Testers entering the Agile domain are no longer on the other side of the wall. Without the wall, the developer playground of CI is a testing smorgasbord. As an Agile Tester there are many ways to consider how to design and execute automated tests and continuously keep the pulse on quality of the builds. However when it comes to leveraging existing CI pipeline for functional and performance tests many testers may not realize that main ingredients are already built-in. This presentation will share the recipes on how to propel functional and performance automated tests with immediate test results feedback to the entire team with your existent CI engine.
Presentation is base on:
• Hudson/Jenkins CI engine
• Ruby and Rake to setup, execute and tear-down test environments
• Hpricot (Ruby gem) and Hudson plug-ins to report and trend graphical results dynamically
In this experiential webinar, our guest Mohamed Shaaban will share with you his wide experience in Unit Testing in addition to practical techniques for unit testing your code using C#, NUnit, and Moq.
We investigate one of the most popular approaches to creating software: test driven development. From the basic understanding why tests are important to a new software development paradigm, where you start with tests and them do the implementation. We glance over different areas of testing and see how one should really do the software testing in different situation.
Software quality is critical to consistently and continually delivering new features to our users. This talk covers the importance of software quality and how to deliver it via unit testing, Test Driven Development and clean code in general.
This is the deck from a talk I gave at Desert Code Camp 2013.
An introduction to unit testing using Visual Studio, C#, xUnit.net, and Moq. What it is, what is isn't, why we don't do it, how to design for testability, what to test, test driven development, unit testing frameworks, mocking libraries, how to get started.
In a device-frangmented world like ours today, it has become impossible to test all software, let alone mobile applications, manually. That's why automated testing is so important!
Find out about the top benefits of automated testing in this slideshow!
This slide explain you the concept of XUnit with Asp.Net Core Web API. This slide covers,
Understanding Testing of Application,
Unit testing with XUnit Framework to improve the software performance,
Explains how to start with Unit and Integration testing with XUnit.
Lets break some code. In this workshop we will be going over some of the fundamental concepts of software testing and take a hands on approach to writing Unit and Integration tests. We will cover topics such as mocking, stubbing, database patching and how this can all fit into a continuous integration environment like Jenkins.

First Steps with Globus Compute Multi-User EndpointsGlobus
In this presentation we will share our experiences around getting started with the Globus Compute multi-user endpoint. Working with the Pharmacology group at the University of Auckland, we have previously written an application using Globus Compute that can offload computationally expensive steps in the researcher's workflows, which they wish to manage from their familiar Windows environments, onto the NeSI (New Zealand eScience Infrastructure) cluster. Some of the challenges we have encountered were that each researcher had to set up and manage their own single-user globus compute endpoint and that the workloads had varying resource requirements (CPUs, memory and wall time) between different runs. We hope that the multi-user endpoint will help to address these challenges and share an update on our progress here.

How to Position Your Globus Data Portal for Success Ten Good PracticesGlobus
Science gateways allow science and engineering communities to access shared data, software, computing services, and instruments. Science gateways have gained a lot of traction in the last twenty years, as evidenced by projects such as the Science Gateways Community Institute (SGCI) and the Center of Excellence on Science Gateways (SGX3) in the US, The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and its platforms in Australia, and the projects around Virtual Research Environments in Europe. A few mature frameworks have evolved with their different strengths and foci and have been taken up by a larger community such as the Globus Data Portal, Hubzero, Tapis, and Galaxy. However, even when gateways are built on successful frameworks, they continue to face the challenges of ongoing maintenance costs and how to meet the ever-expanding needs of the community they serve with enhanced features. It is not uncommon that gateways with compelling use cases are nonetheless unable to get past the prototype phase and become a full production service, or if they do, they don't survive more than a couple of years. While there is no guaranteed pathway to success, it seems likely that for any gateway there is a need for a strong community and/or solid funding streams to create and sustain its success. With over twenty years of examples to draw from, this presentation goes into detail for ten factors common to successful and enduring gateways that effectively serve as best practices for any new or developing gateway.
Exploring Innovations in Data Repository Solutions - Insights from the U.S. G...Globus
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has made substantial investments in meeting evolving scientific, technical, and policy driven demands on storing, managing, and delivering data. As these demands continue to grow in complexity and scale, the USGS must continue to explore innovative solutions to improve its management, curation, sharing, delivering, and preservation approaches for large-scale research data. Supporting these needs, the USGS has partnered with the University of Chicago-Globus to research and develop advanced repository components and workflows leveraging its current investment in Globus. The primary outcome of this partnership includes the development of a prototype enterprise repository, driven by USGS Data Release requirements, through exploration and implementation of the entire suite of the Globus platform offerings, including Globus Flow, Globus Auth, Globus Transfer, and Globus Search. This presentation will provide insights into this research partnership, introduce the unique requirements and challenges being addressed and provide relevant project progress.
4. “
Testing is the process of evaluating a
system or its component(s) with the intent
to find whether it satisfies the specified
requirements or not.
5. “
A process of analyzing a software item to
detect the differences between existing and
required conditions (that is
defects/errors/bugs) and to evaluate the
features of the software item.
- ANSI/IEEE 1059 standard
9. Writing Tests depends on:
◉what the test is expected to
achieve
◉the level and depth of the test
expectation
◉Non-Functional Testing
◉Functional Testing
13. Ensure tests are written for:
◉Areas where large users will be
accessing simultaneously such
◉Login/registration form
◉Bill/payment pages
◉Connection to DB
◉Expected response from database
◉Components interaction with each
others
14. Unit Test
The main aim is to isolate each part of a
program and show that the section of
code works correctly.
18. JavaScript does not natively supports
testing
It employs the good will of some of its
frameworks and library to achieve this fit
for testing in both Node and browsers
22. Why Mocha?
◉ a feature-rich JS testing framework
that runs on node and browser
◉ most used testing framework for
testing
◉ support usage of 3rd party library for
assertion, mocks, spy and others
23. Adding Mocha to
Project
//Mocha can be installed with npm, bower and available on cdnjs
//install globally with npm using
npm install -g mocha
//install as a dev dependency for your project
npm install --save-dev mocha
//installed using bower as
bower install mocha
