Does the Usage of Internet harm Child Development?
Is the internet the safest technology in the world? Should parents have second thoughts before letting their children use the internet? These kind questions always run through my mind when someone refers about the internet, but I will explain what the internet really is about. The internet is a global communication interconnecting millions of computers. Children use the internet for various reasons, but the most significant reasons are for information, communication, entertainment and school performance. According to Thompson S.H Teo study, Internet users used the Internet mainly because they perceived the Internet to be more valuable to their job tasks and secondarily because it is enjoyable and easy to use (Omega, 27.1). The internet has many positive aspects, but it also seems to have adverse effects too. Vint Cerf, the creator of the internet predicted that this technology will affect the future and developing areas such as artificial intelligence and child development. Although the internet is the most useful technology for child development, it also has a harmful effect on social, physical and cognitive development of modern children lifestyle.
Social development refers to an alteration in the social structure of a social group or society to enhance the capacity of a society in order to finish their objective. It has a target in developing power to increase human activity. The internet can improve children and their school-based education and can be used as a tool for creativity and intellectual work in groups. Also, Gonca Karayagiz said:
āComputers have occupied increasingly central roles in children's world with the advance of technology. They have proved to be an ideal companion for children in developing and developed countries who spend most of their time at school or home with computers. As a measure of development and modernization, technology has made people's lives easier and contributed positively to social well-being so far while it has also brought about some problems and threats stemming from irresponsible use of the internetā( Karayagiz).
Creativity, intellectual work in group, school-based learning can be improved by the usage of the internet.
However, when excessively used, the internet can also take children away from their usual life work such as chores, homework, and engaging with family and friends. There are also other dangerous concern involving the usage of internet inappropriate content, such as violence, pornography and abusive language. Pornography is one of the severe impacts on child development. The erotic picture that has the intention to release sexual behavior is known as pornography. With increased internet usage, particularly new discoveries of more educative websites that are rated children-friendly, internet become an educational tool. Children are able to ensure the knowledge necessary for expansive learning. Internet presents avenues for visual learning as young children are attracted to diagrams, images as well as photos that are academically designed to empower and enhance learning. This has presented the children with an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge as they learn and develop ability to navigate and do research work at early stages (Resources in Education 76). The result of this is reflected in the academic ability of the children as they grow based on the increased capability to understand search engines needed for particular data retrievals. Such children further develop interest and become good researchers in the future as they undergo the education ladder. They become brighter as they explore the massive relevant information from the peer-reviewed articles as well as books.
Internet is a great tool for children to learn more not only for academic success, but also for self-improvement. Many educative websites allows kids to get help for their schoolwork. One example would be Mathway, a websites that solves math problems and explain the answers. Grammarly is another website that helps students to fix their grammatical errors. Internet also helps students to improve themselves in many different ways. There are many tutorial videos on YouTube that can teach kids many different skills.
Internet is an important instrument for children to gather new information. It is also positive for the foreign students as internet has enabled them to use Google Translations to understand English. Children have also benefited from diverse knowledge and skills available on the internet sources besides being positively enlightened through games played, which has led to generation and incubation of relevant ideas (Dixon, Brian, and Julie 122). The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
Ā
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesarās dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empireās birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empireās society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

The Dangers Of The Internet Essay
1. The Dangers Of The Internet Essay
In the United States, nearly 80% of teens own mobile phones, and nearly half of those are smart phones that can connect to the internet and social
media. Through the social media kids may be doing dangerous things, so parents found out a way to protect and monitor their kids from the dangers of
the internet. These monitoring tools are called spyware. Most kids don't know dangerous the internet is, because they aren't old enough yet, so moat
parents just use it for that reason. Some parents, though, overuse their power with the spyware and look at every little thing kids do which is an
invasion of privacy for most kids, and they at least to know that they are being monitored. Most kids want their privacy, but their parents need to protect
their kids from the dangers of it and they to need to use the internet responsibly. Kids need to know how dangerous the internet really is before being
exposed to it or have spyware installed on their computers, so their parents their parents can help them. One family was shocked when they saw
"online messages a predator had posted in a chat room posing as a depressed and lonely 14āyearāold girl looking for friends." (3) The example shows
how people can just have a picture of someone else and practically be them and no one will know, and this can be dangerous for the parents and kids.
Even if you think someone is real you need confirmation about it so you know for sure. Another said that he "had Googled the word 'sex' and my

The Internet
The Internet is an electronic series of virtual networks that link people and information through computers and other digital devices, allowing peer to
peer communication and information retrieval. The Internet was first developed in the late 1960's by the US government. The Internet however was not
publicly available until 1982; with the use of GUI's increasing the numbers owning computers, the Internet became widely available and commercial
interests grew. Access and use of the resource spread rapidly, the number of American users grew from 25 million in 1995 (when only 3% of people
had ever used the Internet) to 83 million in 1999, with 55 million of those going online in a...show more content...

However on the other side of the argument, many say the Internet say the Internet is pro socially when used sensibly. About twoāthirds of the Internet
users surveyed said they spent less than five hours a week online. People who have incorporated the Internet find it a useful tool in their everyday
lives with no harmful effects. Nearly 60 percent of those who email friends and family were in contact with loved ones more often than before, and
75 percent said they had seen a friend or family member the previous day. Socially active people tend to use email in particular to allow them to

3. The Internet as a Learning Tool Essay example
The Internet as a Learning Tool
The Internet has a universal appeal for most people. We (in the United States) have become dependant on it for our daily routines. We shop, send mail,
read the news, look up movie reviews, etc., using the Internet. We depend on this service, because we have told ourselves that "It" has made our lives
easier. We advocate the use of similar technologies within the classroom, because we are convinced that the use of computers and havingaccess to the
Internet is the best way to educate our children so they can have an equal chance to reach their potential and accomplish their goals.
It is true that the Internet is a great source of information. Its value as a resource is immeasurable. Unfortunately, to...show more content...
The Internet is a great research tool. I think that all students at the university level should be proficient at using it. I also know that these skills are
better learned when taught from a young age; therefore, the sooner we teach students to use the internet (as a serious resource) the faster the students
will pick it up and be able to learn to reap its benefits. The Internet is a public forum and as such, it is accessible to all kinds of people.
Teaching students to be critical of what they research on the net can help them to be more critical overall. I think that a way of teaching critical
evaluation of sites is by having the students access or build their own (class) webāsite. To implement this at the elementary, middle school and high
school level might not be easy. Most schools are hooked up to the Internet for research but availability of servers is short or nonāexistent. Servers are
required for setting up a class or student's webāsite. The possibility is interesting and worth exploring. A student or a whole class would benefit from
the experience and knowledge that would be gained by their exposure with this endeavor.
I know that the Internet is a great research and information tool. I assume that it can be utilized for educational purposes beginning in elementary
school. I imagine that the implementation of equal access and curricular use of

reader. Corresponding to the readers from the reading, they can learn an author's life, thoughts, knowledge, and experience. Reading has becoming a
way of life for people. Its importance to human impact is unprecedented. Now the 21st century is an era of the Internet. People, especially children
learn a wide range of knowledge from the Internet. Reading from the Internet and reading the book is different from two aspects: distraction and
hurting the eyes. People rely more and more on the Internet, either online or in reading. Children's needs for Internet is far exceed of adults. "For

Now we live in a great society that students are educated and had money to buy luxury. In other poor areas, "books are expensive, and many
destitute parents have not attended school themselves" (Danticat 95), so reading becomes an obstacle. People should learn contentment, especially
children have an excellent condition to go to school. Books are not just the passage of boring time, but also nutrients that people cannot forgot to
take. Nowadays students are very conflicted in reading or giving a reading assignment by the teacher. They are unwilling or inattentive, and then
they forget it in the end. "Reading was, at best, only a chore" (Rodriguez 190) leads some students read for extra credit, which is their motivation.
Reading for many people, especially student groups played a large part of the role. If people can only read without understanding the true meaning of
the book, it is useless. Students learn mainly knowledge from school textbooks, if the child only mastered the knowledge of the textbook, then the
knowledge is limited to books, failed to allow them to experience different and touch more knowledge besides of textbook. Students should read more
books outside of school, they help to accumulate vocabulary besides textbooks. Parents trust books because they are like a guardian "to keep kids

In today's society, the Internet has become one of our daily needs as a form to communicate, to research information, to do business activities, and to
socialize with others. The Internet can sometimes be harmful to humanity, but it all depends on how people use the source. The Internet can be
accessed in many forms on different mobile devices such as smartphones and computers to help bring benefits, especially for children. Modern
technology brings great benefits to children academically and personally as a form of development to help them learn much faster. Most schools are

Internet. Using the Internet helps the children discover their findings, and evidence as a huge implication causing them to think critically, logically,
and memorizing their studies when using a search engine for help like Google. This proves that children using the Internet at an early age can make
them become smarter and technology oriented at the same time. Most studies have also shown an increased in IQs' from ages four to six to void
illiteracy and better grades are produced. Most children's performance towards the internet has helped them primarily by becoming a source for
entrainment while in the learning at the same time. Children can learn easier, and have fun at the same time. However, some internet content can affect
the learning process by spending too much time on the internet. There is so much content exposed that the child can access information about explicit
information that is not used for educational purposes. Sometimes it can be very difficult to censor all vulgar material from the Internet which is filled

The Internet and Technology
Technology today has made an impact in our everyday lives. Technology offers many advances in the world. One of the areas of impact is in the field
of education. An important technological advance has been movies and videos. Some would say these have become vital teaching tools. Technology as
a whole has made way for several new conventions, some good, and some bad. While there are several advantages to using technology to enhance
education, there are also several disadvantages. Technology as it is used today can improve the knowledge a student attains. However, the disadvantages

Many different students learn in many different ways. For example some are visual learners, others are oral learners and still, others are the kind of
students who must take notes several times before they fully understand a concept. Technology gives students an interesting way to learn, it helps those
students that are visual learners, rather than verbal learners. It helps students become individual learners, offering a plethora of websites for students to
look up and learn from on their own.
On the other hand, technology can be a detriment to students. First of all, teachers put too much emphasis on the appearance of assignments, such as
the pictures and the font type and the format, rather than paying attention to the actual quality of the assignment. Students spend more time on finding
pictures, typing up their work in special fonts, and focusing on the looks of their papers, rather than focusing on the important things, such as the thesis
statements, organization and details the paper contains. "Students spend too much time creating highātech presentations that don't offer significant
improvements over traditional slide shows, oral presentations, index cards and all" (Bassett 75). This isn't teaching the student anything except that
looks are more important than content. Is that what we want to teach the next generation of students? "Teachers should not allow the glitter and power
of high technology to distract them from focusing their

into an endless resource of information and knowledge. With billions of Internet users present in the world today, the idea of living life through the

The process of education involves sharing knowledge through communication to another individual/s. The means through which education is provided
has changed tremendously in the past few years and continues change today. Through technology, education is viewed by the US Department of
Education as "no longer confined to it's campus or shaped mainly by it's own traditions, it's academic community and faculty, it's libraries and any other
source of knowledge or by any other tangible factors."(Hallak 3) Education without tangible resources is an education that is more widely available to
students. When time and distance are variables that are no longer present in obtaining information student's nation wide can receive an education. For
the first time students have more flexibility and options in making a choice as to where, when and how they receive their education.
Conversely, some may say that education has been made easy. Students and teachers are no longer are required to travel to a classroom to meet or
verbally discuss topics face to face. The communication between teachers and students has been minimized to almost nothing but reading and writing.
Although reading and writing gets the job done (as far as sending information and receiving it) there is a large gap in the communication of the
material as far as human expression is involved.

The birth of the internet created a revolution on technology, and social media in the world. It created a vast amount of change, and has put humans
onto a path that they thought they could not walk on. It has shifted modern culture and helped shape it into a unique one where the internet seems to
run the world. One big part of internet culture is the platform Web 2.0. It has helped shape many applications and has had an impact on creation, and
content presented in the web to viewers. Web 2.0 can be shown in the popular app Twitter, and it shows how the site has evolved, what concepts are
involved in it, and the future of Twitter and Web 2.0.
Early Twitter was a great example for demonstrating the concept of Web 2.0, and it involved the use of the 5 C's to help advance its application to
what it is now today. Early Twitter demonstrated two distinct traits of Web 2.0 in it's site. The first example is; that Twitter was initially a broadcasting
service that was oriented towards what the users wanted from it. It evolved the Hashtag, and the @ symbol use through this and emergent behavior
where the people made these without guidance (Pavilik, McIntosh). Another example of its relations to Web 2.0 was the fact that it was constantly
evolving and changing its content to what the users wanted from the application (O'Reilly). It also exhibited two distinct features of the 5 C's. Twitter

The Internet, including the World Wide Web (WWW), is perhaps one of the greatest inventions of our time. Without a doubt, it has had a profound
effect on almost every aspect of our lives. The formation and implementation of the Internet has changed the way we do business, communicate,

hated having to drive to a book store to acquire my summer reading books. I once spent a whole day searching for one book at several different
book stores all over town and the town next to mine; only to find out that almost every kid in my grade, and at every school in the surrounding

different types of people out there, those who are suspicious and those that just don't seem to care about who read their stuff. This is problematic in

personal details about my life online, however, I can see how those people use the Internet as a sounding board, like a therapist of sorts, or a place to
