2.  Since June 2014, Kristin Gaspar has served as the mayor of
Encinitas, California. As the city’s first elected mayor, Kristin
Gaspar works closely with the city council to execute a
comprehensive legislative program.
The City of Encinitas prioritizes five key legislative areas:
coastal protection and enhancement, public safety and public
health, infrastructure investment expansion, environmentally
sustainable cities, and local control of land-use decision
making. Encinitas participates in the League of California
Cities, a government relations firm contracted to keep local
governments informed on legislation in the California State
Legislature and the United States Congress.

3.  Together with municipalities across California,
the City of Encinitas looks to ensure
continued funding for community services and
fully reimburse cities for all mandates from
the state and federal levels. In addition to
supporting diverse housing opportunities
throughout local communities, the City of
Encinitas prioritizes the enhancement of
federal funding programs such as Community
Development Block Grants.
