◈ One of the most talked about war Jewish victim of
Holocaust WWII.
◈ She became famous posthumously in 1947 with the
publication of The Diary of a Young Girl.
◈ The book talks about her life in hiding during 1942 to 1944
under the German occupation of Netherland.
◈ One of the most popular book- on the basis of which
many movies and serials have been produced.

◈ Anne kept diary from 12th June 1942 to 1st Aug 1944.
◈ In 1944 Gerrit Bolkestein, a member of the Dutch
government in exile announced in a radiobroadcast
from London, about the accounts of the suffering of
Dutch people under the German occupation. (Especially
letters and diaries.)
◈ Anne gets impressed by this speech and decided to
publish this writing once the war gets over.
