3. Steve was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1950. He moved to London with his parents
when he was 5 years old. Steve started school there and his father began work at the
hospital. Alongside him was four brothers and his mother who was a housewife.
Steve and his family lived in England for 2 years then moved to Amman, Jordan
where they lived there for 10 years. Steve would then move to Cyprus to study at the
Mediterranean University.
Unfortunately, he did not succeed at the University and returned home after 7
months. His parents were very unhappy he came home with this news so he decided
to search for studies in America. He applied to many colleges and universities in the
States and finally got some acceptance offers over there!

Between two vowels:
Mother, bother, weather, etc.
When followed by a silent e:
Bath (unvoiced); bathe (voiced).
At the beginning of functional words:
This, that, these, those, then, than, they,
them, their, there, therefore.
WHEN IS IT VOICED OR UNVOICED?

At the end of the word:
Myth, mouth, bath, etc.
Before a consonant or in the middle of
compound words:
Mouthful, truthful, throw, earthworm, etc
At the beginning of most other words
