Securing your Digital Identity
In establishing a person’s identity, the use of
Biometrics technology seems to be unmatched.
Consistently evolving, it has moved from just
fingerprints used in forensic applications to face, veins,

identify and authenticate individuals for all sorts of
applications. And this unique characteristic – either
individually or in combination – is now being widely

Hurdles on the Way
Two key challenges for biometric applications are
security and privacy. Taking the case of Aadhaar, which

central repository holding all of the biometric

Genesis & Operations
SIGNZY was established in 2015. The concept behind it
came from the personal experiences of the co-founders
dealing with the banks like individuals as well as startups
(with the previous companies). “We noticed that the
whole banking was going digital, yet the compliance
function within the banks still remained very manual and
paper driven,” adds Ankit. It was observed that banks
were spending a lot of time and resources in carrying out
functions like customer on-boarding and back office
operations. All of which, could have been automated
with an AI for better output. Hence, to solve this problem
prevailing in the banking industry, SIGNZY was born.
In a bank, a primary customer on-boarding process takes
an average of 7 days. SIGNZY can enable account
opening in real time through its AI-based decision

insulated from human frauds. “We have been able to
completely automate account opening even for a
company, which used to take a month earlier,” claims the

last three years investing in a lot of R&D into its

replicate the eye-balling process at the back end. Also,

This limits the usage.

reliable network connectivity and mismatch in
biometrics. This hinders the ability to use the system on
a larger scale.

The need for developing simple yet powerful products
targeted towards the underserved and unbanked triggered
the inception of the company. The team had the vision
for the future and the idea of implementing biometric
based payments was perceived in 2016 when no industry
player was implementing it. The company brought the
product to market in just 2 years. The product connects
