Without community action, programs and projects cannot be successful!
This deck outlines the first steps in designing a community of interest within an organization.
Join guest presenters Build Consulting as they share a story of how one nonprofit organization improved their donor data. They relate how the organization did this, what they learned about their donors, and how they used what they learned to increase revenue, sustainer giving, and program outcomes. This story includes key lessons that can be leveraged by any nonprofit to increase organizational knowledge of its constituents and how to turn that information into outcomes.
Rhonda has been involved with the voluntary and community sector (VCS) most of her life. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience about the VCS and, in 2007, she took on the running of Whitwick Community Coffee Shop. With Rhonda's passion and commitment, the Cafe has developed into a major training initiative covering North West Leciestershire.
Rhonda joined Voluntary Action LeicesterShire's (VAL) 2013 Future Focus Conference to give a workshop on how collaboration can help voluntary and community groups sustain themselves in a difficult economic climate. The workshop looked at ways to streamline services by joining together and developing a shared purpose and vision.
Specifically, Rhonda's workshop helped organsiations find out what a consortium looks like, why a group might consider creating a consortium, how to overcome challenges, and the pluses and minuses of consortium.
While the 2013 Future Focus conference is now over, VAL runs trainings and workshops like Rhonda's year-round. If you'd like to learn more about training for your organisation, visit www.Valoneline.org.uk.
Rising energy costs and welfare cuts continue to put a strain on household budgets, with the worst affected being forced to choose between heating, eating or paying the rent.
Investment in physical improvements to homes have gone some way to helping households save energy. However there is growing recognition that the way people use their homes is a critical determinant of how much energy is actually saved.
But given many households may be under heating their homes, how best can we help residents to safely manage their use? And how can we reach many residents with limited resources?
This webinar will talk you through findings from the Count Us In project, and will cover:
• What works when helping residents change their behaviour
• The national smart meter roll out and how this could help
• How best to deliver effective engagement with limited resources
• The right messages to use with residents
• What help and resources are available to support you
• An opportunity to ask questions and share your experiences

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.
