1) Veronica and her friends go to her grandmother's lake house for the weekend. They find a mysterious blank book that seems to move on its own. 2) The next day, Veronica finds the book in her bedroom even though she had put it on the bookshelf. When they examine it again, writing has appeared in the book. 3) Veronica's grandmother arrives and explains to the shocked group that they are all descended from witches and are destined for greatness.
