The study aimed to examine if brief mindfulness meditation improved cognitive performance on attention, problem-solving, and working memory tests. Participants were randomly assigned to an experimental group that practiced guided meditation for 20 minutes daily or a control group. Both groups took cognitive tests before and after. No significant differences were found between or within the groups. The study was limited by a small sample size, lack of supervision for meditation, and inability to control for prior meditation experience. Further research is needed to better understand the effects of brief mindfulness meditation while addressing methodological issues.
