2. Introduction
 Antoine Chaya has been with Oracle Corporation for
two decades, currently as the senior director of
strategic accounts. A wine enthusiast in his free time,
Antoine Chaya enjoys visiting Napa Valley, where the
Napa Valley Grapegrowers’ Napa Valley Farmworker
Foundation recently held the 16th Annual Napa
County Pruning Contest.
The pruning contest took place at Beringer's Gamble
Ranch Vineyard on Wednesday, February 9. A
success despite the rainy weather, the event attracted
104 top Napa Valley pruners, each of whom pruned
five vines during the preliminary stage of the contest.

3. Napa County Pruning Contest
 The top contestants advanced to the final round.
The top contestant in the women’s division was
Gabriela Solano Castillo of Rudd Oakville Estate,
and the winner in the men’s Oscar Chavez of
Peju Province Winery. Overall, four women and
four men claimed over $4,500 in cash prizes,
tools, gift cards, clothing, and other gifts. All
contestants were compensated their regular
salary for participating and enjoyed a catered
lunch among fellow Napa County pruners.
