the instruction of God’s word, to the
aforementioned offices…apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors.
Teachers are not pastors. They can aide in the instruction of the sheep to
assure God’s word is being provided in a manner consumable for the flock.
Teachers are vital to the flock and help keep parasites off the flock.
10. Conclusion
If we do not gain order in the body and continue to have ministers operate out of
position, the flock will never be adequately covered, nor will those outside the
protection of God be brought into safety properly.
Each office that I have outlined may have brief seasons where they operate in the
gift, but not the office.
For example God will share prophetic insight with a pastor for a specific purpose or
season, but that does not make the pastor a prophet. This is what happens, people
see him operate in the prophetic and push them into office.
Consider when the people sought to lay hands on Jesus and make him king…he
knew that was not his purpose.
So if you are currently walking in an office out of order, stop, repent and get to the
calling that God has ordained for you. It’s okay to say you missed it!
