Pioneers: people that discovered and settled on new land, also known as settlers.
frontier: the edge of a settled area.
housing: buildings for human habitation, especially one that is lived in by a family
or small group of people.
clothing: items worn to cover the body.
travel: make a journey, typically of some length or abroad.
3. The Mississippi River was the border of the settled area. The frontier is west of the river.
