ROLE PURPOSE: Deliver testing services for the domains in a Telecommunications environment ensuring platforms,
services and components are tested to agreed milestones, cost and quality. Prepare test plans, test cases and test
scripts as well as execute tests to the agreed standards, timelines and service levels. Ensure a common approach &
standards are followed for testing.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience of delivering software testing solutions in a
multi-national global environment and is ideally ISTQB certified.

R1. Planning and execution of Responsible for the production of detailed test plans, test cases and test
Testing activities scripts in the Billing, DataWarehouse, ERP, Online, Mediation, CRM or

Create detailed Functional (System, Integration and Regression) test plans,
test cases and test scripts ensuring all requirements are included in scope
Execute the tests ensuring all results and defects are documented using the
test methodology
Responsible for the production of all testing deliverables and execution of
tests to agreed milestones and quality.
Identifies risks associated with the testing and takes preventative action to
ensure requirements, quality and timelines are achieved
Uses the agreed Test Tools and Environments to produce all test deliverables,
results and defects.
Identify and raise defects using the agreed methodology and tools
Liaise with the Test Team Lead to ensure planning and test coverage are
correct
Ensures quality and accuracy of the test deliverables execution and results are
maintained through to software release.
R2. Technical Competency Interacts with the test service team to gain an understanding of the business
environment, technical context and conformance criteria
Provide the status of the daily / cycle test plans and activities when required
Prepare test plans and test scripts to test each software component
Demonstrate the business condition under test along with the expected
results and any deviations.
Prepare and maintain test plans for use on automated testing tools.
Use the Test Tools to deliver the tested components, platforms and
applications to meet the test plan.
Deliver Functional an non-functional testing including System, Integration,
Regression testing as well as data migration
Execute alternative testing approaches depending on the SDLC methodology
(waterfall, agile)
Participate in the analysis of results and the defect management and
resolution process.
R3. Testing Strategy and Produce all testing deliverables in conformance with industry standards.
Standards Recommend best practice for the test methodology and update lessons learn.
Identifies improvements to the testing process and assists in their
implementation.
2. Ensure defects are identified, captured and resolved using the agreed the
Defect Management process
R4. Service Management Resolve risks within the Test plan communicating to all appropriate
stakeholders when plans, processes and / or schedules are not aligned
Communicate and escalate any risks / issues for resolution to the Test Team
Lead
Produce estimates and provide feedback to the Test Team Lead for planning
and scheduling purposes.
Analyse testing status and make Go / No Go recommendations for production

R6. Technical / Professional Expertise
Strong technological background, with degree level qualification in Computer Science, Telecommunications or
equivalent
Knowledge of structured test methods and processes
Programming: PL/SQL
Unix Fundamentals
Working knowledge of Test Management tools (HP Quality Centre/ALM preferably)
R7. Professional Experience
At least 2 years’ experience in software testing of
Billing/DataWarehouse/ERP/Online/Mediation/CRM/Middleware
Experience of System, Integration and Regression testing
