IBM's blue brain technology is the ongoing research work which is being carried out for nearly three decades now. It is the super gene computer that can keep the person's memory intact.
3. INTRODUCTION
➢Could a simulated brain start to think, feel
and experience the world as if it were an
organic,human brain?
➢Technology is growing faster than everything.
If possible,IBM’s”BLUE BRAIN” a virtual brain
that can think, respond, take decision & keep
anything in memory, would be the first virtual
brain of the world
➢The goal is to reverse engineer a brain into a
computer
4. The Blue Brain Project is an attempt to reverse
engineer the human brain and recreate it at the
cellular level inside a computer simulation. The
project was founded in May 2005 by Henry
Markram at the EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Goals of the project are to gain a complete
understanding of the brain and to enable better
and faster development of brain disease
treatments
5. The data is collected from different
neuron types and the simulation among
them is carried out on a blue gene super
computer.
6. Why Blue Brain?
•To upload contents of the natural
brain into it
•To Keep the intelligence
knowledge and skills of any person
forever.
•To remember things forever
without any effort
7. Objectives of
Blue Brain Project
•The project will search for insights into how human
beings think and remember.
•Scientists think that blue brain could also help to
cure Parkinson’s disease.
•The brain circuitry is in a complex state of flux, the
brain rewiring itself every moment of its existence. If
the scientists can crack open the secret of how and
why the brain does it, the knowledge could lead to
new breed of supercomputers.

9. COMPARATIVE DISCUSSION OF
NATURAL BRAIN AND SIMULATED BRAIN
NATURAL BRAIN
1. INPUT through
Neurons.
2.INTERPRETATION can
be done by means of
various states in brain by
many neurons.
SIMULATED BRAIN
1.INPUT through
Artificial neurons
made of silicon chips.
2.INTERPRETATION can
be accomplished by
artificial neurons in the
set of registers.
10. COMPARATIVE DISCUSSION OF
NATURAL BRAIN AND SIMULATED BRAIN
3. OUTPUT is recieved by
sensory cells from
neurons.
4.MEMORY is stored in
certain states
permanantly by
neurons.
5.PROCESSING is done by
neural circuitary
3.OUTPUT is recieved by
sensory cells from
artificial neurons.
4.MEMORY is stored in
the similar way but in
registers by silicon
chips.
5.PROCESSING is done by
computers
11. Simulation of Virtual
Brain
•The simulation is possible by the use of small
robots known as NANOBOTS.
•These robots are small enough to travel
throughout our circulatory system.
•They will monitor the activity of brain by
travelling into the spinal brain and brain.
•They will provide an interface with
computer.
12. Benefits of Blue Brain
•It acts as a supercomputer.
•Improvements in processing,speed and
memory could make entire human brain
simulated
•Things could be remembered without any
effort.
•Use the intelligence of the person after death
•It can make decisions entirely of its own
•Allowing the deaf person to hear via direct
nerve simulation
13. Disadvantages of
Blue Brain
•We become dependent upon the computers.
•Another fear is found with respect to human
cloning.
•A very costly procedure of regaining the
memory back.
14. Conclusion
•Will be able to transfer ourselves into the computer
at some point
•Eventually aim of applying terrific computer power
to the simulation of an entire brain
•Very soon this technology will be highly accepted
whole over the world
