The Terminal Tower in Cleveland, Ohio was built by the Van Sweringen brothers between 1926 and 1930 at a cost of $179 million. It was the third tallest building in the United States when completed in 1930, standing 771 meters tall. An external strobe light atop the tower rotated 360 degrees to help ships and planes locate Cleveland Hopkins International Airport when the building first opened.
