Harry is left home alone by his parents who go out for the evening. He tricks a pizza delivery man into coming to the house by pretending to be his mother and changing the pizza order. When the delivery man arrives, Harry electrocutes him with wires attached to the door handle. He then pours marbles on the floor to cause the delivery man to slip. Harry jumps on top of him. The film ends implying Harry has kidnapped multiple pizza delivery men and locked them in the basement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
2. EXT.DRIVEWAY.DAY
A very family looking detached house rests serenely within
the trees on an autumn day. An ever so slight grunt & moan
can be heard.
INT.HALLWAY. DAY
The backsides of a man in a suit with a woman in a floral
skirt can be seen. Harry, a rather sweet looking 12 year old
staring up lovingly, is nestled in between. The backsides
dwarf Harry.
MUM
Darling, we’ve ordered you
margarita because you know the
effect quattro formagio has on your
tummy.
Harry takes a long blink with a face of pure disappointment
DAD
Here’s £20
Harry takes the £20 note
We’ll be back by 10
MUM
Are you going to be a good boy?
Harry does not respond
DAD
He’s always a good boy
Dad ruffles Harry’s hair with the palm of his hand
MUM
Aren’t you a good little boy Harry
Mum grabs Harry’s cheek
HARRY
Yes.
Harry smirks at the camera before going into his cupboard
and pulling out a rucksack; he then leans over the desk in
his bedroom to look outside the window and below onto the
driveway were he can see his parents car drive off down the
road.
3. 2.
INT.KITCHEN.DAY
Harry places his rucksack next to the front door and picks
up the pizza leaflet on the side counter in the kitchen
after and walks towards the house phone. He types in the
phone number of the company before he pulls the hood of his
hoodie up over his head and has his hand over his mouth in a
suspicious posture/pose.
PIZZA COMPANY
Hello, Pizza-4-You, how may I help
you?
HARRY
(mock female voice)
Hello? Hello? I’m Mrs Blake, I
ordered a margarita several moments
ago for delivery... I would infact
like to change that to a Quattro
Formagio...., same address, Thanks.
Bye.
Harry hangs up the phone and next to the phone there is a
speaker system which he turns the volume up on.
RADIO
Good afternoon, dangerous pizza
delivery drivers.....
Harry changes radio station to a happy upbeat music before
dancing and miming the song lyrics around his kitchen, with
the house phone being used as a microphone.
INT. TV ROOM. DAY
Harry is sitting comfortably in his TV Room playing Grand
Theft Auto on his PlayStation. By this stage all other
music/sound effects are off other than the sound of buttons
being pressed from the remote controller and the sounds of
the game in general.
HARRY
Come on then! Bring it on! Well
hello you, how would you like to be
killed? With my shotgun? My pistol?
Or my bare fists? The shotgun? Good
idea.
A loud bullet sound can be heard from the game before police
sirens are heard. The door bell is rung. Harry immediately
pauses his game where the whole film suddenly goes quiet
until we hear a subtle heart-beat. The doorbell is rung
4. 3.
again. Harry sprints out of the TV Room and heads towards
the front door.
INT. FRONT HALL/FRONT DOOR. DAY
Harry opens the front door to the pizza delivery man, the
pizza delivery man is a tall fair skin, young twenty year
old dressed in blue motorcycle overall.
PIZZA DELIVERY MAN
(Smirks) Where’s ya parents
kiddo?
HARRY
They’re out; and I’ve got the whole
house to myself.
Harry cross his arms and smirks back at the delivery man
PIZZA DELIVERY MAN
*chuckles* Alright then mate
Pizza delivery man takes a step towards Harry and is nearly
in the house before crouching down to Harry’s hight.
PIZZA DELIVERY MAN
That’ll be £11.99.
Harry immediately snatches the pizza box out of his hands
and slams the door on him. He then places the pizza box next
to the rucksack. The rucksack is then opened and pulls out
DJ decks and some wires before connecting the wires to the
door handle. The pizza delivery man is furiously banging on
the door handle, he then becomes electrocuted. Harry then
pulls out a cotton bag from the rucksack, tied together with
string before opening it and pouring the marbles onto the
floor. He then removes the wires from the door, which he
then opens before rushing towards the kitchen shouting...
HARRY
Bet ya can’t catch me
As the pizza delivery man enters the house he attempts to
run after Harry, before slipping over on the marbles and
falling flat on his back. Harry then runs towards the
delivery man and jumps on top of him.
5. 4.
EXT. FRONT DRIVE. EVENING
The parents car pulls up in the driveway. Both parents get
out the house and walk towards the front door.
INT. FRONT HALL/FRONT DOOR. EVENING
Harry opens the front door for them with a gleaming smile on
his face before getting a kiss hello as they hand him a gift
and walk upstairs. Harry then turns and faces the camera
with a cheeky smile before slowly walking towards the
camera.
INT. BASEMENT. EVENING
The tied up pizza delivery man is in the basement with a
cloth in his mouth and hands tied up behind his back, we can
still hear muted screams before the camera pans across and
we can see 7 tied up pizza delivery men.
CUE CREDITS. THE END.
