Sreemathy
The Best Online Clinical Dietitian and
Wellness Nutritionist in India
It is time to extend the adage “Food
for thought” to “Food for Healing”
as across many cultures and
civilizations food has not only been a
source of sustenance but a source of
nourishment, prevention and Healing.
In the Indian system of Ayurvedic
medicine, food and digestion form the
basis of healing. The modern science also
reiterates that food can be a cause for
certain diseases, while healthy eating can
be preventive.
In fact, the best Clinical Dietitian and
Wellness Nutritionist in India, Ms.
Sreemathy Venkatraman’s vast
experience in the field of nutrition and
therapeutic dietetics has taught her to
address the root cause of any illness
including chronic diseases, by providing
solutions through Food and Nutrition.
Because “I believe Food is the First
Medicine,” she says.
Ms. Sreemathy majored in science, with
Home Science in senior high school. This
sparked her interest in nutrition and food
science. After graduating in Nutrition and
Clinical Dietetics, she specialized in
hospital dietetics with an internship at the
reputed CMC, Vellore Hospital.
She also did a Masters’s specialization in “Diet in Health
& Disease” in the USA. She says, “My Passion is to help
patients and clients with their wellness goals and manage
their chronic condition effectively with food so they can
lead a quality life.”
This passion has inspired her to establish Mitha Aahara-
Eat to Live, a leading online and offline Nutrition
Consultancy company which is turning three in Aug 2023.
The USP of this nutrition-based company is “Healing with
Food.” The Tag line Eat to Live says it all --- that the
Right food can be a nourishment to physical and Mental
Health.
At Mitha Aahara, Sreemathy believes in nutritional therapy
for various wellness and preventive health conditions and
also for chronic diseases like diabetes, obesity, Gut health
issues like Gastritis, Irritable bowel Syndrome, Irritable
Bowel diseases like Chron’s and Ulcerative colitis.
She informs, “Our specialty is to find the root cause of the
problem and ensure that personalized meal plans are given
based on the food habits and likes and dislikes of the
individual. We have many success stories to our credit -for
example we have prevented surgery for a chronic gastritis
case, weaned off medicines for a chronic diabetic
neuropathy patient on long-term painkillers, helped a young
couple lose weight in our couple’s fertility program and
also some cases of weight gain in eating disorders to name
a few. She also recalls a case with Endometriosis who had
significant relief with gut health issues as this condition also
affects the gut in some cases. Many suffer from this
condition with symptoms like severe pelvic pain, fatigue,
infertility.
She adds that everyone is aware that ‘Food and Mood’ are
closely connected. “We are what we eat, digest and absorb
effectively. Hence healthy Food not only gives us good
physical health but also prevents chronic mental conditions
like depression, mood disorders, Dementia, and
Alzheimer’s in the long run.”
For A Lifetime of Optimal Health
From the start of the fetus's growth in the womb and the
baby’s growing years, the Right Food will ensure optimal
health throughout his/her life by providing immunity,
preventing non-communicable diseases like diabetes,
obesity, and high blood pressure and helping in a sound
mind with great focus, memory and intelligence. It is vital
to breastfeed the baby at least till 6 months of age.
Gut Health is closely connected to the occurrence of many
diseases in the body. “Hence it is important to keep our
digestive health in order.” Post-COVID, many of us believe
in the importance of food in prevention and healing
naturally and avoiding medicines where possible.
People are ready to spend their hard-earned money on the
right healthy foods, engage in more traditional practices
like fasting, fermenting and consuming indigenous local
seasonal foods. “We cater to many individuals from varied
backgrounds who are used to different food habits and
cuisines. Our specialty is to listen to the routine, logistics in
food preparation, cravings, the health goals they are striving
for and design personalized nutritional therapy which can
be followed for life and not for short term effect,” says Ms.
Sreemathy.
PCOD occurs in one in five women in India and is a
multifaceted condition with infertility, excessive hair
growth in the face, upper and lower limbs and obesity or
increase in fat mass. Many of the patients under her
nutritional therapy have had successful weight loss and
restart of the regular menstrual cycle without medications
Eat Well to Feel Well
Ms. Sreemathy reiterates that food plays a major role in
healing and that they have clients in more than six countries
and many parts of India who have had a great
transformation in both physical and mental health.
A personalized Eat Right Plan with weekly monitoring
and regular motivation is the right way for sustainable
weight loss rather than yo-yo dieting. She adds, “We share
recipes, exercise tips, and also help in their food selection
which form their daily healthy eating habits. If the
individual is a frequent traveler or a person who enjoys
eating out with family, we also counsel them regarding
choices in different cuisines and the foods that they need to
avoid to prevent flare-ups. This also ensures that there is no
guesswork when it comes to what is right for their body.
While counseling regarding healthy food habits in teenagers
and young adults addressing cravings, understanding their
viewpoint, the problems that they go through, and the
relationship they have with their food is important and the
team at Mitha Aahara have helped many teenagers and
young adults with their eating disorders Ms. Sreemathy has
specialized in Food & Mental Health from the University of
Canterbury, NZ
“We also understand how sensitive gut issues, food
intolerance and food allergies have compromised the
quality of life for many individuals who are apprehensive
about their travel and social engagements like weddings and
family gatherings.”
“We have had tremendous success in resolving chronic gut
health issues and have made the individuals understand
their body better, its triggers for their flare-ups because of
the sensitive gut and how to overcome them by monitoring
their symptoms like bloating, gas and constipation or
diarrhea issues if they eat a sensitive food.” They are also
made to understand in what form they would be able to
tolerate the same food.
A Curative Leadership
In her 23 years of experience in nutrition and therapeutic
dietetics, Ms. Sreemathy has worked in many corporate
hospitals with eminent doctors and is a great communicator
who understands and speaks several languages. She
connects with them at their level, whether it is a child,
adult, or senior person, and listens to them patiently
regarding their food habits, cravings, likes and dislikes, as
Food is something very personal and comforting.
Sreemathy has worked with specialties of gastroenterology,
hepatology and liver transplant teams, as also Neurosurgery
and neurology teams. She is one of the few Neuro
Nutritionists in India who deals with many
neurodegenerative diseases like multiple sclerosis and also
other chronic neuro conditions like Parkinsons.
Sreemathy is a certified bariatric nutritionist who guides
patients in pre and post-bariatric surgery nutrition. She is
also a certified nutritionist in critical care who is specialized
in tube feeding in complicated cases in ICUs for road traffic
accidents, stroke, and many other conditions where the
patients cannot take food orally.
She serves on the National Executive Board of IAPEN
INDIA, a specialized nutrition organization (PEN).
Sreemathy has been a visiting lecturer for colleges to teach
nutrition to nursing students and volunteers for various
community Nutrition programs to prevent malnutrition and
non-communicable diseases in the community. She has
published several books on Nutrition for international
publishing Companies like Reed Elsevier.
She has specialized in Diet in Health and Disease in the
USA and has published Nutrition booklets on Neuro
Nutrition and recipes for Bariatric surgery patients.
Sreemathy still believes that updating oneself in nutrition is
vital and enrolls in specialized courses online to keep
herself on the cutting edge in the ever-changing field of
clinical nutrition and dietetics.
She is also a dysphagia nutritionist (difficulty in
swallowing). She has devised several modified texture diets
and serves as a chief program officer for the dysphagia core
group and coordinates with other disciplines to effectively
manage this hidden disability
Ethical Practice
Mitha Aahara does not make false promises. It understands
the client by addressing their concerns. It sets goals clearly,
motivates and periodically monitors, and gives a
personalized plan based on clients’ logistics.
If it is a clinical condition, the doctor’s notes, reports,
diagnostic tests, and medications are thoroughly reviewed,
and specialized therapeutic diets are recommended.
The company has several clients in India and abroad.
Sreemathy also counsels them based on local specialty
foods, travel, and how to meal prep and customize their
food plans.
Sharing her experience, Ms. Sreemathy says she speaks
several languages and designs therapeutic food plans which
her clients will be happy to follow. She says, “I make them
understand their body and do not make any false promises
on reversal or cure.” It is a nutritional therapy, and foods,
traditional recipes, infusions, daily kitchen spices and herbs
are used to heal with the right nutrition.
Also highlighting about the nutritional therapy solutions she
provides to her clients, Ms. Sreemathy says that hers are
sustainable plans to follow and not any short-term benefits
that should be shown and no shortcuts. “As we explain that
the body adapts and heals, and food can harm or heal
based on the ingredients and the way it is cooked, many are
eager to change to healthy eating habits that do not
compromise on taste.
Diagnosing Challenges
In her company’s journey, Ms. Sreemathy faced various
obstacles right from the start. The initial challenges post-
COVID were venturing online and managing their time as
some people weren’t punctual or missed appointments
without prior notice and expected short-term results.
Sreemathy says, “We are a team of 14, and we have learnt
and grown together to effectively cater to the client’s
expectations.” People are more comfortable online now and
even if they live in the same city, many prefer to connect
virtually.
The current challenge is that many clients watch too many
online influencers on various social media platforms and
assume or come to a conclusion about their own condition
or try fad diets or quick fixes which does more harm than
good.
To overcome these challenges, Ms. Sreemathy has made her
online portal customer-friendly, where clients can make a
pre-consultation appointment at their convenience to
discuss their specific symptoms and condition and if and
how nutritional therapy will help them.
Techno-Aid
Being an experienced leader, sharing her opinion on how
technology is transforming the nutritional and dietary sector
and how Mitha Aahara is embracing the change, Ms.
Sreemathy says that technology has helped them
tremendously as any individual anywhere in the world can
meet them online and also communicate effectively and
share reports, food logs and food pics for effective
monitoring.
The Vital Aspect
When probed about how crucial are nutritional and dietary
solutions in today’s health-conscious times and what
innovation and advancements she is bringing to the sector,
Sreemathy says, ‘Food plays a major role - if not the sole
factor - that will make a person healthy or put them at risk
for occurrence of chronic diseases. People are very health
conscious and rightly so. They understand that food plays a
vital role in their skin, hair, looks and the healthy
functioning of the body and mind.’
Words for the Wise
In her advice to the aspirants willing to venture into her
field, Ms. Sreemathy says that continuous enhancement of
one’s knowledge, understanding clients or patients
viewpoint, various cuisines and new food products that
come to the market, being aware of ethical practice
standards, and effective communication is vital to make a
mark in this field.
For Your Healthiest Future
On envisioning scaling Mitha Aahara’s scope and plans for
the future, Sreemathy divulges that she would like to
formulate therapeutic food products for gut health issues, as
sound digestion is the key to optimal health. “I would also
like to design textured food products for patients with
swallowing difficulty,” she concludes.

foundation in the field by completing my Master's in
Dietetics and Food Service Management from IGNOU,
Diploma in Clinical Nutrition from Apollo Medvarsity and
Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Health Coaching
from IIN USA.
I am a keen follower of nutrition and natural food and have
completed my Certification in Ayurveda Nutrition from
Trans-disciplinary University, and Certification in
Functional Nutrition from iThrive Academy. I am
passionate and strong-willed to change people’s mindset
about health and am inspired by nature and its ability to
magically transform us by correcting our eating habits
What motivated you to enter the healthcare sector as a
nutritionist and dietary solutions provider? Was there a
personal experience that drove you to focus on scientific
and sustainable health approaches?
The biggest inspiration to work hard towards Nutritional
Health came from my own life story and unsuccessful
attempts in losing weight purely due to incorrect,
unscientific and harmful methods which were the root cause
of various health issues.
When I realized that I wasn’t the only one affected by these
tall claims and false promises of various ‘health and diet
chains’, I decided to take matters into my own hand, study
the body and the miraculous effects of loving and accepting
healthy, nutritional food for a happy and healthy life. When
I saw the change in me, I decided it was time to build a
strong foundation that can then help a larger audience and
help them transform their lives as well.
What sets Nutrify with Nidhi Nigam apart as a
prominent player in the nutritional and dietary
industry?
The biggest standout is to work with readily available foods
in your kitchen which are your age-old, traditional
ingredients that have been respected and have worked for
generations together and not create a fuss and fear about
superfood fads, mono diets, or restrictive diets.
Most importantly, I strongly voice my opinion against pills,
powders and various shakes under the name of
‘detox/weight loss miracles.’ These are strict NO-NO for
me and I ensure my clients learn to understand nutrition,
sustainable health and well-being from everyday produce
and ingredients.
www.ciolookindia.com October | 2023
(22)
Could you highlight the advantages of the nutritional
and dietary products you offer to your clients?
The most critical benefit is that I do not provide artificial
products and pills in the name of supplements. I engage
with my clients to understand their nutritional needs and
voice out the innate capacity that the human body has to
heal itself when nourished with the right foods.
What were the initial and ongoing challenges you faced
in the nutritional and dietary solutions field, and how do
you tackle these challenges to achieve greater success?
Challenges that have always been and will remain is the
fear of food in general that the market, food industry and
‘quacks’ so to speak have created. This could include
statements like ban carbs, ban fats, fad diets and quick
weight loss hacks.
The only way to overcome these challenges is to constantly
create awareness of balanced nutrition, the benefits of
everyday food and a healthy and holistic physical and
mental lifestyle.
Being an experienced leader, share with us your opinion
on how technology is transforming the Healthcare sector
and how is your company embracing the change.
Technology today plays a huge role in just about every
aspect of lifestyle or business. The pandemic was primarily
responsible for this disruption at a pace faster than one
could imagine.
In our field, technology is an enabler to upgrade yourself on
the latest happenings in the industry, equip yourself with
more knowledge and most importantly, reach out to a global
audience and help them in their journey for good health.
What would be your advice to the aspirants who are
willing to venture into the field?
My biggest advice is to be true to yourself, gather as much
valid research and knowledge; not depend on a one-size-
fits-all formula. In any field, it is only honesty, passion, the
willingness to make a difference and the drive to give it
your 100% that will take you to the next level. And of
course, never forget your roots or where you have come
from; a little compassion can take you a long way!
How do you envision scaling the company’s offerings in
the future?
The idea is to work towards building a holistic health
company–one that gives importance to nutritional
consulting, lifestyle changes in terms of workouts and fresh
nutritious food boxes for young professionals with no
access to cooking them. These are ideas and we are in the
process of thinking about its scalability and logistics but the
vision is very clear–to be a holistic health management
platform.
My biggest advice is
to be true to yourself,
gather as much valid
research and knowledge;
not depend on a
formula.

ensuring that the country’s youth are future-fit, armed with
the knowledge and practices to lead healthy lives.
The Challenges Ahead
Changing Dietary Patterns: One of the most significant
challenges faced by nutritionists and dietitians is the
shifting dietary patterns in India. With rapid urbanization,
busy lifestyles, and increased exposure to Western fast food,
the traditional Indian diet is being replaced by high-calorie,
low-nutrient alternatives. This change in dietary habits has
contributed to rising rates of obesity, diabetes, and heart
disease among the younger population.
Lack of Nutritional Education: Nutritional education is a
key component of fostering a health-conscious society, but
it remains a challenge in India. Many schools and colleges
lack comprehensive nutrition education in their curriculum,
leaving students ill-equipped to make informed dietary
choices. This knowledge gap is a significant barrier to
creating a health-conscious next generation.
Malnutrition and Micronutrient Deficiencies: While
lifestyle diseases are on the rise, India continues to grapple
with malnutrition, especially among children. Micronutrient
deficiencies, such as iron, vitamin A, and iodine, pose a
significant threat to the health and development of the
younger generation. Nutritionists must address these
pressing issues and develop strategies to combat them
effectively.
Information Overload: In the internet age, individuals can
access an overwhelming amount of nutrition information.
This information is not always accurate or evidence-based,
leading to confusion and misinformation. Nutritionists must
help individuals sift through this sea of data, providing
reliable, science-backed advice while dispelling myths and
fads.
Socioeconomic Disparities: Socioeconomic disparities
play a pivotal role in determining the nutritional habits of
the younger generation. While some urban areas have
access to a wide range of nutritious food options, rural and
economically disadvantaged regions often face food

insecurity and limited access to healthy choices. Nutrition-
ists must find ways to bridge these disparities and ensure
that all segments of society have access to the knowledge
and resources needed to make health-conscious decisions.
The Influence of Marketing: The marketing of unhealthy
foods and beverages, especially towards children, is a
significant challenge. Advertising for sugary, high-fat, and
low-nutrient products often targets young consumers,
leading to unhealthy consumption habits. Nutritionists must
counter these powerful marketing strategies with effective
nutritional education and awareness campaigns.
Cultural Influences: Cultural factors also impact dietary
choices in India. Traditional beliefs and practices related to
food can be both positive and negative influences on
nutrition. Nutritionists must navigate these cultural nuances
to encourage healthier eating habits while respecting
cultural diversity.
Lack of Integration into Healthcare: Nutritionists and
dietitians often work in isolation from the broader
healthcare system. Integrating nutrition services into the
healthcare infrastructure and primary care settings is
essential to reach a wider audience and provide early
intervention and preventive measures.
The Opportunities Ahead
Despite the challenges, there are abundant opportunities
for Indian nutritionists and dietitians to lead the charge
towards fostering a future generation that prioritizes health
and well-being.
Personalized Nutrition: One of the most promising
opportunities for nutritionists and dietitians in India is
adopting personalized nutrition. Advances in technology
and access to genetic and health data allow these profes-
sionals to create individualized meal plans and recommen-
dations tailored to a person’s unique needs, preferences, and
health status. This level of personalization can have a
profound impact on the adoption and maintenance of
healthier eating habits.
E-Learning and Nutrition Apps: The rise of e-learning
platforms and nutrition apps provides an excellent opportu-
nity for nutritionists to reach a broader audience. These
platforms enable nutritionists to disseminate evidence-
based nutrition education and guidance to individuals in
diverse locations. Nutrition apps can be accessible tools for
tracking dietary choices and receiving personalized
recommendations.
Community Engagement: Nutritionists can influence
communities by engaging with them to create awareness
and facilitate healthier eating habits. Initiatives in schools,
local communities, and workplaces can effectively build a
health-conscious society. These community programs can
focus on nutrition education, cooking demonstrations, and
awareness campaigns.
Research and Innovation: Research and innovation in the
field of nutrition offer substantial opportunities for
nutritionists. Collaboration with food scientists and
technologists can lead to the development of healthier food
alternatives and the enhancement of the nutritional content
of commonly consumed foods. Innovations in food
production and preparation can have a significant impact on
public health.
Promoting Responsible Marketing: Nutritionists can
advocate for responsible marketing practices, especially
when promoting food and beverages to children. Collabora-
tion with policymakers and public health organizations can
raise awareness about the impact of marketing on dietary
choices and the importance of limiting the promotion of
unhealthy products.
Government and Policy Support: Policymakers are
pivotal in promoting health-conscious eating habits.
Nutritionists can actively engage with government agencies
to shape policies related to school nutrition, food labelling,
and regulations restricting the marketing of unhealthy foods
to children. Advocating for policy changes that encourage
the availability of healthy food options is essential in
creating a health-conscious environment.
Encouraging Responsible Food Industry Practices: The
food industry, as a significant player in shaping dietary
habits, can be influenced by nutritionists to adopt responsi-
ble practices. Stimulating the production of healthier food
options, reducing the use of harmful additives, and
transparently labelling products are areas where nutrition-
ists can collaborate with the food industry to drive positive
change.
Research and Public Health Initiatives: Nutritionists can
actively contribute to research and public health initiatives.
Their work can inform policies and practices that have a
direct impact on the dietary choices of individuals. By
producing evidence-based research, nutritionists can
become influential voices in nutrition.

The Best Nutri onists and Die ans in India
You are what you eat.” Food, one of the essential
aspects of living a life, shapes our personality and
lifestyle. For several years, for different reasons,
food culture saw vibrancy in colours and tastes, both good
and bad.
However, as life advanced, lifestyles and diet fashions
changed. The change seemed sparkling, yet the results were
alarming. With disturbed lifestyles and diets, people started
experiences impacting their lives. A diva that came to the
rescue was The Diet Hub by Sayantani, with the thought,
"Diet and lifestyle changes are a holistic approach."
It is a 5-star rated e-business in India in Google for diet and
nutrition wherein the diets are free from any supplements,
artificial enhancers or metabolic boosters. Members achieve
the results by following these excellent diet plans based on
home-cooked foods and natural ingredients.
Nutritionist Sayantani Mohinta has done her Master's in
food and nutrition. She has 18 years of rich experience in
food and nutrition and provides counselling services for a
healthy lifestyle. She has specific expertise in metabolic
diets, effectively improving a member's overall health in the
long run. Her focus is, therefore, not on immediate results
but on long-term tangible health benefits. She is a leading
and well-recognized nutritionist in Mumbai, providing
online diet counselling services.
A blog written by editor Nikhil Malve for Mumbai
Coworking on 14th Dec 2021 mentions Sayantani Mohinta
as the 11th best nutritionist in Mumbai who specialises in
keeping the belly and body happy. She has also given talks
at various forums and has made impactful presentations in
Ladies' clubs or NGOs regarding women's health and
dietary habits.
In an exclusive interview with CIOLook India, Sayantani,
the Founder of The Diet Hub has elaborated on her
journey.
Ma'am, please describe your company in detail.
The Diet Hub by Sayantani is an e-clinic that provides an
online support system for healthy customized Indian diets
for people looking forward to one-to-one consultation via
the website thediethub.zest.md.
It's unlike other health apps wherein all the customers are
given tailor-made or customized diet charts based on their
health requirements. A metabolic diet with no starvation
and crash diets is provided, which is sustainable for life.
The diet is planned for one week, catering to the
individual's health requirements and food habits.
The enrolment process is made simple by creating an
account on the website to fill up all medical, food and
biometric details. Then, a discussion over a phone call is
carried out to understand the member's requirements. Blood
test reports are recommended to members in case of any
health issues. Once a member selects a specific service, i.e.
depending on their requirement, the diet chart is uploaded
to the member's account. Through telephonic discussions,
emails and messages, constant monitoring is done by
Nutritionist Sayantani. The results are recorded post-
completion of each week, and depending on the results, the
way forward is planned for the remaining weeks.
The objective is to provide assured success and health
benefits through easy-to-follow diets. The diets are also
supplemented by proper guidance related to lifestyle
management, like exercises, yoga, etc. Since it is
completely online or through via media like

phone/WhatsApp, my e-clinic can be reached PAN India
and globally. The website has successfully catered to the
health requirements for various lifestyle disorders apart
from weight loss. Diet for Diabetes, High cholesterol, Piles,
Hypothyroidism, and PCOS are the services mostly availed
by the members. Pre and post-pregnancy nourishment or
weight loss diets are also some specialized services
provided through the e-clinic.
What inspired you to enter the healthcare sector as a
Nutritional and Dietary solutions provider?
Food and nutrition has been my passion, and I was inclined
towards making a social impact and bringing awareness
through a balance of food and lifestyle habits. Western food
habits and crash diets are easily available everywhere on
any social media or advertisement. Nowadays, people can
make their diet charts via Google and many apps. However,
I have noticed that these diets are short-lived and further
lead to many deficiencies in the long term.
These trending diets may show results faster than metabolic
diets but have a deep-rooted effect on the body's
metabolism. In this tech era, people treat their bodies like
machines and want quick results in weeks or months with
various combinations of diets. I aim to make people realize
that diet is not magic and does not work wonders
immediately. The diet provided must be customized for an
individual's metabolic activity and suited to their body
requirements. Dieting also does not mean you should starve
and deprive yourself of food.
I get inspired when my members achieve their intended
health objectives like lowering blood glucose and high
cholesterol, improving piles condition, etc., along with
weight loss and thereby start feeling healthier and happier.
I derive confidence from my work when I hear about my
member's success stories through honest testimonials and
how they have benefited from my customized diet plans.
What USPs make you stand out as a leading Nutritional
and Dietary solutions provider?
To chalk out easy to adhere to Indian diets for my members
to help them achieve their desired health objectives. The
diets are based on Indian foods, which makes it sustainable
for the members to follow even after completing the
enrolled program. My e-clinic and website are prominently
visible in Google searches, making it easier for people to
approach me from anywhere. Since it's online through one-
to-one telephonic consultations, it is easy for the working
masses to follow and get counselling sessions at their
convenience. My repeat members rate is high. Members
have returned to me after trying various diet options
elsewhere. Word of mouth and referrals have been my other

platform, it also kept the momentum going during the
lockdown phase. There are many members from outside
India as well enrolled in. In the future, the company aims to
leverage the power of social media and member referrals to
reach out to more people globally and increase awareness
about the benefits of Indian foods for bringing out lifestyle-
related changes. My e-clinic is also working on leveraging
advanced analytics for in-depth analysis of members'
metabolic parameters, thereby aiding in chalking out
specific diet plans specifically in case of members
diagnosed with multiple lifestyle disorders.
What would be your advice to aspirants willing to
venture into your field?
I want Nutritionists to make people aware of healthy diets
with sustainable health benefits. Being a Nutritionist is not
only about taking up a commercial profession. We also have
a social commitment towards positively impacting people's
health and lifestyle. Do not convince people to follow a
crash diet pattern that may provide short-term benefits but
eventually spoil their complete body metabolism in the long
run.
How do you envision scaling the company's scope and
offerings?
I want to focus on imparting online customized diets and
reaching out globally for health-related counselling. My
objective is to make people feel confident about the right
food and nutrition for their bodies. The Diet Hub by
Sayantani is available for everyone who wants to achieve
optimum health goals for a lifetime.
I am looking forward to more interactions on the social
media platform and various discussion forums. Social
media platforms viz. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc., are
the places to locate it for health-related tips and counselling
sessions.
USP, as members have approached me after receiving
positive reviews from their friends and family. I have not
ventured yet into formal large-scale marketing for my
website.
What were the initial challenges after venturing into the
Nutritional and Dietary solutions field, and what are the
challenges now?
The initial challenge was to make people understand the
difference between dieting and good food habits. Earlier
people considered diets only for weight loss. Nowadays,
people are more health conscious and demanding, wanting
diets tailored to their specific health requirements. The
challenge I face now is that most people have already
followed some or the other diet plans, either on their own
by doing Google research or through crash dieting. I also
get members who have followed plans through app-based
services without tangible long-term health benefits. These
self-researched or app services have created a negative
effect on their health. It has slowed the body's metabolism
and resulted in nutritional deficiencies.
Many members have complained of poor hair and skin
quality, fatigue and acidity issues resulting from the crash
and unhealthy diet regimes they have followed earlier. The
challenge for me is to do an in-depth analysis of their body
metabolism and history. I strive to keep their lifestyle and
health on track with my customized diet plans. The current
challenges include Rebooting their metabolism, improving
overall health, and addressing the targeted health issues.
Being an experienced leader, share your opinion on how
technology is transforming the Nutritional and Dietary
sector and what advancements we can expect in the
future.
Six years ago, when I started my e-clinic, people were not
tech-friendly. They were also sceptical about online
consultations; most preferred face-to-face or clinic-based
consultations. Over the years and more so after the
lockdown, people have realized that it is not the medium of
diet consultation that makes the difference but the efforts
put in by your nutritionist, be it offline or online. My
approach has been to leverage technology to make it
simpler for my members to reach out to me at their
convenience and availability.
Members have accepted that customized diet and nutrition
plans can bring out the intended health benefits when
imparted through an online platform. Being an online

  • 10. Sreemathy The Best Online Clinical Dietitian and Wellness Nutritionist in India It is time to extend the adage “Food for thought” to “Food for Healing” as across many cultures and civilizations food has not only been a source of sustenance but a source of nourishment, prevention and Healing. In the Indian system of Ayurvedic medicine, food and digestion form the basis of healing. The modern science also reiterates that food can be a cause for certain diseases, while healthy eating can be preventive. In fact, the best Clinical Dietitian and Wellness Nutritionist in India, Ms. Sreemathy Venkatraman’s vast experience in the field of nutrition and therapeutic dietetics has taught her to address the root cause of any illness including chronic diseases, by providing solutions through Food and Nutrition. Because “I believe Food is the First Medicine,” she says. Ms. Sreemathy majored in science, with Home Science in senior high school. This sparked her interest in nutrition and food science. After graduating in Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics, she specialized in hospital dietetics with an internship at the reputed CMC, Vellore Hospital.
  • 11.
  • 12. She also did a Masters’s specialization in “Diet in Health & Disease” in the USA. She says, “My Passion is to help patients and clients with their wellness goals and manage their chronic condition effectively with food so they can lead a quality life.” This passion has inspired her to establish Mitha Aahara- Eat to Live, a leading online and offline Nutrition Consultancy company which is turning three in Aug 2023. The USP of this nutrition-based company is “Healing with Food.” The Tag line Eat to Live says it all --- that the Right food can be a nourishment to physical and Mental Health. At Mitha Aahara, Sreemathy believes in nutritional therapy for various wellness and preventive health conditions and also for chronic diseases like diabetes, obesity, Gut health issues like Gastritis, Irritable bowel Syndrome, Irritable Bowel diseases like Chron’s and Ulcerative colitis. She informs, “Our specialty is to find the root cause of the problem and ensure that personalized meal plans are given based on the food habits and likes and dislikes of the individual. We have many success stories to our credit -for example we have prevented surgery for a chronic gastritis case, weaned off medicines for a chronic diabetic neuropathy patient on long-term painkillers, helped a young couple lose weight in our couple’s fertility program and also some cases of weight gain in eating disorders to name a few. She also recalls a case with Endometriosis who had significant relief with gut health issues as this condition also affects the gut in some cases. Many suffer from this condition with symptoms like severe pelvic pain, fatigue, infertility. She adds that everyone is aware that ‘Food and Mood’ are closely connected. “We are what we eat, digest and absorb effectively. Hence healthy Food not only gives us good physical health but also prevents chronic mental conditions like depression, mood disorders, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s in the long run.” For A Lifetime of Optimal Health From the start of the fetus's growth in the womb and the baby’s growing years, the Right Food will ensure optimal health throughout his/her life by providing immunity, preventing non-communicable diseases like diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure and helping in a sound mind with great focus, memory and intelligence. It is vital to breastfeed the baby at least till 6 months of age. Gut Health is closely connected to the occurrence of many diseases in the body. “Hence it is important to keep our digestive health in order.” Post-COVID, many of us believe in the importance of food in prevention and healing naturally and avoiding medicines where possible. People are ready to spend their hard-earned money on the right healthy foods, engage in more traditional practices like fasting, fermenting and consuming indigenous local seasonal foods. “We cater to many individuals from varied backgrounds who are used to different food habits and cuisines. Our specialty is to listen to the routine, logistics in food preparation, cravings, the health goals they are striving for and design personalized nutritional therapy which can be followed for life and not for short term effect,” says Ms. Sreemathy. PCOD occurs in one in five women in India and is a multifaceted condition with infertility, excessive hair growth in the face, upper and lower limbs and obesity or increase in fat mass. Many of the patients under her nutritional therapy have had successful weight loss and restart of the regular menstrual cycle without medications Eat Well to Feel Well Ms. Sreemathy reiterates that food plays a major role in healing and that they have clients in more than six countries and many parts of India who have had a great transformation in both physical and mental health. A personalized Eat Right Plan with weekly monitoring and regular motivation is the right way for sustainable weight loss rather than yo-yo dieting. She adds, “We share recipes, exercise tips, and also help in their food selection which form their daily healthy eating habits. If the individual is a frequent traveler or a person who enjoys

This also ensures that there is no guesswork when it comes to what is right for their body. While counseling regarding healthy food habits in teenagers and young adults addressing cravings, understanding their viewpoint, the problems that they go through, and the relationship they have with their food is important and the team at Mitha Aahara have helped many teenagers and young adults with their eating disorders Ms. Sreemathy has specialized in Food & Mental Health from the University of Canterbury, NZ “We also understand how sensitive gut issues, food intolerance and food allergies have compromised the quality of life for many individuals who are apprehensive about their travel and social engagements like weddings and family gatherings.” “We have had tremendous success in resolving chronic gut health issues and have made the individuals understand their body better, its triggers for their flare-ups because of the sensitive gut and how to overcome them by monitoring their symptoms like bloating, gas and constipation or diarrhea issues if they eat a sensitive food.” They are also made to understand in what form they would be able to tolerate the same food. A Curative Leadership In her 23 years of experience in nutrition and therapeutic dietetics, Ms. Sreemathy has worked in many corporate hospitals with eminent doctors and is a great communicator who understands and speaks several languages. She connects with them at their level, whether it is a child, adult, or senior person, and listens to them patiently regarding their food habits, cravings, likes and dislikes, as Food is something very personal and comforting. Sreemathy has worked with specialties of gastroenterology, hepatology and liver transplant teams, as also Neurosurgery and neurology teams. She is one of the few Neuro Nutritionists in India who deals with many neurodegenerative diseases like multiple sclerosis and also other chronic neuro conditions like Parkinsons. Sreemathy is a certified bariatric nutritionist who guides patients in pre and post-bariatric surgery nutrition. She is also a certified nutritionist in critical care who is specialized in tube feeding in complicated cases in ICUs for road traffic accidents, stroke, and many other conditions where the patients cannot take food orally. She serves on the National Executive Board of IAPEN INDIA, a specialized nutrition organization (PEN). Sreemathy has been a visiting lecturer for colleges to teach nutrition to nursing students and volunteers for various community Nutrition programs to prevent malnutrition and non-communicable diseases in the community. She has published several books on Nutrition for international publishing Companies like Reed Elsevier. She has specialized in Diet in Health and Disease in the USA and has published Nutrition booklets on Neuro Nutrition and recipes for Bariatric surgery patients. She is also a dysphagia nutritionist (difficulty in swallowing). She has devised several modified texture diets and serves as a chief program officer for the dysphagia core group and coordinates with other disciplines to effectively manage this hidden disability Ethical Practice Mitha Aahara does not make false promises. It understands the client by addressing their concerns. It sets goals clearly, motivates and periodically monitors, and gives a personalized plan based on clients’ logistics. If it is a clinical condition, the doctor’s notes, reports, diagnostic tests, and medications are thoroughly reviewed, and specialized therapeutic diets are recommended. The company has several clients in India and abroad. Sreemathy also counsels them based on local specialty foods, travel, and how to meal prep and customize their food plans. Sharing her experience, Ms. Sreemathy says she speaks several languages and designs therapeutic food plans which her clients will be happy to follow. She says, “I make them understand their body and do not make any false promises on reversal or cure.” It is a nutritional therapy, and foods, traditional recipes, infusions, daily kitchen spices and herbs are used to heal with the right nutrition.
  • 16. Also highlighting about the nutritional therapy solutions she provides to her clients, Ms. Sreemathy says that hers are sustainable plans to follow and not any short-term benefits that should be shown and no shortcuts. “As we explain that the body adapts and heals, and food can harm or heal based on the ingredients and the way it is cooked, many are eager to change to healthy eating habits that do not compromise on taste. Diagnosing Challenges In her company’s journey, Ms. Sreemathy faced various obstacles right from the start. The initial challenges post- COVID were venturing online and managing their time as some people weren’t punctual or missed appointments without prior notice and expected short-term results. Sreemathy says, “We are a team of 14, and we have learnt and grown together to effectively cater to the client’s expectations.” People are more comfortable online now and even if they live in the same city, many prefer to connect virtually. The current challenge is that many clients watch too many online influencers on various social media platforms and assume or come to a conclusion about their own condition or try fad diets or quick fixes which does more harm than good. To overcome these challenges, Ms. Sreemathy has made her online portal customer-friendly, where clients can make a pre-consultation appointment at their convenience to discuss their specific symptoms and condition and if and how nutritional therapy will help them. Techno-Aid Being an experienced leader, sharing her opinion on how technology is transforming the nutritional and dietary sector and how Mitha Aahara is embracing the change, Ms. Sreemathy says that technology has helped them tremendously as any individual anywhere in the world can meet them online and also communicate effectively and share reports, food logs and food pics for effective monitoring. The Vital Aspect When probed about how crucial are nutritional and dietary solutions in today’s health-conscious times and what innovation and advancements she is bringing to the sector, Sreemathy says, ‘Food plays a major role - if not the sole factor - that will make a person healthy or put them at risk for occurrence of chronic diseases. People are very health conscious and rightly so. They understand that food plays a vital role in their skin, hair, looks and the healthy functioning of the body and mind.’ Words for the Wise In her advice to the aspirants willing to venture into her field, Ms. Sreemathy says that continuous enhancement of one’s knowledge, understanding clients or patients viewpoint, various cuisines and new food products that come to the market, being aware of ethical practice standards, and effective communication is vital to make a mark in this field. For Your Healthiest Future On envisioning scaling Mitha Aahara’s scope and plans for the future, Sreemathy divulges that she would like to formulate therapeutic food products for gut health issues, as sound digestion is the key to optimal health. “I would also like to design textured food products for patients with swallowing difficulty,” she concludes. I am a keen follower of nutrition and natural food and have completed my Certification in Ayurveda Nutrition from Trans-disciplinary University, and Certification in Functional Nutrition from iThrive Academy. I am passionate and strong-willed to change people’s mindset about health and am inspired by nature and its ability to magically transform us by correcting our eating habits What motivated you to enter the healthcare sector as a nutritionist and dietary solutions provider? Was there a personal experience that drove you to focus on scientific and sustainable health approaches? The biggest inspiration to work hard towards Nutritional Health came from my own life story and unsuccessful attempts in losing weight purely due to incorrect, unscientific and harmful methods which were the root cause of various health issues. When I realized that I wasn’t the only one affected by these tall claims and false promises of various ‘health and diet chains’, I decided to take matters into my own hand, study the body and the miraculous effects of loving and accepting healthy, nutritional food for a happy and healthy life. When I saw the change in me, I decided it was time to build a strong foundation that can then help a larger audience and help them transform their lives as well. What sets Nutrify with Nidhi Nigam apart as a prominent player in the nutritional and dietary industry? The biggest standout is to work with readily available foods in your kitchen which are your age-old, traditional ingredients that have been respected and have worked for generations together and not create a fuss and fear about superfood fads, mono diets, or restrictive diets. Most importantly, I strongly voice my opinion against pills, powders and various shakes under the name of ‘detox/weight loss miracles.’ These are strict NO-NO for me and I ensure my clients learn to understand nutrition, sustainable health and well-being from everyday produce and ingredients. www.ciolookindia.com October | 2023 (22)
  • 25. Could you highlight the advantages of the nutritional and dietary products you offer to your clients? The most critical benefit is that I do not provide artificial products and pills in the name of supplements. I engage with my clients to understand their nutritional needs and voice out the innate capacity that the human body has to heal itself when nourished with the right foods. What were the initial and ongoing challenges you faced in the nutritional and dietary solutions field, and how do you tackle these challenges to achieve greater success? Challenges that have always been and will remain is the fear of food in general that the market, food industry and ‘quacks’ so to speak have created. This could include statements like ban carbs, ban fats, fad diets and quick weight loss hacks. The only way to overcome these challenges is to constantly create awareness of balanced nutrition, the benefits of everyday food and a healthy and holistic physical and mental lifestyle. Being an experienced leader, share with us your opinion on how technology is transforming the Healthcare sector and how is your company embracing the change. Technology today plays a huge role in just about every aspect of lifestyle or business. The pandemic was primarily responsible for this disruption at a pace faster than one could imagine. In our field, technology is an enabler to upgrade yourself on the latest happenings in the industry, equip yourself with more knowledge and most importantly, reach out to a global audience and help them in their journey for good health. What would be your advice to the aspirants who are willing to venture into the field? My biggest advice is to be true to yourself, gather as much valid research and knowledge; not depend on a one-size- fits-all formula. In any field, it is only honesty, passion, the willingness to make a difference and the drive to give it your 100% that will take you to the next level. And of course, never forget your roots or where you have come from; a little compassion can take you a long way! How do you envision scaling the company’s offerings in the future? The idea is to work towards building a holistic health company–one that gives importance to nutritional consulting, lifestyle changes in terms of workouts and fresh nutritious food boxes for young professionals with no access to cooking them. These are ideas and we are in the process of thinking about its scalability and logistics but the vision is very clear–to be a holistic health management platform. My biggest advice is to be true to yourself, gather as much valid research and knowledge; not depend on a formula. one-size-fits-all www.ciolookindia.com (23) October | 2023

  • 27. In an age of constant change and evolving lifestyles, the role of nutritionists and dietitians has never been more vital. With the health landscape in India undergoing a significant transformation, these professionals are at the forefront of creating a health-conscious next generation. As India faces the twin challenges of rising lifestyle diseases and malnutrition, nutritionists and dietitians are pivotal in ensuring that the country’s youth are future-fit, armed with the knowledge and practices to lead healthy lives. The Challenges Ahead Changing Dietary Patterns: One of the most significant challenges faced by nutritionists and dietitians is the shifting dietary patterns in India. With rapid urbanization, busy lifestyles, and increased exposure to Western fast food, the traditional Indian diet is being replaced by high-calorie, low-nutrient alternatives. This change in dietary habits has contributed to rising rates of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease among the younger population. Lack of Nutritional Education: Nutritional education is a key component of fostering a health-conscious society, but it remains a challenge in India. Many schools and colleges lack comprehensive nutrition education in their curriculum, leaving students ill-equipped to make informed dietary choices. This knowledge gap is a significant barrier to creating a health-conscious next generation. Malnutrition and Micronutrient Deficiencies: While lifestyle diseases are on the rise, India continues to grapple with malnutrition, especially among children. Micronutrient deficiencies, such as iron, vitamin A, and iodine, pose a significant threat to the health and development of the younger generation. Nutritionists must address these pressing issues and develop strategies to combat them effectively. Information Overload: In the internet age, individuals can access an overwhelming amount of nutrition information. This information is not always accurate or evidence-based, leading to confusion and misinformation. Nutritionists must help individuals sift through this sea of data, providing reliable, science-backed advice while dispelling myths and fads. Socioeconomic Disparities: Socioeconomic disparities play a pivotal role in determining the nutritional habits of the younger generation. While some urban areas have access to a wide range of nutritious food options, rural and economically disadvantaged regions often face food Future Fit www.ciolookindia.com (25) October | 2023

Nutrition- ists must find ways to bridge these disparities and ensure that all segments of society have access to the knowledge and resources needed to make health-conscious decisions. The Influence of Marketing: The marketing of unhealthy foods and beverages, especially towards children, is a significant challenge. Advertising for sugary, high-fat, and low-nutrient products often targets young consumers, leading to unhealthy consumption habits. Nutritionists must counter these powerful marketing strategies with effective nutritional education and awareness campaigns. Cultural Influences: Cultural factors also impact dietary choices in India. Traditional beliefs and practices related to food can be both positive and negative influences on nutrition. Nutritionists must navigate these cultural nuances to encourage healthier eating habits while respecting cultural diversity. Lack of Integration into Healthcare: Nutritionists and dietitians often work in isolation from the broader healthcare system. Integrating nutrition services into the healthcare infrastructure and primary care settings is essential to reach a wider audience and provide early intervention and preventive measures. The Opportunities Ahead Despite the challenges, there are abundant opportunities for Indian nutritionists and dietitians to lead the charge towards fostering a future generation that prioritizes health and well-being. Personalized Nutrition: One of the most promising opportunities for nutritionists and dietitians in India is adopting personalized nutrition. Advances in technology and access to genetic and health data allow these profes- sionals to create individualized meal plans and recommen- dations tailored to a person’s unique needs, preferences, and health status. This level of personalization can have a profound impact on the adoption and maintenance of healthier eating habits. E-Learning and Nutrition Apps: The rise of e-learning platforms and nutrition apps provides an excellent opportu- nity for nutritionists to reach a broader audience. These platforms enable nutritionists to disseminate evidence- based nutrition education and guidance to individuals in diverse locations. Nutrition apps can be accessible tools for tracking dietary choices and receiving personalized recommendations. Community Engagement: Nutritionists can influence communities by engaging with them to create awareness and facilitate healthier eating habits. Initiatives in schools, local communities, and workplaces can effectively build a health-conscious society. These community programs can focus on nutrition education, cooking demonstrations, and awareness campaigns. Research and Innovation: Research and innovation in the field of nutrition offer substantial opportunities for nutritionists. Collaboration with food scientists and technologists can lead to the development of healthier food alternatives and the enhancement of the nutritional content of commonly consumed foods. Innovations in food production and preparation can have a significant impact on public health. Promoting Responsible Marketing: Nutritionists can advocate for responsible marketing practices, especially when promoting food and beverages to children. Collabora- tion with policymakers and public health organizations can raise awareness about the impact of marketing on dietary choices and the importance of limiting the promotion of unhealthy products. Government and Policy Support: Policymakers are pivotal in promoting health-conscious eating habits. Nutritionists can actively engage with government agencies to shape policies related to school nutrition, food labelling, and regulations restricting the marketing of unhealthy foods to children. Advocating for policy changes that encourage the availability of healthy food options is essential in creating a health-conscious environment. Encouraging Responsible Food Industry Practices: The food industry, as a significant player in shaping dietary habits, can be influenced by nutritionists to adopt responsi- ble practices. Stimulating the production of healthier food options, reducing the use of harmful additives, and transparently labelling products are areas where nutrition- ists can collaborate with the food industry to drive positive change. Research and Public Health Initiatives: Nutritionists can actively contribute to research and public health initiatives. Their work can inform policies and practices that have a direct impact on the dietary choices of individuals. By producing evidence-based research, nutritionists can become influential voices in nutrition. www.ciolookindia.com October | 2023 (26)

  • 31. The Best Nutri onists and Die ans in India You are what you eat.” Food, one of the essential aspects of living a life, shapes our personality and lifestyle. For several years, for different reasons, food culture saw vibrancy in colours and tastes, both good and bad. However, as life advanced, lifestyles and diet fashions changed. The change seemed sparkling, yet the results were alarming. With disturbed lifestyles and diets, people started experiences impacting their lives. A diva that came to the rescue was The Diet Hub by Sayantani, with the thought, "Diet and lifestyle changes are a holistic approach." It is a 5-star rated e-business in India in Google for diet and nutrition wherein the diets are free from any supplements, artificial enhancers or metabolic boosters. Members achieve the results by following these excellent diet plans based on home-cooked foods and natural ingredients. Nutritionist Sayantani Mohinta has done her Master's in food and nutrition. She has 18 years of rich experience in food and nutrition and provides counselling services for a healthy lifestyle. She has specific expertise in metabolic diets, effectively improving a member's overall health in the long run. Her focus is, therefore, not on immediate results but on long-term tangible health benefits. She is a leading and well-recognized nutritionist in Mumbai, providing online diet counselling services. A blog written by editor Nikhil Malve for Mumbai Coworking on 14th Dec 2021 mentions Sayantani Mohinta as the 11th best nutritionist in Mumbai who specialises in keeping the belly and body happy. She has also given talks at various forums and has made impactful presentations in Ladies' clubs or NGOs regarding women's health and dietary habits. The Diet Hub by Sayantani is an e-clinic that provides an online support system for healthy customized Indian diets for people looking forward to one-to-one consultation via the website thediethub.zest.md. A metabolic diet with no starvation and crash diets is provided, which is sustainable for life. The diet is planned for one week, catering to the individual's health requirements and food habits. Then, a discussion over a phone call is carried out to understand the member's requirements. Blood test reports are recommended to members in case of any health issues. Once a member selects a specific service, i.e. depending on their requirement, the diet chart is uploaded to the member's account. Through telephonic discussions, emails and messages, constant monitoring is done by Nutritionist Sayantani. The results are recorded post- completion of each week, and depending on the results, the way forward is planned for the remaining weeks. Diet for Diabetes, High cholesterol, Piles, Hypothyroidism, and PCOS are the services mostly availed by the members. Pre and post-pregnancy nourishment or weight loss diets are also some specialized services provided through the e-clinic. What inspired you to enter the healthcare sector as a Nutritional and Dietary solutions provider? Food and nutrition has been my passion, and I was inclined towards making a social impact and bringing awareness through a balance of food and lifestyle habits. Western food habits and crash diets are easily available everywhere on any social media or advertisement. Nowadays, people can make their diet charts via Google and many apps. However, I have noticed that these diets are short-lived and further lead to many deficiencies in the long term. These trending diets may show results faster than metabolic diets but have a deep-rooted effect on the body's metabolism. In this tech era, people treat their bodies like machines and want quick results in weeks or months with various combinations of diets. I aim to make people realize that diet is not magic and does not work wonders immediately. The diet provided must be customized for an individual's metabolic activity and suited to their body requirements. Dieting also does not mean you should starve and deprive yourself of food. I get inspired when my members achieve their intended health objectives like lowering blood glucose and high cholesterol, improving piles condition, etc., along with weight loss and thereby start feeling healthier and happier. I derive confidence from my work when I hear about my member's success stories through honest testimonials and how they have benefited from my customized diet plans. What USPs make you stand out as a leading Nutritional and Dietary solutions provider? To chalk out easy to adhere to Indian diets for my members to help them achieve their desired health objectives. The diets are based on Indian foods, which makes it sustainable for the members to follow even after completing the enrolled program. My e-clinic and website are prominently visible in Google searches, making it easier for people to approach me from anywhere. Since it's online through one- to-one telephonic consultations, it is easy for the working masses to follow and get counselling sessions at their convenience. My repeat members rate is high. In the future, the company aims to leverage the power of social media and member referrals to reach out to more people globally and increase awareness about the benefits of Indian foods for bringing out lifestyle- related changes. My e-clinic is also working on leveraging advanced analytics for in-depth analysis of members' metabolic parameters, thereby aiding in chalking out specific diet plans specifically in case of members diagnosed with multiple lifestyle disorders. What would be your advice to aspirants willing to venture into your field? I want Nutritionists to make people aware of healthy diets with sustainable health benefits. Being a Nutritionist is not only about taking up a commercial profession. We also have a social commitment towards positively impacting people's health and lifestyle. Do not convince people to follow a crash diet pattern that may provide short-term benefits but eventually spoil their complete body metabolism in the long run. How do you envision scaling the company's scope and offerings? I want to focus on imparting online customized diets and reaching out globally for health-related counselling. My objective is to make people feel confident about the right food and nutrition for their bodies. The Diet Hub by Sayantani is available for everyone who wants to achieve optimum health goals for a lifetime. I am looking forward to more interactions on the social media platform and various discussion forums. Social media platforms viz. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc., are the places to locate it for health-related tips and counselling sessions. USP, as members have approached me after receiving positive reviews from their friends and family. I have not ventured yet into formal large-scale marketing for my website. What were the initial challenges after venturing into the Nutritional and Dietary solutions field, and what are the challenges now? The initial challenge was to make people understand the difference between dieting and good food habits. Earlier people considered diets only for weight loss. Nowadays, people are more health conscious and demanding, wanting diets tailored to their specific health requirements. The challenge I face now is that most people have already followed some or the other diet plans, either on their own by doing Google research or through crash dieting. I also get members who have followed plans through app-based services without tangible long-term health benefits. These self-researched or app services have created a negative effect on their health. It has slowed the body's metabolism and resulted in nutritional deficiencies. Many members have complained of poor hair and skin quality, fatigue and acidity issues resulting from the crash and unhealthy diet regimes they have followed earlier. The challenge for me is to do an in-depth analysis of their body metabolism and history. I strive to keep their lifestyle and health on track with my customized diet plans. The current challenges include Rebooting their metabolism, improving overall health, and addressing the targeted health issues. Being an experienced leader, share your opinion on how technology is transforming the Nutritional and Dietary sector and what advancements we can expect in the future. Six years ago, when I started my e-clinic, people were not tech-friendly. They were also sceptical about online consultations; most preferred face-to-face or clinic-based consultations. Over the years and more so after the lockdown, people have realized that it is not the medium of diet consultation that makes the difference but the efforts put in by your nutritionist, be it offline or online. My approach has been to leverage technology to make it simpler for my members to reach out to me at their convenience and availability. Members have accepted that customized diet and nutrition plans can bring out the intended health benefits when imparted through an online platform.
