UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.

The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.

"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.

2. Globalization is a complex phenomenon that has
had a significant impact on local cultures and
economies around the world. As nations have
become more interconnected through advances
in transportation, communication, and technology,
the exchange of goods, ideas, and information
has accelerated, leading to increased
globalization.

3. The Effects Of Globalization On Local
Cultures And Economies
While globalization has brought
about numerous benefits such as
increased access to information,
technological advancements, and
economic opportunities, it has also
resulted in significant changes to
local cultures and economies, both
positive and negative.
https://www.desertcart.co.za/
4. The Effects Of Globalization On Local
Cultures And Economies
One of the effects of globalization on
local cultures is the homogenization of
cultural practices and values. As people
are exposed to different cultures through
media, travel, and the internet, local
traditions and customs may be
influenced by global trends, leading to a
loss of cultural diversity.
https://www.desertcart.co.za/
5. The Effects Of Globalization On Local
Cultures And Economies
For example, Western cultural influences, such
as fast food chains, fashion trends, and popular
music, have become pervasive in many
countries, leading to a decline in traditional local
cuisines, clothing styles, and music genres.
This can result in a loss of cultural identity and a
sense of belonging for local communities, as
their unique cultural practices and heritage are
eroded by global influences.
https://www.desertcart.co.za/
6. The Effects Of Globalization On Local
Cultures And Economies
Furthermore, globalization has also led to
the spread of a consumerist culture, where
material possessions and consumer goods
are prioritized over traditional values and
practices. This can lead to changes in
social norms and values, as people are
encouraged to adopt globalized
consumerist lifestyles, often at the expense
of local cultural practices and traditions.
https://www.desertcart.co.za/
7. The Effects Of Globalization On Local
Cultures And Economies
For example, traditional craftsmanship and
artisanal skills may be replaced by mass-
produced goods, leading to a decline in
local craftsmanship and traditional
livelihoods. This can have a significant
impact on local economies, as traditional
industries and livelihoods are disrupted,
leading to unemployment and economic
inequality.
https://www.desertcart.co.za/
8. The Effects Of Globalization On Local
Cultures And Economies
In addition, globalization has also led
to the commodification of culture,
where local cultural practices are
commercialized and marketed to
global audiences. This can result in the
transformation of cultural practices
from meaningful traditions to
commercial products, designed for
global consumption.
https://www.desertcart.co.za/
9. The Effects Of Globalization On Local
Cultures And Economies
For example, traditional arts and crafts may
be mass-produced for the tourist market,
leading to the loss of authenticity and
meaning associated with these cultural
practices. This can also result in the
exploitation of local cultural resources and
knowledge, as global corporations
capitalize on local cultural practices for
profit, often without adequately
compensating local communities.
https://www.desertcart.co.za/
10. The Effects Of Globalization On Local
Cultures And Economies
On the other hand, globalization has also brought about positive
effects on local cultures and economies. Increased global
connectivity has facilitated cultural exchange, leading to the
enrichment and diversification of local cultures. People can learn
about and appreciate different cultures from around the world,
leading to the emergence of hybrid cultural practices that
combine global and local influences. This can result in the
revitalization of local cultural practices, as communities adapt and
innovate based on global influences, while still maintaining their
unique cultural identities.https://www.desertcart.co.za/
11. Globalization has also provided new economic opportunities for
local communities. Access to global markets has enabled local
producers to expand their reach and export their goods and
services to international markets. This can lead to increased
economic growth, job creation, and poverty reduction. For
example, farmers in developing countries may be able to sell their
produce to international markets, generating income and
improving their standard of living. Moreover, globalization has
also facilitated the transfer of technology, knowledge, and
expertise, which can enhance local productivity and
competitiveness.

12. The Effects Of Globalization On Local
Cultures And Economies
Another positive effect of globalization on local
economies is the inflow of foreign investment.
Multinational corporations may establish
operations in local communities, creating jobs,
providing training opportunities, and boosting
economic growth. This can lead to the transfer
of technology, knowledge, and management
practices, which can enhance local capabilities
and competitiveness.

14. The Effects Of Globalization On Local
Cultures And Economies
However, it is important to note that the
impact of foreign investment can vary
depending on the local context and the
policies in place to regulate foreign
investment.
Furthermore, globalization has also led to
increased cultural awareness and
tolerance among people from different
cultures.
