There are three types of sarcasm or irony identified by the Roman rhetorician Quintilian over 2,000 years ago based on inconsistencies between a statement's literal meaning and its delivery, speaker, or topic. Studies have also found that gender and occupation can indicate a person's likelihood to use and detect sarcasm, with men using it more for self-protection and women for intimacy and vulnerability. Sarcasm can also take the form of ironic insults that appear positive on the surface but intend negativity.

Excusable homicide involves killing with legal authorization from authorities, such as for law enforcement. Felonious homicide is intentional killing without legal justification, like murder. Justifiable homicide includes cases of self-defense or accidental death. Praiseworthy homicide is when a group approves of a killing, such as of a hated leader. In conclusion, the document outlines the four "supreme dictators of the crime world" or categories of homicide.
The document discusses numerous controversies and allegations of unethical behavior surrounding Piers Morgan. The author is angered by Morgan repeatedly avoiding responsibility and questions why companies continue to employ someone with such a controversial history of running false stories and breaching codes of conduct. Specific cases discussed include a phone hacking incident, inappropriate headlines, profiting off stock tips, and Morgan's long-running feud with Jeremy Clarkson.
This document is an individual journal entry summarizing an article about the fatal shooting of an unarmed African American man by a white police officer in South Carolina. The student notes that the incident was captured on video, contradicting the officer's claim that he felt endangered. The shooting has raised questions about whether racial stereotyping was a factor, as African Americans are often disproportionately suspected of crimes. Racial stereotyping, discrimination, and a lack of solutions to address them continue to be major problems, especially in countries like the US.
The document discusses the target audience for a psychological thriller media production. It notes that while the group aimed for those aged 16 and over, the psychological subgenre is more likely to appeal to older viewers aged 25 and above. It also indicates that thrillers traditionally attract more male viewers, but having a female main actor could draw in female viewers as well. Additionally, the document states that thrillers generally appeal more to men due to their depiction of graphic violence and topics like murder, which commonly involve male killers and female victims.

The document discusses whether the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida by Omar Mateen was an act of terrorism or a hate crime. It provides details about Mateen's background, history of domestic violence, anger issues, and hostility towards public displays of affection between gay men. It also compares the Orlando shooting to other mass shootings and attacks in the US motivated by white supremacy and anti-government beliefs. FBI investigations into Mateen's previous statements of support for terrorist groups and his pledge of allegiance to ISIS during the attack provide evidence that it was an act of terrorism rather than just a hate crime.

The Effect of Brief Mindfulness on Cognitive Test PerformanceDavid Leverty
The study aimed to examine if brief mindfulness meditation improved cognitive performance on attention, problem-solving, and working memory tests. Participants were randomly assigned to an experimental group that practiced guided meditation for 20 minutes daily or a control group. Both groups took cognitive tests before and after. No significant differences were found between or within the groups. The study was limited by a small sample size, lack of supervision for meditation, and inability to control for prior meditation experience. Further research is needed to better understand the effects of brief mindfulness meditation while addressing methodological issues.

U.S. history to fire a bullet at a sitting president. At the time, the governmentand
the media did not reveal the full facts of this near miss or the remarkablestory of
Moore’s life as a double agent for the FBI and underground terroristorganizations
in San Francisco.
Moore’s OutreachtoSpieler
Shortly after Moore’s arrest, Spieler received a letter fromMoore asking to
arrangea meeting with her at the prison. That visitinitiated a relationship
between Spieler and Moore that spanned three decades and culminated in this
shocking and in-depth portrait of the would-be-assassin’spsyche. Furthermore,
Spieler conducted her own independent research, including an interview with
2. PresidentFord himself, to sortthe real facts fromMoore’s skewed narrativeof
her own past.
“Geri Spieler’s book is the definitive sourceon this fascinating and underreported
story. Her access and research add up to a thrilling story that will leap off the
screen,” said Allen and Logan.
