- Expectations have changed; Building users want spaces that support their productivity. Creative ideas for our colleagues and customers
- Smart is a basic user need. (HVAC, lighting and multifunctional spaces) Buildings as efficient assets or overheads? Lifecycle costing and marginal gains- does the building perform to design criteria and what can be done to improve this
- Connectivity of technology provides new and exciting opportunities to transform systems, insights and management of real estate.
- Who are the target beneficiaries? Building managers or building users? BS view is that if we shift attitudes to embrace smart building features, there must be an end user benefit i.e whats in it for me?
- Remote working capability is widespread. Both have implications smart/intelligent building operation. Space utilisation? Maintenance and cleaning of space? Do I know how my space is used? How do users rate the performance of my spaces? What is my evidence base for the business case?
- Our experience will be no different, we want to do the best with what we have. Striking a balance between centralised and remote – role dependant as the tech is there to facilitate both. The real estate is critical to accommodating our assets and ensuring these are resilient and reliable. Without solid foundations remote working capability is compromised. Both have centralised and remote working have implications smart/intelligent building operation. Space utilisation? Maintenance and cleaning of space? Do I know how my space is used? How do users rate the performance of my spaces? What is my evidence base for the business case?
