3. INTRODUCTION
After many years of feeling empty and hopeless, Carolyn became born
again at the age of 41. A very unexpected experience with life altering
results.
She had always been searching to fill what felt like a gaping hole in her
life, almost a physical pain. There was always a feeling of hopelessness
no matter the situation. Feeling separate in a room full of people, a
smile that never reached the heart or the eyes. She went down the
route of yoga hoping it would fill the void. It didn't, there was always
something missing.
The moment she became born again on the 25th October 2019, she
felt total completeness. Since then she has been studying what it
means to be a Child of God and discovering her identity in Christ.

4. WHO IS YOUR AUTHOR
Carolyn spent 16 years practicing yoga, 5 years teaching yoga and has been
teaching Aligned Movement since 2020. 760hrs of yoga teacher training
and thousands of hours of teaching students from all across the world.
Carolyn is also a qualified level 3 Sports massage therapist as well as a
certified mBIT Coach.
The Vision the Lord has given her is to empower individuals to claim and
walk in their divine authority in Christ, to heal and to be a fisher of men.
She is a co-creater with God of Aligned Movement a seven pillar
methodology rooted in biblical wisdom focused on optimising the body.
She is the c0-creator of the course Aligned Authenticity that teaches
Christian women how to embrace their identity so they can live their
purpose and be their true authentic selves.

5. One sunny August day in London back in 2019, I found myself in church, a
place I had not been to in over fifteen years. I had simply become
disillusioned with the meaning of it all. I had nothing against it per se but I
did feel that so much wrong had been done in the name of religion. Most of
the extreme behaviour we see in the news is very much linked to religion
and very off-putting. I didn't understand there was a big difference between
having a relationship with God and being religious.
I had wandered away from the church. I remember as child going with my
family and that was one of the reasons I liked it, plus I had no choice. My
mum even had a short stint in the Jehovah's Witnesses. Thank God this was
very short lived. I am pretty sure we hid from them once when they came
knocking. My mum told us all to be quiet until they went away.
I turned up very late to church on my first service in fifteen years and I
remember the pastor saying something to me that no one would have
known aside from me. I was thoroughly freaked out, I even took a swift look
behind me. I kept going back despite it being a real struggle, I felt drained
every time I stepped off the tube at Lancaster Gate. It always seemed like a
mission to get there, I was teaching yoga in East London, all the way across
town in Ilford and church was in West London. So suffice to say something
in me really wanted to be there.
Fast forward a couple of months to October and I went to York for a friend's
wedding. I turned up at my Airbnb, It was a very rainy Friday afternoon and
the host had called me to see if I needed a lift. I opted to jump into a taxi to
save her the journey, traffic seemed to be busy into the station. From what I
can gather now, my host never meets her guests because I spotted a
lockbox when popping out to eat later that day. On this particular day, she
offered me a cup of tea, I accepted because it was raining and I was cold. It
rained the whole weekend but somehow I still had a really great time.
We talked about life, cloning, her amazing testimony about the miracle of
how God saved her life from a fire in her bed. She asked me if I was born
again and I told her I had no idea what it meant to be born again. A rather
eccentric blond British lady with a little dog asking me this question was a
little odd looking back on it. God really does work in mysterious ways. It
showed me He is always present.

6. She simply said oh no problem, it's easy, you just read this prayer and that's
it, as she handed me a card. I for some reason did not hesitate. I started to
say the prayer and literally felt a wave of goosebumps wash through my body
from the top of my head down into my feet. I started sobbing unexpectedly
halfway through the prayer. She came over to hug me and prayed over me
in what I now know to be tongues, God's heavenly language, while I sobbed. I
knew straight away that something profound had just happened. I finally
managed to dry my tears, a little shell shocked. She handed me my key for
the weekend and said her goodbyes. I have not seen her since, but she did
check in on me a day later.
When I called a friend later to tell her I was born again, she screamed down
the phone. I had no idea what had happened and just how significant it really
was.
I have spent the last three years going through a deep spiritual
transformation. Everything I understood about myself has literally been
turned upside down. Who and what I know of myself was a lie, a mirage. So
discovering who my identity in Christ truly is has been a journey and a half
with many winding roads. I am not the person my family knew before.
I realised I had been hearing from God long before my encounter in York.
When I was a teenager I was walking home on the road just across from our
house. There was a row of trees about 2m apart along the road. It was a
slightly wider turn and cars tended to go around it just that bit too fast.
I was walking on the roadside of the trees and I remember hearing a very
clear voice saying “If you don't move you are going to die”. I simply took one
step to the right and continued walking on the other side of the trees, within
30 seconds I heard a succession of bangs as if something was colliding with a
hard object over and over. It turns out a mini bus was going too fast and it's
side was smashing along the line of trees on the road side of the same trees I
had been walking along. I had been in direct line of that minibus and would
have been squashed had I not moved.
Luckily for me I was on the other side of the trees and perfectly unharmed. A
nun came running down the road expecting to find me badly injured, from a
distance it looked like I was under that mini bus because she had seen me
walking along the road side of the trees. But God had other ideas for me that
day.

7. She was so shocked and so happy to see me standing and perfectly safe. I
was about 10 seconds away from home by this point. The story of Carolyn
Zimba could have ended right there on that road side that day, but here I
am alive to tell the tale. I believe God sent one of my guardian angels to
protect me.
The Carolyn writing this today is literally a changed woman, I do not
recognise myself let alone people around me. In terms of the way I was
teaching, I had already began shifting away from yoga. My sessions were a
little unusual, sun salutations had become sparce. But classes were very
effective and I would run out of space in the studio with the number of
people wanting to join in. I always said I was downloading my classes
because they were never planned and just evolved but it was always exactly
what people needed. I even had grown men crying in class, so much healing
is needed in this world.
As lockdown hit the UK my yoga classes came to a full stop. I was a little
relieved to have the time off, to be honest, OK a lot relieved. I had been
doing some crazy hours with 5 am wake ups, leaving home at 6 am for 7 am
sessions and late evening classes so suffice to say I really enjoyed catching
up on my sleep. Burnout is a real thing.
The time gave me the opportunity to assess my methodology and the
framework I was working with in my sessions. I realised it was not yoga. It
was something far more powerful. It was effective and a mix of different
movement modalities and elements of different therapies and some of it
simply intuitive.
Based on all my years of experience, I should have seen more progress. I
understand now that God had blocked any significant success with Yoga
because He had other plans for me. I did not realise why until I began to
study the bible and receive revelation from the LORD. I always felt like
something was missing in my life. I felt like I was constantly searching, I
always felt like the odd one out, set apart, like I did not fit. The moment I
acknowledged God, I felt complete, the hollowness was gone. I don't
recognise myself or my life anymore. I have such confidence in my abilities, I
don't feel anxious about anything anymore, just a deep knowing and trust.
Faith is trust in that which is unseen. Despite any challenges in life, I am
calm and confident that everything is working out for my good.

8. I no longer teach what people call traditional yoga and I don't recocomend
anyone do it. There are too many people teaching who do not understand
the spiritual consequences of what they are teaching. I used to be one of
them. The key difference is the source of the healing I offer. Because of the
Holy Spirit I am able to actually sense the discomfort in an individual's body
and guide them through the clearing process. I have paraphrased the
scripture but as Genesis 50:20 says God has turned for good what the
enemy meant for evil.
I took time to remove yoga from all of my platforms aside from
acknowledging my training and experience. So you will see the
accreditations on my website, but I am very clear that I have renounced,
denounced and divorced myself from yoga. This is important in order to not
downplay the amount of dedication and discipline it took to undertake the
training. However I do not practice yoga. I am a child of God, a Christian, I
am a healer, passionate about igniting the light within others to empower
them to walk in their purpose. Some of the movements are still a part of
what I do, however, the LORD has modified the combinations and
repurposed everything. I look at the mind, body and spirit as a whole to
optimise a person through functional movement, emotional, mental and
spiritual health.
The biggest shift for me is how my life is far easier; worry, stress and anxiety
free. The hopelessness is now gone, sixteen years of yoga did not fix that. I
only see victory and abundance in everything I do now. Before I made the
shift, I would try things out and on the surface, I had a little success. But it
was shortlived and temporary, plus stressful and felt like hard work. It says
in the Bible things of the world are temporary. Jesus said my yoke is easy
and my burden is light.
2 Corinthians 4:18 ESV
as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.
For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen
are eternal.

9. I now know I am unstoppable and there are no limits to what I can achieve
or how many people I can help because I am in Christ. I can do all things in
Christ Jesus. I think everyone deserves this feeling of completeness.
Something I never had when practicing yoga, it was always temporary and
nowhere near as fulfilling. Satan is an excellent counterfeitier, he knows all
the rules of this world and spiritual law and he uses it to bamboozle
ignorant people. They say the biggest trick satan played was convincing
people that he does not exist.

overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all
things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of
Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.

people permission to do the same.”

Because I am in Christ and he dwells in me, I am the light of the world.
I have come to realise my purpose is to be a light of the world and to inspire
others to shine bright. When you light candle using another candle, the first
one does not go out. So if we each light others up, there can only be more
light in the darkness, not a dimming.

10. CONTRARY TO GOD

Things may feel great to begin with, but this good feeling is
temporary.
2 Corinthians 4:4 ESV
In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the
unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of
the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
By blinding the minds of men to the true gospel of God, Satan
has set himself up as a counterfeit of the Creator God. As the
prince of the power of the air, he broadcasts his evil, rebellious
attitudes to all humanity, and except for a few whom God has
called out of his deceptions, the whole world lives under his
sway (Ephesians 2:1-3; I John 5:19; Revelation 12:9).

11. The Sanskrit noun योग yoga is derived from the root yuj (युज्) "to
attach, join, harness, yoke". Yoga is a cognate of the English word
"yoke".
The question then becomes what are you yoking yourself to, Life
or death? You yoke yourself to Life, (Christ), John 14:6 shows us
he is the only way to the Father. 1 Cor 15:45 tells us Christ
brought life for us. And Matt 11:30 reassures us his yoke is easy,
and his burden is light.
From personal experience things work for a time in yoga, so
people believe it works. I had a very clear revelation from the
LORD that yoga is dangerous. Most of the practices are indeed
spiritual and the movement side only came about later. So if you
think yoga is not spiritual you are sorely mistaken.
Kundilini is the term for a spiritual energy or life force located at
the base of the spine, conceptualized by a coiled up serpent.
The ultimate goal of yoga is to awaken the “kundalini” (“divine
power”) through asanas (postures) and pranayama (breath
work). The kundalini is said to be a coiled serpent that is
wrapped three and a half times when at rest at the base of the
human spine. When it is awakened, it is believed to move up
through the seven types of chakras along the spine and then
bursts into the “thousand-petaled lotus” in the cerebral cortex.
At that point, the yogi experiences “divine ecstasy” when the
“atman” (the individual self) is unified with “Brahman” (the
universal self) thus supposedly “becoming one with god.

12. Lets go back to Gen 3:1-4. The serpent deceived Eve and Adam
out of man's authority and dominion on earth. God was clearly
vexed, He cursed the serpent to no longer walk upright. So a
serpent is not supposed to walk upright as far as God is
concerned.
Earlier you read how kundilini is supposed to make its way up
the spine, in yoga the aim is to awaken kundilini. The fact that
there is mention of a serpent at the base of the spine should
automatically send warning signals; but people have been
blinded to the danger.

But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.
The spinal cord is an extension of the central nervous system
(CNS) which consists of the brain and spinal cord. This is the
command centre for your physical system.
Now if you go on the basis that everything is spiritual, the
revelation I received is that its a serpents way of walking upright
again through a human being. This requires consent from the
person. Many yogis seek to awaken kundilini.
To have the body controlled by a serpent is a little scary and
Plenty of yogis are happily agreeing to this and therefore
enacting spiritual law in their consent.
Yoga has its roots in religious occult. It can not be separated from religion,
false gods and goddesses. Spiritual first, not just innocent stretching. All the
chanting, and ritualistic practices are doing something in the spirit realm.
Having travelled to India four times and over the sixteen years I practiced
yoga, I can vouch for the fact that there is a link. Temples are full of statues
depicting gods and goddesses. The offerings taken to worship them is big
business. The roads leading up to the temples are full of shops with
coconuts, and trinkets to be placed at the foot of statues. As much as
people want to deny it, everything in this life is spiritual. As it is written in
Hosea 4:6 Ignorance is literally killing people.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected
knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten
the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
The bible is very clear in the first commandment on what God thinks of
idolatry. There are numerous places in the bible where we are reminded to
not worship false gods.

Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves molten gods (images cast in metal);
I am the Lord your God.
Galatians 4:8 TPT
Before we knew God as our Father, we were unwitting servants to the powers
that be, which are nothing compared to God.

carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the
earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down
to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of
those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me
and keep My commandments.
Think of all those 'healing' crystals, charms, burning sage, dream catchers and
other such practices. Those things do NOT heal or ward off evil spirits. If
anything they open doorways for evil spirits to have access to you in order to
torment you. I had to spend some time just clearing out all the objects I had in
my house. I had angel cards, crystals, palo santos, plus a bunch of other
trinkets. All my yoga books and paraphernalia had to go! Closing off the
doorways is a story for another day.

14. Man was made in God's likeness, God is Spirit, that means we man are also spirit,
not the body we inhabit.
A spirit with a soul, living in a dirt body.
The hidden man of the heart, the inward man is the real man, the spirit man. Not
the physical body we see.

The spirit God breathed into man is like a living lamp, a shining light searching into
the innermost chamber of our being.

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole
spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
If we look at the order of the parts of a man, we see that the body is in fact the
outer external part of a man and the spirit is the true inner man. When a person is
born again, the inward man is born again; the hidden man of the heart is the spirit
of man. The real man. You are not your body contrary to popular belief.

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is
being renewed day by day.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the
powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces
of wickedness in the heavenly places.
There is a war raging for our souls. Satan's mission is to steal, kill and destroy and
he is working hard to take down as many souls as he can to hell. People are
making it far too easy for him. Even for myself, my past ignorance made it very
easy for him to lead me down the wrong paths but I am free from the bondage of
sin now through Christ Jesus.

15. Being born again is a process. It is just the beginning of the story. The mind and
the body that were operating under the influence of wordly wisdom now need to
do something different for complete transformation to take place. Yes the person
will be going to heaven but how they experience life here and now is determined
by who they are and this comes from their beliefs and behaviours.
The soul is the immaterial part of a human being, often regarded as immortal,
which gives us personality. Our souls perceive the psychological realms through
our minds, emotions, and wills.
A well-summarized description of the human soul is: “Our soul is our personality,
who we are. With our soul we think, reason, consider, remember, and wonder. We
experience emotions like happiness, love, sorrow, anger, relief, and compassion.
And we’re able to resolve, choose, and make decisions”
If you look at the diargam below it shows three figures representing a person
before they are born again. Where the heart is located shows the self centredness
of a person. When they are operating under their own knowledge and wisdom.
This same wisdom will be a result of life experiences, worldly wisdom, and is under
the influence of the father of this world satan.

16. Before Adam and Eve fell they are fully spiritually connected with God, but this
changed after they ate the fruit. When God asked Adam where are you in Genesis
3, He did no mean physically but spritually where are you? The connection with
God had been severed. And Adam was now operating under his own
understanding but it was not fully matured. Because we are descendents of Adam,
we also have the same nature when we are born unless we make that choice to
believe in Jesus sacrifice and become born again.
If we look at Exodus and the behaviour exhibited by the Isrealites, they allowd their
body to lead them in sin, debauchery, feeding the senses with pleasurable things
of the world. All things in opposition to God.
Below is a diagram of the saved man. The key thing for a saved man is to allow the
wisdom of God to filter through the inner man out into life. The Holy Spirit is the
action wisdom of God. We need to choose to follow the guiding of the Holy Spirit
and therefore tapping into the all knowing wisdom of God. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us
to not rely on our own understanding. It can never match up to what God knows
about a situation. So many times God has guided me to do something, it looks
insane but then I see the result and realise God knew something I did not about a
situation and guided me accordingly. The wisdom of God flows from left to right in
the diagram.

17. Everything in this life is spiritual. As you walk in Spirit and take your guidance from
the Holy Spirit, it will be clear to you what is of God and you will discern those false
things of the world.
John 14:16 AMPC
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor,
Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain
with you forever.

For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

My old identity has been co-crucified with Christ and no longer lives. And now the
essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life
through me—we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the
Son of God who loves me so much that he gave himself for me, dispensing his life
into mine!
Your mind has been under the influence of this corrupted world unguarded for
years. But now you as a born again child of God have that connection with the
Father restored. Your inward man is now connected with God as with Adam
before the fall. The heart is considered the inward man of a person, the real
person. Your mind follows your heart, your inward man. And therefore you follow
God's wisdom and guidance.

personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving Spirit [restoring the dead

18. We must renew our mind daily with the Word of God. We are
made in His likeness so we need to learn God's ways, His nature
and character so we are not deceived and we can live differently,
since the old self has fallen away.

Rom 8:11 says our bodies are quicken, given life by the Holy
Spirit. This same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead,
resides in every believer, so why should any child of God
entertain sickness, disease or corruption in their body.

19. This does not mean the devil will not try to cause havoc, his job
description clearly states, steal, kill or destroy. You must stand
on the authority you have been given through Christ Jesus and
resist the devil so he will flee. How many obstacles have you
encountered in your life?
The Hebrew term śāṭān (Hebrew: ‫ן‬ ‫ָט‬ ‫)ָׂש‬ is a generic noun
meaning "accuser" or "adversary", and is derived from a verb
meaning primarily "to obstruct, oppose".

word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and

20. We do not fight our own battles in this world, God does the
heavy lifting but we need to be willing to surrender to Him in
order to find our strength in Him.
Prayer is such an important part of the equation, its where we
fellowship and converse with God. When we pray we loose God's
power on earth and allow Him to meddle in our affairs. Since His
wisdom trumps our feeble knowledge, its always a good idea to
just pray and be obedient to His guidance. Praying in Spirit
(tongues) strengthens the connection we have with God and
increases His influence in our lives. Sometimes He will wake you
up in the middle of the night to pray. For all you know you may
be praying against being run over by a bus the next day or for
someone else. A lot of people feel uncomfortable praying in
Spirit. I love it and dedicate as much time as possible to the
exercise, sometimes up to 5hrs a day, maybe more.
Our beliefs determine our thoughts, our thoughts lead to our
actions and therefore our results. So the belief is Christ died for
us. This now determines our identity, your identity is a child of
God; who God says you are. As you focus on the bible, the word
you begin to get to know God and His nature. Since we are made
in His spiritual image, it is actually our own nature we are
learning too; So a great manual for how to do life. Knowing God,
hearing from Him, allowing yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit
means you tap into God's all knowing wisdom. Then no one can
lie to you about what God is saying about your life.

21. Meditation - the yogic way of meditation calls for a person to
empty their mind. I believe the mind is very expensive real
estate. Satan can't read our minds but he can drop thoughts into
them. If you are creating a vacuum, something needs to go in
there. What are you making space for?
2 Corinthians 11:3
But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s
cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your
sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

Then it says, ‘I’ll return to the house I moved out of,’ and so it
goes back, only to find that the house is vacant, warm, and ready
for it to move back in.
The key is replacement. If you have heard of the story of the
hungry angry wolf and the loving, kind wolf, you will know they
represent our thoughts. If they got into fight, who would win is
the question. The answer is the one you feed. So replace
thoughts with what you want to see. God is very clear in Joshua
1:8 that we are to meditate on the Word daily. To renew our
minds daily.
Joshua 1:8 ESV
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you
shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to
do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make
your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Philippians 4:8 TPT
Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and
real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure
and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every
glorious work of God, praising him always.
MEDITATION

22. WHAT ABOUT THE BODY?
The body is the most external part of an individual. A spirit with a soul living
inside a body. 1 cor 6:19 says the body is a temple for the Holy Spirit and 1
Cor 3:17 reminds us that we must keep it pure. We are to offer our bodies
as living sacrifices to God.
Your Spirit can take care of your body, but your body can not take care of
your Spirit. This is why losing weight and focusing on the body feels good
for a time but then people still feel miserable. Cultivate an inside out life,
not an outside in life. Living your life for the external gratificiation is not
satisfying to the soul. We must learn to allow the Spirit to sustain the body.
This also prevents confusion in the mind.
The mind and body are intrinsically connected, you can't work on one
without influencing the other. In John 2:21 Christ spoke of the temple of his
body. We are Christ body and therefore sacred, so we need to treat the
body like a temple and keep it pure and sactified.
In Aligned Movement the focus is optimisng the body to be strong and
flexible. A suitable home for the Holy Spirit to reside.
We are God's workmanship, He made us
last after creating the world, the stars, the
sun and the moon, plants and animals so
we would have a supply of abundancy.
Land to walk, water to drink ,food to eat.
God is the source of our supply.
Gen 1:2 Satan was jealous of the care and
love God took to create man and the fact
that He gave dominion to Adam.
God does not make junk, so we need to
be good stewards of our bodies, gifts,
time, world, and resources.
Matt 25:14-30

23. THE LIFE OF THE BODY
The body responds to the mind/soul. The mind responds to the Spirit.
The more you turn your attention to the LORD, the stronger you
become. A strong mind, a strong body. Unshakable in the face of
challenges or tribulations.
The body is far more capable than we give it credit, but we allow the
mind to get in the way sometimes. The body has been brought to life
by the Holy Sprit. In yoga there was spiritual death, even for those
people who appeared to have amazing practices and are super
bendy. The condition of the heart, the spirit is poor. No life, I can
speak from expereince where I felt so dead inside. The joyfulness I feel
now is unmatched.
Galatioans 5:22-23 lists out the fruit of the Holy Spirit which are love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self control.
