This document discusses the design of reinforced soil structures and earth-retaining walls. It covers the construction procedure for reinforced soil walls including placing and compacting layers of fill and reinforcement materials. Issues with corrosion of reinforcement are mentioned. The roles and responsibilities, limit state design approach, reduction factors, wall dimensions, embedment, design limit states, and interface issues between wall designers are reviewed. Drainage considerations like strip drains, weepholes and embankment fill are also addressed.
