Sony Music is a global music company founded in 1929 as Columbia Graphophone Company. It owns several record labels including Columbia Records, the oldest brand name in recorded sound founded in 1889; Epic Records, originally a jazz label expanded to various genres; and Relentless Records, a UK urban music label. Legacy Recordings is Sony's catalog division handling reissues from Columbia, Epic, RCA and other labels. Doug Morris was CEO from 1995 to 2011 when he was replaced by Lucian Grainge. Sony Music reported $5.6 billion in net revenue in 2021.
